Have you ever wondered what Dolly Parton eats in a day? While there are so many things people eat in a day, it turns out Parton makes sure she gets this one type of food every single day.
In a recent interview with Today, she revealed her love for potatoes.
She said, “I have to have something with potatoes. I mean, I’m just one of those people that I have to either have a baked potato, some mashed potatoes, or some french fries, or something to do with potatoes.”

Now, this isn’t the first time she’s talked about her love for potatoes. In fact, back in a 2020 Wired Autocomplete Interview, via GMA, she said, “Potato, potato, potato! I never met a spud I didn’t like! Every diet I ever fell off of has been because of a potato—French fries, mashed potatoes, baked potatoes.”
And in another interview with AllRecipes, she said, “I’ve always been a potato person, even if it’s a mashed potato, or a French fry, or if I just baked a potato.”
Honestly, same. Who doesn’t love a good potato?!
As many fans know, she has released cookbooks such as Dolly’s Dixie Fixin’s in 2006, and Good Lookin’ Cookin’ with her sister Rachel Parton George, which was released in 2024.
And since 2022, she’s worked on releasing cooking ingredients. She started with Duncan Hines to create custom cake mixes, frosting, brownies, biscuits, pancakes, and more. In 2025, she has released frozen meal options for people on the road, and yes, one of them includes potatoes.
