Lily Collins is enjoying all the special milestones that come with being a new mom. And not all of those revolve around her newborn daughter Tove and the little cutie’s growth. No, some of those milestones are the ones she reaches as a mother.
The Emily in Paris star just celebrated her first postpartum birthday, and she seems to be in total bliss.
“First birthday as a mama and I truly couldn’t be happier or imagine it being any more special,” she captioned an Instagram carousel. “What a magical year it’s been and what a beautiful year I’m stepping into.”
The post includes a photo of her with her husband Charlie McDowell holding little Tove who — per usual — is bundled up in a cozy outfit complete with an embroidered hat. The new parents smile for the camera before lovingly staring down at their little girl.
“Grateful doesn’t even begin to express how I feel…,” she continued.
She also shared celebratory photos on her Instagram Story (see them HERE before they expire). In one shot, she and McDowell kiss in front of a breathtaking body of water. “Best birthday,” she wrote, before adding a picture of the director holding their munchkin. “Ever,” she concluded.
McDowell shared his own sweet tribute for Collins, posting a black and white photo of her holding a scrunched-up Tove who is covering her face with her little fists. Like plenty of celebrities, the couple has yet to show the newborn’s face.
“Happy birthday to my stunning wife,” he wrote. “You are patient, kind, hilarious, and so loving to our beautiful Tove. Both she and I are so lucky to have you in our lives. I love you forever.”
Collins responded, saying she “couldn’t have imagined a more perfect” start to the year. “Just the most special with our little family ❤️,” she commented.
Last month, the Inheritance star shared an unbelievable video of Tove starting her “musical education.” In the clip, Tove is waving her arms around (with the help of her mom) to “I Can’t Dance” by Genesis. ICYMI: The best part is that Tove’s grandpa is the drummer. Yes, Lily Collins is that Collins — Phil Collins’ daughter.
“Imagine listening to your grandpa’s music, and your grandpa is Phil Collins😍,” one person commented.
Epicness aside, fans couldn’t get over how touching it all was. “I never thought there could be SO MUCH tenderness in a video 🥹🥹🥹 your eyes when you look at her says it all, you look so happy, Lily!” one person said. And they were spot on. As Collins said, she “truly couldn’t be happier.”
