He suffered a medical emergency while driving his young son to a celebration.

Taylor, a father-of-four, had celebrated his fourth wedding anniversary with his wife Renee just days before his death.

She desperately drove to her husband and son on Saturday, from a retreat she led three hours away.

Despite efforts from paramedics to save his life, Taylor died before his wife could arrive at the scene.

Daytime TV star reveals Brits are missing out on ‘absolute bargain’ mobile phone savings

LESS than half of Brits are willing to buy a refurbished phone – despite 83 per cent believing new smartphones are too expensive.

A poll of 2,000 adults found the main concerns about buying a pre-loved phone include poor battery life (61 per cent), the condition of the device (55 per cent) and the limited or lack of warranty (48 per cent).

83 per cent of people believe brand new smartphones are too expensive[/caption]

Other common worries include fear of potential viruses or malware (43 per cent) or that the phone may have been stolen before being re-sold (34 per cent).

On the flip side, 43 per cent said keeping costs down was a major motivator for buying second-hand as opposed to a brand-new device.

To dispel any myths around smartphones and highlight the potential savings on refurbished tech, iD Mobile and TV icon David Dickinson hosted a unique auction in London where bidders competed for savings on his top picks of quality pre-loved devices.

Bidders looking to score a ‘real deal’ walked away with some of the latest, 12-month warranty-assured, refurbished plans.

Lewis Henry, from iD Mobile, which claims to save customers an average of £250-a-year compared to major networks, said: “Whilst the savings speak for themselves, there are still a lot of myths surrounding refurbished phones.

“Many people assume they’ll be scratched, outdated models in a bad condition, when in reality, there’s often very little difference that can be easily spotted between a refurbished phone and a brand new one.”

The research, carried out via OnePoll, found 63 per cent were unaware you can purchase a ‘Grade A’ refurbished phone, which is a handset restored to an excellent, like-new condition.

But 51 per cent recognise refurbished devices are a more sustainable option than buying new.

It also emerged phone users are holding onto their device for roughly three to four years before swapping out for a newer model.

And encouragingly, two-thirds would be open to trading in their current phone so it can be resold as a refurbished device, helping to extend the life cycle of mobile tech.

David Dickinson, famous for sniffing out a real ‘bobby dazzler’ of a deal, said: “These refurb phones are absolute bargains – top-notch condition, big savings, and no compromise on quality.

“Now that’s what I call a great deal!”

Kaz Crossley wades into Grace vs Olivia screenshots row after fight explodes AGAIN in Love Island final

LOVE Island All Stars alum Kaz Crossley has waded into the controversy over Grace Jackson’s alleged texts claiming she’d do “anything” to win the ITV2 series.

The latest spin-off matchmaking show, hosted by Maya Jama, saw Gabby Allen and Casey O’Gorman crowned surprise winners.

The duo bagged the £50,000 prize but the final was shrouded in controversy as All Stars alum Liv Hawkins reignited her feud with model Grace.

The bad blood was first sparked on Sunday when Liv returned briefly with a major revelation about the Manchester lass during the dumping ceremony.

She claimed she’d seen text messages from Grace to someone where she’d declared she would “do anything to win the show this time”.

It came as bombshell Grace made it to the Love Island final alongside Luca Bish – and Liv reinforced her stance when grilled by maya about the reciepts.

During Sunday’s show she was backed by Samie Elishi who agreed the Love Island bunch had seen the screenshots.

Yet now Kaz has taken to her Instagram page to try to clear her name.

In a six-minute video she told fans: “I just want to say I haven’t seen these messages, and I had no involvement in this situation.

“So yeah, you lot need to stop asking me.

“Because boy I have no idea because that was crazy.”

Fans on Reddit were quick to comment on her video, with one musing: “I hate the producers for this btw. The overproduction is tiring.”

Another mused: “In the finale when Maya was asking Kaz about Luca and Grace, did anyone see the stank b***h face Grace gave when looking at Kaz?

“I went from liking Grace to being so happy they didn’t win lol.

“She needs to be humbled. Kaz is literally the realest person in that villa.”

