2 days agoworld NewsComments Off on EastEnders fans spot SECOND huge blunder as Ian Beale makes miraculous ‘recovery’ moments after being shot
EASTENDERS fans have been quick to spot another major blunder during the show’s live episode.
Whilst the show went off mainly without a hitch and ran smoother than its previous two live episodes, eagle-eyed fans have now noticed a clear-as-day blunder thanks to Ian Beale.
Ian attempted to grab his tea with the arm that had been shot during the live episodeBut he quickly corrected himself in the nick of time
Viewers of the BBC soap will remember how Ian was shot in the arm by Cindy Beale during a struggle over a gun whilst at home.
The moment came after Kathy admitted she whacked Cindy with a shovel and as revenge, Cindy threatened to take her son’s life.
In an attempt to get the gun off her, Ian and Cindy had a tussle but it resulted in her shooting Ian in the arm.
Ian was seen wrapping his arm around the wound and was later involved in another accident when Cindy shoved him into the road in an attempt to have him ran over.
Although he was fine, he was still in considerable pain with the gunshot wound.
However, by the live episode, taking place just moments after he was shot, Ian appeared to be in hardly any pain at all.
He also was failed to be seen by paramedics despite his injuries and instead focused on rallying up moral support amongst the group.
In another on-screen blunder, his mum Kathy brought him over a cup of tea in the cafe.
At first he appeared to reach out with the arm that had been shot but quickly corrected himself as he switched his hands just before picking up the mug.
But this certainly did not go unnoticed by fans as many took to X to comment on the moment.
One wrote: “I think Ian has forgot he’s been shot.”
Another added: “Anyone else see Ian reach for the tea and then remembering he get shot and changing arms!?”
A third wrote: “Okay so Ian has been shot in the arm but hasn’t had medical attention??”
It led a fourth to speculate: “Ian must have lost so much blood by now having been shot.”
Before a fifth penned: “Ian got shot and is somehow in the cafe.”
During harrowing scenes, Sonia’s newborn baby, Julia, was feared to be dead as she could be seen attempting to revive the tiny tot.
Seconds later, with Julia now seemingly healthy, Sonia could be seen speaking to the baby but many were quick to insist it had gotten much larger in the moments that had passed.
Discussing the moment, one person wrote: “Why has Sonia’s baby aged 10 months in 15 seconds.”
A second added: “Sonia’s baby has tripled in size within 5 mins…”
While a third remarked: “Size of that baby.”
Ian didn’t get medical attention and instead focused on rallying support

RESTOCKING your beauty bag doesn’t have to cost you an arm and a leg.
A make-up expert has shared why you can now get luxury buys for cheaper than ever.
instagram/salihughesBeauty expert Sali Hughes explained why you shouldn’t splurge when restocking your make-up bag[/caption]
instagram/salihughesThe beauty journalist shared the budget-friendly brands she recommends to save money[/caption]
Appearing on the Nip, Tuck, Not Giving A… podcast, beauty journalist Sali Hughes revealed how the quality of products has changed over the years and her favourite budget brands.
According to the pro, “you absolutely don’t” need to splurge on cosmetics.
In fact, there’s even less reason to fork out on high-end brands nowadays.
“When I started my career there was much more of a difference than there is now between high end and low end,” Sali explained.
“Nowadays, the fact is, something in Superdrug is better than a luxury lipstick 15 years ago.”
She credited technology, research, and development for the improvement in product quality.
Sali pointed out that is now almost impossible to find low-quality make-up.
“It might be something that isn’t right for you but it isn’t totally rubbish,” she said.
She described the standard of modern cosmetics as “high across the board”.
“A luxury product 15 years ago is about the same quality as a low-end product now, if not worse than,” Sali added.
She explained that the only reason people are spending big money on products nowadays is because they’re “buying into the brand”.
Sali also revealed the buys worth spending extra pounds on if you’re so inclined.
“If you were going to have a mix of products, I personally would ring fence the highest spend on things like foundation, primers, concealers, those sorts of things,” she said.
“I would also say blush, if you’re into textures like I am.”
On the other hand, she recommended “scaling back” on products such as pencils and lip liners.

“So if you look at a brand like L’Oréal Paris; Maybelline, Garnier, all of those brands come under the L’Oréal umbrella, YSL, all of them are owned by the same company.
“The amount they’re spending on mascara a year, you can really look to their lower brands and they’re all really good quality mascara.”

