Apple major iPhone trick to help you understand and SPEAK foreign languages
APPLE has unveiled a futuristic new feature that will help millions of people overcome language barriers.
Using artificial intelligence (AI), your iPhone may soon be able to translate conversations on the fly.

It will work in the Messages, FaceTime and the Phone app.
For example, if you’re studying abroad and wanting to make plans with some new friends but are stuck behind a language barrier.
The new Live Translate feature means each text is instantly translated after receiving it – or sending it.
On FaceTime, you’ll receive instant live translated captions as you speak.
While on a phone call, your words are translated as you speak.
It even works when you call or text someone who doesn’t have an iPhone.
Apple noted that all your conversations will be processed and translated on the device for security purposes.
That means they’re not being sent to servers elsewhere to be translated.
Apple has also added more translation capabilities to Apple Music.
Listeners will now be able to have lyrics translated in the app, alongside a new pronunciation tool to help you learn your favourite foreign songs.

Every iPhone model that won’t get free iOS 26 upgrade revealed – millions to miss out as exact list confirmed by Apple

MILLIONS of older iPhones are set to be locked out of Apple’s next big update.
Apple fans across the world are due to get the free iOS 26 upgrade later this year, giving their iPhones bonus features at no extra cost.

That’ll include a robot that holds on phone calls so you don’t have to, the ability to send polls in Messages, a translation feature that lets you understand foreign languages in real time – plus a brand new “glassy” look for your iPhone icons and menus.
These tempting perks were announced during today’s special Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) event at Apple’s California HQ.
It’s coming to dozens of iPhone models going back years – but not all Apple customers are on the lucky list.
Several once-posh iPhone models are being cut-off, despite being able to get last year’s iOS 18 update.
Phones as far back as the iPhone 11 and iPhone SE (2nd gen) will be able to get iOS 26.
But if you’ve got an iPhone XR, iPhone XS, or iPhone XS Max, you’re out in the cold.
Anything older than that won’t be eligible for the upgrade either – but that’s no surprise, as they would’ve missed iOS 18 too.
Here’s the full list of iPhone models getting Apple’s iOS 26 update:
- iPhone 16e
- iPhone 16
- iPhone 16 Plus
- iPhone 16 Pro
- iPhone 16 Pro Max
- iPhone 15
- iPhone 15 Plus
- iPhone 15 Pro

- iPhone 12 Pro Max
- iPhone 11
- iPhone 11 Pro
- iPhone 11 Pro Max

- iPhone SE (2nd gen)
If you’ve got an older iPhone, now would be a good time to upgrade – or you’ll miss out.
THE SECOND CUT-OFF
It’s worth noting that just because you can get iOS 26 doesn’t mean you’ll unlock the full suite of features either.
Some artificial intelligence perks under the Apple Intelligence banner only appear on the very newest model.
For those, you’ll need one of the following gadgets:
- iPhone 16e
- iPhone 16
- iPhone 16 Plus
- iPhone 16 Pro
- iPhone 16 Pro Max
- iPhone 15 Pro
- iPhone 15 Pro Max

You don’t necessarily need Apple Intelligence to get by, but it has some handy benefits.
It lets you create custom Genmoji emoji, can help you rewrite emails, and lets you use Siri to tap into ChatGPT.
WHAT’S NEW IN IOS 26?
For a start, it’s called iOS 26 and not iOS 19 as expected.
That means Apple is matching the main year for the software, making naming simpler. This is true for iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro software too.

There’s a new look for apps with glassy, translucent, round-edged icons and circular buttons, and a transparent design borrowed from the Apple Vision Pro headset.
The Phone app has been upgraded to streaming your Favourites, Recents, and Voicemails into a single panel.
Safari has a glossy new design, and the Camera app has been simplified.
Messages now allows you to send polls, and set synced backgrounds for your chats.

And there’s a new Apple Intelligence feature that lets you combine two emoji into one.
The London Underground is running vintage 1930s trains on one of its top lines next month
YOU can ride on a vintage 1930s tube on the London Underground next month.
Dating back 160 years, the London Underground is the oldest transport system of its kind in the world.

And whilst the Piccadilly line is due to get new trains, the London Transport Museum is first allowing people to ride on an art deco Underground train from 1938.
The restored heritage train will be running along the Piccadilly line from Friday, July 11 to Sunday, July 13.
However, you won’t be paying the normal tube fare.
Riders will need to buy a ticket in advance, with prices varying according to each day.
On Friday, the train will take passengers on a return journey from Northfields and around the Heathrow loop via Terminal 4.
There will be four services throughout the day and a ‘gold ticket’ for the front carriage is £30 per adult and £20 for kids.
Bronze tickets costs £25 per adult and £15 per child.
On the Saturday, there will be three 90-minute return journeys from Acton Town to Uxbridge.
Tickets for these rides will cost £27.50 if you want to sit in the front or back carriages or £17.50 for children.
The rest of the carriages will cost £25 per adult and £15 for children.
On the final day – Sunday – riders can hop on for one of two one-way journeys from Ealing Broadway to Cockfosters for £30 in the gold car, or £20 for children.
Or £25 for the bronze cars (£15 for children).
Tickets can be booked on the London Transport Museums’ website.
According to Transport for London, the Piccadilly line opened as the Great Northern, Piccadilly & Brompton Railway on 15 December 1906.
Originally, it ran between Finsbury Park and Hammersmith and the line remained much the same until the 1930s when it expanded rapidly, incorporating stations which are now regarded as classic examples of period architecture.
A £100milllion beachfront attraction with indoor gardens and pools is also set to transform a seaside town.
Plus, an up-and-coming city has revealed a major new attraction opening in 2026 – with links to Hollywood.
