CDPR (CD Projekt Red) just can’t let go of their neon-drenched passion project, Cyberpunk 2077. For the past few years now, they’ve been rolling out “final big patch” after “final big patch,” and yet, here we are in June 2025, waiting for another one.
This time it’s Patch 2.3, launching on June 26, and from the excitement, it’s another big one, maybe it’s the last one. But fans aren’t complaining, especially with recent whispers of a possible new DLC stirring up hope that Night City has one more trick up its cybernetic sleeve.
CDPR still has more to give to Cyberpunk 2077 players

During the latest RedStream dev event, CD Projekt Red once again surprised fans with the announcement of Patch 2.3, which is set to launch on June 26. The studio’s Senior Community Manager, Alicja Kozera, casually dropped the bombshell, admitting, “The last one wasn’t the last one.”
After a few years of releasing “final” updates, it’s clear that the developers still feel passionate about their Cyberpunk 2077 universe. To keep fans on the edge of their seats, Global Community Director Marcin Momot confirmed that the update will be a big deal, sharing a playful hint: “We’re not done yet!”
The dev team has promised to reveal more about the update as we approach the launch date, so for now, all fans can do is eagerly await further details. With the studio’s history of secretly cooking up surprises, expectations are already sky-high, and fans are definitely excited to see what’s next.
Whether it’s major gameplay tweaks, new features, or a fresh narrative thread that connects to the recently rumored DLC for the game, Patch 2.3 is already generating a lot of buzz.
What could Patch 2.3 actually include?

With no specifics revealed yet, fans are speculating hard. The general expectation is the usual blend of bug fixes, quality-of-life improvements, and minor additions, things like better UI, polish to existing systems, and possibly even new gigs or gear.
But there’s a louder buzz forming around something juicier: DLC. A now-deleted LinkedIn post from a developer hinted at work on new side quests, sparking rumors that 2.3 might sneak in narrative content.
Could we be looking at a mini-storyline in the style of Phantom Liberty? Maybe a corporate conspiracy side arc? A return of a fan-favorite character? Or dare we dream, a new romance path (hello again, Judy… another crash on her couch)?
Speculation also includes long-wanted features like console mod support, dynamic world events, or even expanded cyberware customization. Sure, it might not be a full-blown expansion with Idris Elba front and center, but even a taste of fresh story content could make this update a memorable send-off.
Or… maybe it won’t be the send-off after all. CD Projekt Red really likes surprises and might cook up something next year as well. But with Witcher 4 and the sequel in the works, maybe this is the last one indeed.