SHOCK CLAIM

Love Island All Stars 2025 official line-up

Love Island All Stars is back on TV for season 2.

Here we take you through the line-up of all the Islanders who are in the villa so far.

Bombshells

Each series brings with it a string of hot single bombshells making their epic entrance into the villa.

Here’s who has joined the villa so far:

This weekend, Liv told stunned Islanders she had seen screenshots of Grace admitting she had a “game plan” to win the show.

Before sending Ronnie and Harriett home, Olivia said: “I feel like there’s one particular couple that I probably would have swapped from things I’ve seen from the outside.”

Not holding back, Olivia said: “Erm, so I’ve seen text messages of Grace just saying to someone that she would do whatever it takes to win the show this time.”

Grace, who is currently coupled up with Luca, looked horrified at Olivia’s comment, before she yelled: “Wait, what? From who?”

Olivia continued: “So I was just a bit confused,” as Grace screamed: “From who?”

Grace continued to deny she had ever sent messages but Olivia confessed she had the “receipts” to prove it.

During Monday’s final, host Maya spoke to Olivia about her claims – including asking if there were any such receipts.

The presenter said: “Absolute scenes when you came into the villa the other day. The question we all want to know, do you have the receipts?”

Olivia replied: “I’ve seen them, I’ve said what I’ve said. You know me, I’m very straight talking. I’m straight to the point. I honestly wish them the best.”

Meanwhile, Grace retorted there were no receipts and said she looked forward to “apparently seeing them”.

Show bosses have now been forced to step in after Liv was sent death threats after her reveal.

Meanwhile, Reuben Collins, who dated Grace when she first appeared on the show in series 11, was one of many to back her in the fight, declaring on Instagram the accusation was: “FAKE NEWS!!!”

Reuben and Grace met in the villa and were dumped together, remaining an item for just two weeks before calling it a day.

However, it’s clear they left on good terms, with Reuben cheering on her reappearance for All Stars, posting on her announcement: “Now that’s a bombshell!!”

Family of woman whose hands were bitten off by 7ft shark reveal how she & husband tried to fight off bloodthirsty beast

A HORRIFYING shark attack has been described by the victim’s family as a “nightmare” after her two hands and a chunk of her thigh were bitten off.

The victim’s family revealed how her husband heroically jumped in the water to fight off the shark until she managed to escape.

The couple were in the middle of a relaxing holiday to the Turks and Caicos Islands when the harrowing experience occurred earlier this month.

Shocking images showed the aftermath of the dreadful ordeal with a crowd holding clothes against the mauled woman’s wounds.

The 55-year-old Canadian woman joined her husband “in only hip deep clear water” when the deadly predator suddenly launched its attack.

The seven-foot beast, which is believed to be a bull shark, bumped into the swimmer’s leg before it started its violent frenzy and bit her thigh, according to the brother-in-law.

He said: “Not satisfied, the shark came back again and when she put both hands in front of her to protect herself, the shark cut off both of her hands, one at mid-forearm and the other at the wrist.”

The victim’s brave husband then jumped between the two and heroically fought off the hungry animal until his wife “walked out of the water and collapsed on the beach”.

She was given first aid before paramedics took her to a hospital, where it was revealed she had suffered life-changing injuries.

The harrowing incident saw the woman lose both of her hands, one reportedly amputated at the wrist and the other up to her forearm.

Her mauled leg however was luckily saved.

The victim’s brother-in-law also revealed that she was flown back to Canada from the British overseas territory by air ambulance for more surgery and recovery.

He added that his brother and sister-in-law’s lives have been “completely altered in the blink of an eye,” and pleaded with people to contribute to the fundraiser.

BULL SHARK FACTS

Bull sharks are found in both saltwater and freshwater. They can live in rivers, lakes, and coastal waters.
Adult bull sharks can grow up to 7 to 11 feet long
Known for their aggressive behaviour, they are considered one of the most dangerous shark species.
They are carnivores, feeding on fish, dolphins, turtles, and even other sharks.
Bull sharks can be found in tropical and subtropical waters worldwide.
They can tolerate freshwater by regulating their salt levels in their kidneys.
The sea animals can swim at speeds of up to 25 miles per hour.
Bull sharks give birth to live young, with litters typically ranging from 1 to 13 pups.
They have triangular, serrated teeth perfect for grabbing and cutting through prey.
Bull sharks are responsible for more attacks on humans than many other species, due to their aggressive nature and tendency to inhabit shallow waters near shorelines.

