JAKE Carter has revealed the “nerve-wracking” way he planned his proposal to DWTS judge Karen Byrne.
The young stars became the original Dancing With The Stars couple back in 2018 when their romance brewed on the hit RTE series.
After seven years of dating, Jake decided to pop the big question where it all began – on the Dancing With The Stars dance floor.
Liverpool native, Jake, has now opened up on the clever plan which led to his emotional proposal.
In a short clip posted to Instagram, the singer shared snippets of the days leading up to the moment, starting with the purchase of Karen’s engagement ring.
Jake told followers: “I’m not gonna lie lads, this is the most nerve wracking thing I’ve ever had to do. I didn’t have a clue.
“I found a jewellers online that had great reviews and went in on the Monday and basically bought the ring.
“After looking at loads of different ones, I found the ring that I hoped she would like.”
The 26-year-old revealed that he then hid the ring inside his guitar case at home, keeping it out of Karen’s sight.
The musician explained how he had always wanted to propose on the Dancing With The Stars dancefloor where the pair had originally met, so he contacted the team behind the show.
The next problem, was getting Karen onto the dancefloor by herself, but Jake had a master plan.
The DWTS told Karen she had to be in studio to record a VT for the final, making sure she was all dolled up and camera ready.
But once the cameras were rolling, Karen was left in total shock when Jake appeared in studio with their beloved pooch Lenny.
Jake got down on one knee and said: “Seven years ago we met on this dance floor and both of our lives changed forever.
“So I thought it was the perfect place to come back and ask you, Karen will you marry me?”
The celebrity judge was left in shock and teared up with emotion before asking: “Are you actually for real?”

Jake then asked, “Is it a yes?” and Karen was quick to respond, “Yeah,” before they broke down in tears and hugged each other.
After the adorable moment, Jake and Karen spent a romantic evening at The Dylan Hotel in Dublin and even brought Lenny along with them.
Jake finished off the video, by adding: “That was job done, but now I guess we have to plan a wedding.”
He joked: “I really didn’t think about how quick start talking about weddings.”
