Damian Priest loves his WWE contract’s exclusive perk
Damian Priest’s WWE career is full of memorable moments and achievements that made him an A-tier card that fans would pay to see. Even though for the majority of 2025, the star has been in a feud with Drew McIntyre, where both stars have been taking shots at each other.
Their rivalry reached its climax when they met in a Sin City match at WrestleMania 41. Despite the Scottish Warrior stealing the win, fans loved Priest, and both performers put on a show that took the fans back to the Attitude Era. Hence, the company’s higher executives felt that the wrestler had worked hard enough to earn himself an improved WWE contract.
Recently, the former World Heavyweight Champion was present on the episode of What Do You Wanna Talk About? He shared that last year, he signed a new contract with World Wrestling Entertainment. The contract came with one new exclusive perk, which includes traveling more comfortably with first-class tickets. Priest said,
I’m a big guy, never sat. I don’t even think I sat for first class in my life. But I was like, ‘Hey, I don’t wanna be on pain anymore. I wouldn’t wanna wrestle and then be, because, I’m sorry, I am a big guy, I don’t fit.’
He continued that the higher-ups were surprised and felt that he should have that bonus already, to which he opened up about not being “politic” and asking for things, with the host labeling it as “creature comfort.”
He said,
And they’re like, ‘that’s not a problem. Yeah, you should have had that already.’ I was like, ‘I don’t know the rules.’ I don’t know how to politic. I don’t know how to ask for, I’m just not me.
The former US Champion was clueless about how the negotiation worked, but the executives agreed to his demand and told him that he could now sit at the front of the plane. He mentioned how this perk came into effect when they traveled to Australia last year for the live show.
Damian Priest once drenched Cody Rhodes with his “giant drink”
With the 42-year-old wrestler putting his body on the line each week, he is one of the safest performers to work with, and that does add to what got him his new contract. However, that does not make things easier for him because he shared that he has a fear of flying, and he needs to keep himself distracted during the entirety of his flight, or else “he will freak out.”
The host agreed and recalled how, during a flight, he threw a “giant drink” all over him, covering him in lime. To save himself from the guilt, the Archer of Infamy mentioned that the former Undisputed WWE Champion “fabricates” incidents regardless of being so “charming” and “entertaining.” The guest took over and started narrating how the entire incident really went. He said,
I literally, the way my drink is right now. I put it down, it was cuz, so you have a chair, and now there’s like a, between the chair and the window, there’s like a little railing thing. I put it down there. The thing took off. I held on cuz it was terrifying. And everything just slid backwards. And to be honest, I couldn’t believe that there was nothing in between. It just kept on going.
The American Nightmare was “dead asleep” and woke up asking his co-passenger why he was throwing his drink all over him. Nevertheless, he was glad that Priest finally unraveled the mystery because he was always curious about getting drenched with a drink.