It had been reported earlier last week that the victim had “engaged” with the shark in an attempt to take photos with it, but this has since been denied by witnesses who claimed that the attack was unprovoked.

Police and local environmental officials confirmed the attack happened at around 10:30 on Friday February 7, in the waters off Thompson’s Cove Beach in central Providenciales.

They said: “Medical personnel and the police were dispatched to the given location in Blue Hills, Providenciales.

“The 55-year-old victim was brought ashore and rushed to the Cheshire Hall Medical Center for Treatment.”

Shark bites in the surrounding waters of the Turks and Caicos Islands are relatively rare.

Last year only one unprovoked attack was reported and was non-fatal, according to Florida Museum of Natural History’s International Shark Attack File (ISAF).

But the waters around the islands are still home to various types of sharks including grey reef sharks, nurse sharks, tiger sharks and bull sharks.

The victim’s family launched a GoFundMe page where you can donate to support the couple.

It comes after another attack earlier this month, when 17-year-old Charlize Zmuda was mauled to death by a shark near Bribie Island, Australia.

A heartfelt vigil was held the day after by her father and was attended by hundreds of mourners.

In January this year, a retired dentist fought off a savage tiger shark by jabbing its eyes after he witnessed the beast maul another man to death in front of him moments before.

Peppino Fappani, 69, was swimming at a resort in Egypt alongside EU diplomat Gianluca Di Gioia when the horror unfolded.

Fappani attempted to save the other man’s life before he tragically died from his bite wounds.

Emmerdale rocked by SECOND shock death after icy limo crash – as a THIRD body is discovered beneath the water

A SECOND shocking death has been confirmed in Emmerdale after the horror limo crash left TEN characters fighting for their lives.

In terrifying scenes, the ladies of the Dales continued their trek from the sinking limo across the plunging ice but not everyone managed to survive.

Amy survived but came face-to-face with a body under the ice[/caption]

At the end of the last episode, fans of the ITV soap opera saw Amy Wyatt plunge through the ice as she scrambled to become free as the water quickly solidified over her head.

Amidst her fall came the most disturbing revelation of all – a mystery body lurking under the water.

Amy came face-to-face with it and reacted in sheer panic before being knocked out cold by the icy water.

In tonight’s episode, quick-thinking Tracy managed to break the ice and pull Amy to safety but she was left barely conscious and unable to speak with it clear she was just seconds away from death.

Tracy pulled Amy onto the embankment as she and Vanessa did their best to keep her warm and talking.

In a devastating scene, Amy appeared to look and tug at Tracy’s two bracelets which saw reminded her were made by her daughter Frankie.

It led to a moment of realisation as the body Amy came face-to-face with under the ice also appeared to be wearing a matching bracelet.

Amy was seemingly attempting to make a reference to Tracy about the bracelet.

It heavily hinted that it was Nate Robinson’s body trapped underneath the lake as he was also known to have a bracelet from daughter Frankie.

Viewers will remember that Nate left the Dales in September 2024 and mysteriously vanished without being seen.

He had accepted a new job in Scotland and it appeared that he had just made a low-key exit following his wife’s affair with his uncle.

However, has the limo crash now exposed a shocking deadly secret that Nate was murdered and his body plunged into the bottom of the lake?

Elsewhere, the episode confirmed that Leyla Harding, played by Roxy Shahidi, had in fact sustained a catastrphoc injury.

In Monday’s episode, Leyla could be seen touching her stomach which left her hands bloodied but she kept quiet to the rest of the group.

With just her, Kerry and the body of dead Suzy Merton, inside the vehicle, Leyla revealed she had been impaled by a piece of ice during the crash which had gone through her entire body leaving her bleeding out and barely concious.

