But this has evidently not dampened her spirits, as she shared photos from a couple of nights out to Instagram.
In one of the pics – which the 26-year-old captioned: “Lil bit of this, lil bit of that x” – she can been seen wearing a black top and stylish pair of jeans.
And in another, she is wearing a glamorous red pantsuit, with fans gushing about her outfits.
One commented: “Wow! its amazing!” while a second said: “Sparkling like the star you are!
”
A third commented: “Lovely pictures. you look gorgeous ” and a fourth said: “Stunning

”
Interspersed with these images were ones of her athletics exploits, particularly the European Athletics Indoors Championships.
Mawdsley had raced as part of the Ireland quartet in the mixed 4x400m relay, in which they finished fifth.
And the following day, she was due to race in the individual 400m and was regarded as a potential medal hopeful in the race.
However, on the morning of the event, it was revealed that she had withdrawn due to injury.
And speaking to RTE’s David Gillick, the emotional Tipperary-native spoke of her devastation at having to pull out.
She explained: “I was in my warm up this morning and my hamstring just kept getting worse and worse.
“I wasn’t even in my spikes. I was still striding in my runners and it was just too sore.
“It wasn’t meant to be today which obviously is really devastating. I really wanted to go out and run.
“After last night, I had so much confidence.
“It isn’t often that I would back myself to think that I could make a final and I really believed I could.”
She added: “My hamstring was a bit tight yesterday and I had physio just before I went into the call room and it settled it.
“I felt really good yesterday, even after, and this morning I felt good but I just persisted in the warm-up today.
“If I went out onto the track, it would have just got worse and worse and I didn’t want to tear it completely.
“I will have to wait for an MRI and an ultra sound to see what the damage actually is.”
The subsequent scans revealed she had a small tear in her Tendon of biceps femoris.
