Celebrities Pay Their Respects at Deb Mukherjee’s Prayer Meet in Mumbai

A prayer meet for the late actor Deb Mukherjee, father of filmmaker Ayan Mukerji, was held in Mumbai yesterday. Several prominent celebrities attended to offer their condolences and support, including Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sham Kaushal, Kunal Kapoor, Imtiaz Ali, Babita Kapoor, Anupam Kher, and more. The gathering reflected the deep respect and love the film industry holds for the late actor.

 

Ranbir Kapoor, who was dressed in white, was photographed inside a car before requesting the paparazzi to step back so he could roll up his windows. Vicky Kaushal, sporting a casual blue shirt and denim, greeted the paparazzi with folded hands before heading into the prayer meet. 

 

Aditya Roy Kapur, dressed in a combination of white and blue, also nodded at the photographers before quickly making his way inside.

 

Deb Mukherjee passed away on March 14 at the age of 83 after a prolonged illness. Known not only for his work as an actor but also for his significant role in the North Bombay Durga Puja, Deb’s passing has left a void in both the film and cultural communities.

 

His last rites were performed at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Juhu, Mumbai. The prayer meet served as a moment for friends, family, and colleagues to come together and honor his memory.