It forced Kerry to drag her out of the limo as Leyla became unable to move herself before appearing to be moments away from dying.

As Kerry scuttled herself and Leyla across the ice, the limo sunk beneath the water with Suzy’s body still trapped inside.

Having received a call from Charity, the emergency services finally managed to reach the site of the crash.

Leyla and Amy were quickly transported into ambulances as was Dr. Liam who had been throwing up following a bump to the head in the crash.

He was eventually unconscious as he was transported into the vehicle as was Noah Dingle who Charity smashed into with the limo leaving him fighting for his life.

Amid the devastation, the four ambulances could be seen journeying to the hospital but one of the villagers lost their lives on route.

Having performed CPR, two paramedics looked at each other before a call was made to confirm one patient was “dead upon arrival” at the hospital.

But who of the four will not make it?

Biggest soap stunts

By Conor O’Brien

Soaps are no stranger to dramatic stunts in the storylines. Not only do these moments create a spectacle for viewers, they also fundamentally change characters’ lives.

Here is a look at some of the biggest soap stunts from over the years.

CORONATION STREET

  • Tram crash (2010): The ITV soap marked its 50th anniversary with a intense tram crash – and live episode to boot. Overall, the crash and its effects were broadcast across a week in December 2010. Its resulting chaos saw regular characters Ashley Peacock (Steven Arnold) and Molly Dobbs (Vicky Binns) die.
  • Richard Hillman tries to kill the Platts (2003): Of all the men unlucky-in-love Gail tied the knot with, Richard Hillman (Brian Capron) is probably the one she regrets most in hindsight. In 2003, murderer Richard tried to kill his step-family: first by gassing them with car fumes and then driving Gail (Helen Worth), Sarah (Tina O’Brien), David (Jack P. Shepherd) and Bethany (Amy and Emily Walton) into a canal.

EASTENDERS

  • Queen Vic fire (2010): In September 2010, EastEnders bid farewell to matriarch Peggy Mitchell (Barbara Windsor) as a permanent fixture on the soap – she returned as a guest before the character’s death in 2016. In the build-up to her initial exit, Peggy had trapped crack cocaine-addicted son Phil (Steve McFadden) in the Queen Vic. However, he escaped and set the boozer on fire.
  • Bus crash (2017): In April 2017, a total of 11 Albert Square residents had their lives at risk in a terrifying bus crash. The stunt saw a double decker bus – the 764 to Barking – lose control and crash through the Albert Square market before hitting a low-level bridge. Notable passengers at the time included Denise Fox (Diane Parish) and Louise Mitchell (Tilly Keeper).

EMMERDALE

  • James Barton’s death (2016): Interestingly about James’ (Bill Ward) death was that it came in a spiral of events. After wife Emma (Gillian Kearney) locked James up in a jealous rage, he escaped and they tussled on a bridge over the bypass. Emma pushed him and James fell into traffic, in turn causing a 12-vehicle pile up, As well as James dying, key characters including Ashley Thomas (John Middleton) and Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) were injured.

The Jags legend has been dismissed with the club sitting fourth in the Scottish Championship table.

Kris Doolan has departed Partick Thistle[/caption]

Doolan, 38, had been associated with Thistle for much of the past 16 years.

He initially joined as a player from junior outfit Auchinleck Talbot in 2019 and went on to make more than 400 appearances during a 10-year spell as a player

Doolan returned to the club in January 2023 in a youth coaching capacity before being installed as caretaker manager just a month later after Ian McCall’s exit.

After going unbeaten in three matches, Doolan was made permanent boss.

After just over two years in charge, he has now been axed.

In a statement, the club said it was a decision they hadn’t taken lightly.

Chairman Richard Beastall said: “The board have made the difficult decision to part ways with Kris. This was not an easy choice.”

“When Kris left as a player in 2019, it was said that ‘He is, and always will be, a legend at Partick Thistle Football Club.’ That remains true today.”

“On behalf of everyone at the club, we thank Kris for his dedication and wish him the very best for the future. He will always be welcome at Firhill.”

