Taking to social media ahead of the mega weekend, Dublin Airport said: “Dublin Airport is ready for St Patrick’s Day!
“We can’t wait to welcome tens of thousands of tourists to Ireland over the coming day and a true Céad Míle Fáilte awaits with our buildings – both inside and out – lit up in green, white and orange!”
They shared four beautiful pictures of the two busy terminals, all lit up in green, white and orange – the Irish tricolour.
Last year, Dublin Airport made a similarly lovely gesture for passengers arriving in Ireland for St Patrick’s Day by greeting them with a “surprise performance”.
Captioning the post on X, they said: “Passengers arriving for St Patrick’s Day received an Irish welcome as a surprise performance took over Terminal 1.”
In the video, people were seen waiting for passengers to come out of the arrival gates at Terminal 1 as many people came to Ireland to visit their families or celebrate the event.
As many passengers started to come out of the arrival gates, a couple of men came out of the crowd and started singing, shocking those in attendance.
And more people then started to joined in to form a large choir group to give the passengers “an Irish welcome”.
Many passengers were amazed by the sudden “surprise performance” as they stopped for a minute to watch the choir.
The performance concluded after nearly two minutes, with passengers applauding the incredible performance.
GUINNESS BAR BACKLASH
Meanwhile, the capital’s airport recently confirmed that their new Arthur Guinness Bar is open for business.
The new spot is open this week just in time for St Patrick’s Day weekend.
Early last year, Dublin Airport revealed their plans to open a new Terminal 1 bar in the name of Arthur Guinness – the founder of Ireland’s most popular stout.
It is in the same location as the previous Guinness Bar that opened in 2022, which faced major backlash due to the price of drinks being some of the highest in Dublin.
Taking to X, airport bosses said: “Introducing our latest new arrival.
“Check out the new ‘Arthur Guinness Bar’ in Terminal 1 airside. Open just in time for St Patrick’s weekend.”
Dublin Airport has also unveiled pricing for the new venue.
Up first, a breakfast roll with sausage & bacon or egg & cheese will set you back almost €12 while hot drinks start at €2 for a cup of tea and go all the way up to €9.95 for an Irish coffee.
For lunch, prices range from €7.95 for soup, up to €13.95 for a toasted sandwich and €17.95 for stew.
And drink prices are some of the highest anywhere in the airport, with other outlets like Burger King selling pints as part of a meal deal for €4.50.
This includes prices ranging from €7.20 to €7.60 for a draught beer, such as a pint of Guinness, Hop House and Harp Lager.
