If there’s anyone sandwiched between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s feud, it’s Colleen Hoover. The author has proclaimed support for the actress following allegations of misconduct leveled against the director, but it seems like Hoover is no longer in a good position after a disturbing social media post got many fans worried about her own stability.
Still, Hoover’s business won’t be put on hold amid the issue as a new project based on her other novel is in the works, with Dakota Johnson, Josh Hartnett, and Anne Hathaway starring in the screen adaptation of Verity.

Colleen Hoover publicly declared support for Blake Lively after the actress accused Justin Baldoni of s*xual misconduct and a smear campaign. The latter counter-sued and accused his former costar of defamation and extortion. Now, Hoover’s career is seemingly hanging by a thread as she gets caught in the crossfire.
The legacy of her work on It Ends With Us has gained bad publicity, and it’s difficult to imagine that it will always be attached to the issue between Lively and Baldoni. On social media, fans were quite disturbed after Hoover uploaded an Instagram story where she seemingly wasn’t in good health.

“This may be either a new rock bottom for me or the best thing that’s ever come out of my brain,” she said while showing how she froze Diet Pepsi into ice cubes. She went on to make her drink, but viewers could sense that something was amiss.
Later in the clip, she revealed that she found out her boss put all of her merch on sale for $10 each, which she said was five times cheaper than how much she paid for each item and would make her “broke as sh*t” by the end of the day. She warned that she would be firing all of her employees and retiring afterward.
The Lively-Baldoni issue had perhaps taken a toll on her, and choosing a side meant she had to face the criticism that came with it. While her books had been slammed before due to their content and nature, it wasn’t as bad as what she’s going through right now, especially since lawsuits are already involved.
Dakota Johnson’s Verity could revive Colleen Hoover’s career
With Dakota Johnson’s upcoming film based on Hoover’s Verity novel, this might be her chance to get back up and move away from the issue of It Ends With Us. There is already so much anticipation for the movie as the source material is one of her best-selling titles.
Production is now ongoing, with Johnson spotted filming outside New York City’s Grand Central Terminal. Anne Hathaway, on the other hand, was seen shooting in Queens. Verity is a collaboration between Amazon MGM Studios and director Michael Showalter.
Verity is yet to receive a release date schedule.