Bournemouth star Dean Huijsen’s transfer release clause revealed as Real Madrid battle Man Utd in race to sign Spaniard

Huijsen has helped the Cherries surge up the league in a surprise European push.

The 19-year-old joined Bournemouth from Juventus in a £12.6million deal.

He has played 19 times this season, scoring twice and helping Andoni Iraola’s men to fifth place.

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Huijsen has a £50million release clause in his contract.

The fee can be activated by any club in the summer window.

As such, it could be that Huijsen has his pick of Europe’s elite come July.

Man United boss Ruben Amorim is a big admirer of Huijsen – but the Red Devils face stiff competition from Real Madrid.

Amsterdam-born Huijsen, 19, started his career in Spain and is a Spanish citizen after his family moved there when he was five.

He only made one appearance for Juventus before being shipped out on loan to Roma.

Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Milan are also said to be interested in signing the youngster.

Huijsen signed a six-year deal at the Vitality Stadium last summer.

And he admits he is “grateful” to ex-boss Jose Mourinho for helping to launch his career at Roma.

Huijsen played 13 times in the Serie A under the former Chelsea and Man United coach.

He told the Guardian: “Jose was great even though I wasn’t with him for too long.

“He was really good to me and he gave me an opportunity and I’ll always be grateful for that.

“He believed in me and I think someone that big believing in you is very special, especially for a young guy coming through.

“For someone that big to say what he said is really special and it only gives you confidence as a player.”

English city that’s the ‘only Unesco site in the country’ named top travel destination to visit in 2025

JUST weeks after being named one of the best places to visit in 2025, Bath has also been dubbed one of the trendiest.

European Best Destinations has released its list of the trendiest places to visit in Europe in 2025.

The city will be celebrating the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen’s birth in 2025 – although the Jane Austen Centre remains one of its permanent regency attractions[/caption]

The European spots were ranked based on responses from over one million travellers from 158 countries.

European destinations in the top 20 were shortlisted thanks to their quality of life, sustainable development, year-round cultural offering and their growing popularity on social media platforms.

City-state Monaco topped the list, with Riga, Latvia’s capital city, coming in second place.

Dubrovnik & Cavtat in Croatia took third place, while Madrid nabbed fourth, and Namur in Belgium rounded off the top five.

Bath was the only place in the UK ranked in the top 20, coming in 11th place.

The historic English city has already been named one of the best 52 Places to Travel in 2025 by the New York Times.

Located in Somerset, Bath is the only city in the UK to be a UNESCO World Heritage Site in its entirety.

It has been awarded the accolade because of its Roman remains, Georgian architecture, hot springs and town planning.

And 2025 is already proving to be a big year for the historic English city, with celebrations planned for the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen’s birth.

Despite being born in Steventon in North Hampshire, the acclaimed English novelist lived in Bath while writing classics like Persuasion and Northanger Abbey.

Fans of the author should make a beeline to the Jane Austen Centre, which gives visitors a snapshot of her life.

A costumed guide talks visitors through Jane Austen’s early life and her legacy before guests can tour interactive displays featuring priceless pieces of memorabilia like unpublished manuscripts.

Visitors can also immerse themselves with regency trends at the centre’s dress-up station.

Travel writer Jo Kessel recently visited Bath on a Jane Austen trip.

She said: “The best place to start is Gay Street’s Jane Austen Centre, where I saw costumed actors from Sense and Sensibility and Persuasion showing me Empire Line gowns to try.”

Pride and Prejudice womaniser Mr Wickham also entered who despite being a cad, allowed to ‘help’ me with my outfits.

“We even played Spillikins, a game loved by Jane, using matchsticks, although I was easily beaten by the actors.”

On the floor above the Jane Austen Centre lies the Regency Tea Room where visitors can book an afternoon tea.

Bath is also a must-visit for Bridgerton fans because the city is used as a filming location, with examples including The Abbey Deli (pictured) which is used as the Modiste dress shop in the show[/caption]

The cosy Georgian tea room serves China black teas in pretty floral cups as well as delicate finger sandwiches, homemade cakes and scones.

Several themed Jane Austen events are also taking place in the city throughout the year like the Persuasion Ball on May 31.