A DARTS star came agonisingly close to becoming the first-ever person to “hit the greatest nine-darter ever.”
The moment came in the Modus Super Series darts clash between Darren Brown and Dan Nicholls.
Darts star Darren Brown came close to the ‘greatest nine-darter ever’The ace needed to finish on three bullseyes
The latter led 3-0 in their best-of-seven-legs clash.
But Brown mounted an incredible comeback to win the match 4-3.
And his stunning path to victory came in a do-or-die leg to pull it back to 3-1.
Brown had struggled to get his darts on target throughout the game.
Yet he started the crunch round by hitting three treble 20s for a top score of 180.
Nicholls had little in the way of response with his throws.
And fans then waited to Brown to aim at the treble 20s once again.
However, he instead decided to target the treble 19s.

Incredibly, he hit all three for a score of 171 while making it six perfect darts on the bounce.
Another rocky round for Nicholls saw Brown step up to complete his nine-darter.
But having opted for the 19s over the usual 20s with his second throw, it instead opened the path for Brown to complete a nine-darter in the most unlikely of ways.
The usual route in the sport is to hit two 180s, followed by a final checkout of 141.
Yet Brown’s path of 180 and 171 meant he had to hit THREE bullseyes instead.
The incredible feat has never been achieved before in darts.
And Brown left fans stunned as his first darts smacked the bull perfectly in the centre.
It led to a huge moment in the match as he lined up a second dart.
However, this one missed its mark and instead wound up hitting the 25.
Brown visibly grimaced as he realised his chances of hitting a unique nine-darter were over.
Despite the setback, he won the leg comfortably before turning the game on its head completely to win 4-3.
Fans were left seriously impressed, with one saying: “Unlucky.”
Another declared: “Don’t see many attempts via this route.”

A NEW expansion at London St Pancras train station could triple the amount of passengers heading to Europe – as well as add new routes.
The station overhaul will mean more room for international trains at St Pancras station and even a direct link to destinations such as Milan, Geneva and Zurich.

AlamyIt could mean Brits could travel to Milan by train rather than by flight[/caption]
AlamyTrains to Geneva are also on the cards[/caption]
St Pancras has been looking to expand its station for some time now, hoping to increase its capacity to handle more passengers.
As many as 2,400 passengers an hour could use the station under the new plans, the Times reports, which could even go up to 5,000 in the longer term.
And both London St Pancras Highspeed and French operator Getlink have revealed plans to launch new routes between the UK and Europe in a new partnership.
Getlink said direct services could serve Frankfurt and Cologne as well as Geneva and Zurich. Eventually services could reach as far as Milan.
Yann Leriche, the chief executive of Getlink, said: “We are keen to drive forward attractive opportunities for low-carbon [travel] with a range of new destinations in Germany, Switzerland and France.
“This partnership with London St Pancras Highspeed is essential for accelerating this momentum.”
Robert Sinclair, the chief executive of London St Pancras Highspeed added that they hoped it would “encourage new and existing train operators to expand capacity and launch new destinations unlocking the potential of a fully connected Europe“.
The news of the expansion has been big news with over 40 companies expressing interest in a contract to develop plans St Pancras station.
And London St Pancras Highspeed hope that the new terminal will see more Eurostar competitors.
Eurostaris currently the only operator with routes from the UK, connectingLondontoFrance,Belgiumand TheNetherlands.
But many companies have been interested in putting their trains alongside Eurostar.
Richard Branson‘s company, Virgin, is preparing to put a dozen high-speed trains to rival Eurostar.
Having scraped their domestic train routes back in 2019 after more than 20 years, the new international routes could launch by 2029.
They’re not the only ones wanting to take on the tunnel as start-up Evolyn announced plans for trains between London and Paris back in 2023.
The new fleet, consisting of 12 Avelia trains, would launch a limited service as soon as this year.
The Channel Tunnel opened in 1994 and according to the designers has significant spare capacity meaning traffic could safely double.
And a number of routes from the UK have been scrapped in recent years.
Eurostar once operated from Ashford International in Kent although this was scrapped during the pandemic.
A huge petition has called for the return of the international train although they have said this won’t be addressed until at least next year.

