Darts star working on ‘project Luke Littler’ with 14-month-old son who he hopes can be sport’s next teen breakthrough

LUKE LITTLER has inspired Chris Dobey to start his own “project Luke Littler” with his 14-month old son.

Dobey, who was narrowly beaten by Littler in Premier League Night 5, hopes his son can be a dominating force on the PDC Tour like Littler is now.

Hollywood has two sons born in 2017 and 2023.

When speaking to the Juicy Darts YouTube channel, Dobey was asked when he plans on starting this project.

However, he revealed the plan has already started.

The World No.6 said: “It’s already started with the little one!

“I’ve got him a little magnetic dart board for his birthday and he’s never off it.

“My eldest has got no interest now. He did have a good natural throw when he was 12-18 months, but no interest whatsoever.

“[My youngest is] 14 months and he’s literally throwing it at the magnetic board.

“We’ll try to get him playing earlier than Littler! I didn’t force nothing on him.

“I got him [the magnetic board] and we’ll see what happens. But he’s always throwing it at the board and he loves it.”

Dobey, winner of The Masters in 2023, is 34 years old and admits he is excited about the prospect of playing one of his sons on the Pro Tour in the future.

He said: “I’d like to still be playing if one of the two were to come through. It’ll be great. 100 per cent [I’d beat them], you can’t go light on them.

“I’m also one of those who would play pairs with them. I wouldn’t play pairs with a good player, you want to try to bring them through too.”

Last week, Dobey admitted he would love to splurge £10,000 in winnings across this week on Cheltenham and watching his beloved Newcastle face Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.

But he was left disappointed as he was crushed 6-2 by Rob Cross in the first round in Nottingham.
