Dakota Johnson and Pedro Pascal are proving to be a hilarious duo in any interview they show up together. Promoting their upcoming film, Materialists, the two actors are putting a smile on our faces with their unscripted moments, almost forcing us to go and give their film a watch. Of course, a love triangle between Pedro Pascal, Dakota Johnson, and Chris Evans is too good to miss anyway.
Best known for her work in the Fifty Shades film series, Dakota Johnson has admitted that filming the steamy scenes with Jamie Dornan wasn’t as exciting as she thought it would be. In fact, she ended up hurting herself while filming those scenes. When she recalled this to Pedro Pascal, the man absolutely lost his cool.
Dakota Johnson’s anecdote sends Pedro Pascal into a fit of laughter
Both Pedro Pascal and Dakota Johnson know how to keep the audience engaged through their interviews with their undeniable wit and charm. The two stars are naturally hilarious, which is why putting them in the same room together could only mean one thing: chaos.
Pascal and Johnson sat down with Vogue for their Off the Cuff interview, where the two actors engaged in rapid-fire questions. During the conversation, Johnson asked a fairly common question, reading it off a cue card: “Have you ever had any accidents while filming?”
When Pascal replied with an affirmative, Johnson recalled her own story, revealing that she got “whiplash” from her intimate scenes in Fifty Shades of Grey. In her words, “Me too. I got whiplash from ‘Fifty Shades.”
That was all it took for Pascal to absolutely lose it and burst into laughter, getting off his chair to properly react to what Johnson had just revealed. Watch the entire interview here:
The interview is full of other hilarious moments shared between the two, including the time when Pedro thought that her co-star’s nickname as a little girl was “c*ck,” and not Coqui like she had said.

How exactly did Dakota Johnson get whiplash from Fifty Shades of Grey?
Before she took a trip down memory lane with Pascal in the interview, Johnson had actually talked about what happened on the set of her breakthrough film that caused her to suffer whiplash.
In an interview with Yahoo Movies, the actress revealed that she and Jamie Dornan were filming in the “Red Room of Pain” when her co-star had to throw her on the bed for…miscellaneous activities.
They had to shoot the exact scene seventeen times, causing her head to snap back over and over again. When she woke up the next day, she couldn’t even move her neck. She stated,
Jamie was throwing me on a bed. We did 17 takes, so my head just snapped back all day and when I woke up I couldn’t move my neck. [It] was really terrible.
As for Dornan, he doesn’t recall getting hurt on set, but could vouch for the fact that Johnson walked away with a few bruises after “stuff got a little bit real in the Red Room.”
Well, that just goes on to say that no matter how effortless or steamy the actors make a scene look on camera, things aren’t always what they appear to be. A lot goes into making it come across as real as possible on the screen!