2 days agoworld NewsComments Off on I was told to go to a public loo when I asked to breastfeed my tot at Greggs – they wouldn’t eat their lunch in a toilet
A HORRIFIED mum claims Greggs staff ”broke Equality law” by banning her from breastfeeding in store – telling her to do it in the TOILET instead.
Rebecca Reeve visited the Westwood Cross Greggs branch in Thanet, Kent, with her partner Jack Hinkley, 25, and her six-month-old Alfie Hinkley on February 16th.
GettyMum Rebecca claimed that she was told to take her tot to a public loo to breastfeed him[/caption]
Kennedy Newsand MediaAfter wolfing down their food quickly, Rebecca says the trio walked to M&S where she was able to breastfeed her baby in public with no issue[/caption]
Rebecca will be attending the store with other mums at the weekend to ‘protest’ against her treatmentKennedy Newsand Media
But after forking out £16 on sandwiches, cakes and sausage rolls, the 23-year-old claims when she asked politely she was told by a male worker she couldn’t breastfeed her baby in-store.
When the carer disputed the worker’s reply, Rebecca claims he said their ”company policy” didn’t allow for breastfeeding in the store.
The mum-of-one claims she was even more shocked when they told her to go and feed her baby in the toilet or on the bench outside in the cold.
In the UK, breastfeeding in public is legal and protected by the Equality Act 2010 and it’s illegal to discriminate against someone for breastfeeding including asking them to stop or leave.
After wolfing down their food quickly, Rebecca says the trio walked to M&S where she was able to breastfeed her baby in public with no issue.
Horrified, Rebecca claims Greggs broke the law and is now sharing her experience to highlight how she was treated.
Greggs said they were ”very sorry” this happened and customers are welcome to breastfeed in their shops.
Rebecca, from Thanet, Kent, said: “After ordering my food, I said my baby needed feeding and asked if that was okay and he [the Greggs trainee worker] went to check.
“At this point, I wasn’t asking to breastfeed, I was just asking if it was okay to sit on the table.
“Another man came out and said I wasn’t allowed to do that. I said ‘do what?’ and he said ‘breastfeed in here’.
“He said it was their policy and told me I needed to do it in a public toilet or sit outside.
“I was very angry straight away. I wouldn’t eat my lunch in a public toilet and it made me feel disappointed in this day and age that they wanted me to feed my baby in here.
“Also, it was freezing outside. It made me feel that my baby didn’t matter to them.
“I was very embarrassed. I went and sat down with my partner and quickly ate our food.
“When I sat down, there was a female member of staff cleaning. I asked her if it was okay to breastfeed my baby as I thought her attitude might be a bit different.
What are the recommendations around breastfeeding?
The NHS recommends breastfeeding your baby exclusively (feeding them breast milk only) for the first six months, but it’s completely up to you to decide when you want to bring it to an end – and there’s really no right or wrong way to do it.
The NHS says weaning often happens gradually as your baby begins to eat more solid foods.
They note that solid food shouldn’t replace breast milk, as there is evidence to suggest breast milk helps a baby’s digestive system when processing solid food for the first time.
“Once they are eating solids, your baby will still need to have breast milk or formula as their main drink up to at least their first birthday,” recommends the NHS.
“Cows’ milk isn’t suitable as a main drink for babies under one, although it can be added to foods, such as mashed potatoes.”
You can also combine breastfeeding with formula, too and the NHS says “phasing out” of breastfeeding is often the easiest way.
For example, dropping one feed in the day or at night time.
After around a week, you can begin to think about dropping another.
“If your baby is younger than one year, you’ll need to replace the dropped breastfeed with a formula feed from a bottle or (if they are over six months) a cup or beaker, instead,” they say.
You can breastfeed for as long as you want, and while the NHS recommends breastfeeding your baby exclusively for the first six months, you shouldn’t feel like you cannot continue for longer.
The World Health Organization says: “Exclusive breastfeeding is recommended up to 6 months of age, with continued breastfeeding along with appropriate complementary foods up to two years of age or beyond.”
“She said ‘no sorry’ and said it was company policy and told me to go to a public toilet or the bench [outside]. It felt to me that they had been told to say this.”
Following the incident, Rebecca says she rang her mum upset who then phoned the Greggs store to complain and claims she was again told breastfeeding wasn’t allowed under their policy.
Since taking her complaint higher with Greggs, Rebecca says she has been issued a full apology from the firm’s head office and the company has opened up an investigation into the situation.
Rebecca said: “My mum said they had broken the law. At the time, I didn’t know there were laws around it.
“Breastfeeding in public is allowed in public so Greggs have broken the law.
“I don’t know if an apology can cut the fact that I couldn’t feed my son when he was hungry.
“It’s stressful as it is when you’re a new mum and you do feel vulnerable.
“If I had taken him to the toilet to feed him, what would that have made me look like as a mum? I would have looked like an awful mum.
“I was very angry and disappointed and it has put me off going back into this Greggs.”
Today [21/02], Rebecca is meeting with a regional branch manager to discuss the matter further and will be attending the store with other mums at the weekend to ”protest” against her treatment.
Rebecca said: “It’s not really a protest. It’s just a group of mums and we’re all going to go into the Greggs and sit and feed our babies, which we have the right to do and can’t be kicked out for it.
“We’re not doing it to badmouth the company or have signs and shouting, we’re just doing it to show this specific branch it is allowed.”
A Greggs spokesman said: “We are very sorry that this has happened – customers are welcome to breastfeed in our shops.
“We have been in close contact with the customer and, as a matter of urgency this week, have worked with our shop teams to ensure this does not happen again.”
