Oh, fellow Tarnished and Nightfarers, gather ’round, for FromSoftware has yet again beckoned us with the dark and enchanting world of the Lands Between, except this time it’s more deadly and with more formidable foes to encounter.
Elden Ring Nightreign is FromSoftware’s newest release, and everyone is just absolutely eating it up. The game has everything, from a three-headed wolf who can split into three wolves, to a literal ghost lady who can summon spirits to help you win against bosses.
While Nightreign is filled with spectacular bosses and even more spectacular characters who have some of the best lore in the entire game (looking at you, Recluse), it is also filled with bugs that are absolutely game-breaking. So here is every bug FromSoftware has fixed in the 1.01.2 patch of the game.
1. Bows got nerfed

In the latest patch of Elden Ring Nightreign, FromSoftware swiftly squashed a rather peculiar exploit that gave ranged players a seriously unfair edge. See, before the fix, if you decided to slap an elemental buff, like holy, magic, or lightning, on your bow, the game would mistakenly increase the physical power of the bow, on top of the elemental buff you implemented.
And it’s not like the increase in physical attack power was insignificant; the passive elemental buff literally turned your bow into a physical attack powerhouse. Thankfully, the bug has been fixed, and all the bow enthusiasts are resorting to using their actual physical attack power to defeat bosses or revive teammates.
2. Weapon skills will not inflict status effects unless it’s a direct hit

FromSoftware tackled another subtle yet quite impactful bug where certain weapon skills were inflicting attribute attack power or status ailments like bleed or frostbite, even if the attacks were non-direct. While this bug made Nightreign much more fun to play, it completely threw off the normal balancing of the game, giving players an unfair advantage against bosses.
This bug fix ensures that while both the weapon and the attributes are still potent, their non-direct hit effects now behave as intended, and not just completely decimate Nightlords with status effects.
3. You can finally find the “Projectile Damage Drop-Off Reduced” passive effect

Adding to the list of Nightreign bug fixes, this patch also resolved a bug that undoubtedly sparked widespread frustration among long-range players. It was the missing ‘Projectile Damage Drop-Off Reduced’ passive effect bug. This highly sought-after passive effect was critical for long-ranged players who let their arrows and bolts do the talking, but sadly, it was nowhere to be found in the game’s loot tables.
That means no matter how many enemies you killed or how many hidden chests you opened, you simply wouldn’t find them, because they didn’t even exist in the loot pool. This frustrating bug has now been squashed, ensuring that players will be able to find the valuable passive effect now and use it without being scared of never finding it again.
4. The case of the vanishing merchant

Imagine this: you just started a questline where you have to look for an NPC on the map of Limveld, but he is nowhere to be found, and you just think that you will find him on the next run, but he never appears. Well, that’s because it was a bug, which has finally been fixed.
In the Guardian’s Remembrance questline, there was a personal objective that asked the players to “Find the Demon Merchant in Limveld,” and for some unlucky players, no matter what conditions they met, the Demon Merchant simply refused to appear. Many thought that his appearance on the map was a rare occurrence, but it was simply a bug that made him so elusive in the game.
Thankfully, FromSoftware has ensured that the Demon Merchant will now show up on the map whenever he’s supposed to, allowing your quest through Nightreign to finally proceed without any invisible walls on the way.
5. Libra is no longer spamming attacks

Many will be happy to know that FromSoftware has finally tamed a beast that was acting a little broken from the release of Nightreign. We are talking, of course, about Libra, Creature of the Night, who is a Nightlord in the game and is encountered by the Nightfarers during the Equilibrious Beast expedition. Turns out, Libra was suffering from a nasty bug where it would get stuck in a loop, repeating the same attacks constantly.
This meant that while some found it a cakewalk to win against the perilous Nightlord, for others, it was a nightmare filled with a barrage of attacks that slowly chipped away their health. This bug completely ruined the challenge and experience of encountering a boss, but thankfully, it has been fixed now, ensuring Libra behaves as intended.
6. GPU killing Adel is not real in Nightreign

If you were on the verge of defeating Adel, Baron of the Night, and he suddenly attacked you, right where it hurts (your GPU), completely crashing your game and entire system, then you’re not alone. Because many have been facing the same issue, and the good news is that FromSoftware has squashed this bug as well.
It turns out that, under certain unknown circumstances, during Adel’s epic boss battle, the game could become incredibly unstable, leading to freezes and even crashes. This meant that one move from Adel, and your entire progress is just *poof*. Well, this critical fix ensures that now, when you challenge the Baron of the Night, victory or defeat will be entirely on your skill and not due to technical issues.
7. You can save your buddies from Wormface’s woes

You know those stomach-churning grab attacks from the disgusting Wormfaces? Where one just lunges forward at you, wraps their fingers around you, and just…saps your very life? Well, there was a cruel bug in Nightreign that made sure that if any player was pulled into that horrific embrace while on the brink of death, then no matter how much their allies tried, they wouldn’t have been able to save their teammate.
This bug completely broke the spirit of the co-op that makes Nightreign so fun to play. Thankfully, FromSoftware took notice and swooped in with a fix, ensuring that teamwork actually saves you from getting swallowed by that disgusting creature.