There’s also a Sanditon Ball on June 28, the Jane Austen Country Fair in July and a Birthday Ball on December 13.

A retelling of Pride and Prejudice will also take place at The Theatre Royal Bath.

And for the first time ever, No. 8 College Street, where Jane Austen spent her final few weeks, will open to the public.

If you can’t afford the expense of a ball, a free audio walking tour of the city covers its main sites.

Created by Visit Bath, the tour includes extracts from Jane Austen’s novels and descriptions of Bath in its Georgian heyday.

While the walking tour runs for 90 minutes, listeners can pause the walk at any point.

The walking tour begins at Gravel Walk — the lovers’ lane of Austen’s Day — before arriving at the Royal Crescent where Jane Cooper, the author’s cousin, lived.

Other stops include The Circus, No 13 Queen Square and No 25 Gay Street — all of which have links to the Austen family but are now private homes.

Earlier this year, Bath was also named as one of the best places to travel in 2025 by Time Out[/caption]

Bath isn’t just a must-visit for fans of Jane Austen, with the city used as a backdrop for hit Netflix show Bridgerton.

The show has been praised by the managing director of the tourism body Visit West, Kathryn Davis for attracting a younger audience to the region.

She told The Times: “It’s brought a younger and more diverse audience to the city and the region.”

The Netflix drama has also inspired its own themed events with musical Bridgerton tours of some of the filming locations.

Bath is also home to the Roman Baths, which remain just as popular today as they did in the Regency Era.

Built in 70AD by the Romans as a bathing and social space, the Roman Baths are thought to be one of the best-preserved Roman remains in the world.

Every day, 1,170,000 litres of steaming spring water are pumped into the bath where it reaches temperatures of 46C.

Before tourists can reach the famous bath, they’re led through an extensive maze of ruins and an interactive museum.

I was parking shamed in a mum bay – they slammed my ‘big car, little brain’ & called me an idiot but I did nothing wrong

A MUM was left baffled when she found a rude note calling her an “idiot” had been left on her car.

Jem took to her TikTok page to post a video explaining the situation, as she revealed the note read: “Big car, little brain, thanks for leaving room to get my pram in boot, idiot.”

It was even punctuated with a “lot of underlining” and a “lot of capital letters”.

However, she insisted the note was completely out of order, as she hadn’t done anything wrong by parking in the parent and child bay – given that she needed room to get her son in and out.

“Clearly whoever wrote this needed a parent and child bay and I needed a parent and child bay,” she explained.

Jem went on to point out that the person probably shouldn’t have reversed their car into the space if they needed to access their boot.

But it’s hard to do anything but reverse in when the “normal” car parking spaces are so tiny – as they are where she lives.

Despite that, Jem said it’s not “the wisest of decisions” to reverse in if you need to access the boot, because the only way to do that is to park “half on the road, half not”.

“So whoever wrote me this delightful message on a morning where I’m already struggling, thank you,” Jem concluded.

“But the primary reason, this is why we need more parent and child bays!”

She also used the caption of the video to point out that while disabled vehicles are legally allowed to park in a parent and child space, it isn’t the same thing the other way around.

“A lot of us parents have said it, put the parking bays further away, we don’t care on the extra steps, we just want to be able to park and get our children in and out,” Jem continued.

“At least once per week I have to reverse my car out of a bay, leaving Jasper in his pram, to be able to create space to get in!”

The comments section was almost immediately filled with people weighing in on the situation, with virtually all of the remarks in support of Jem.

“I never reverse into a space if I need the pushchair out for this reason!” one said.

“Not sure what you were supposed to have done differently!”

“Such a rude note!” another sighed.

“They surely could’ve moved their car forward a tad and got their stuff in?

Everything you need to know about parking

“Cars are getting bigger and the spaces in car parks aren’t. We need new regulations!”

“Yeah, that sounds like a them problem – you’re not a mind reader,” a third commented.

“Completely their fault,” someone else insisted.

As another pointed out: “There weren’t parent & child spaces years ago & people managed.

“Everyone is so entitled these days, there was no need to leave a nasty note like that.”
