I got a fence to block out my neighbour’s garden – there’s so much mess the fence FELL & then they angered me even more

A WOMAN has declared a ”neighbour war” after her neighbour’s garden was so full of rubbish it caused her fence to collapse.

Furious social media user @hughesrachy took to TikTok to rant after the mess in the neighbour‘s garden caused her wooden fence to crumble – and eventually fall down.

The TikToker has since declared ‘neighbour wars’[/caption]

According to the woman, the person living next door had accumulated a pile of items which the man stored outside.

A recent video posted online also revealed ”the state” of the garden, jampacked with full bin bags, plastic storage boxes, wires and even what appeared to be an old washing machine.

There also seemed to be old tech, a canopy with no cover on top, a string of garden lights, a swing frame with no swings and more.

The TikToker claimed that they ”had a fence in front of this” – but that the neighbours ”had put all kinds of stuff inbetween the two fences”.

This, she claimed in the video, caused her fence to fall down and the TikToker was left with a ”crumbled fence behind”.

After approaching the neighbours and asking to go halves to cover the cost of a new fence, the woman said they ”refused” to chip in.

Eventually, the neighbour‘s fence collapsed entirely and fell down into her garden, revealing a huge mess on the other side.

The woman went on: ”So had it removed was it wasn’t safe.”

Unfortunately for the TikTok user, it didn’t end there.

Not only is she now left with no fence and privacy whatsoever, she claimed the neighbour ”won’t pay and is waiting for her ”to pay to get a new one”.

”How is this ok?” she was outraged, declaring the start of ”neighbour wars” in the caption.

Since being posted online, the clip has taken the internet by storm, amassing close to 460k views in just 16 hours.

It also has over 2,200 likes and 345 shares – however, the TikToker has turned commenting off.

How to create privacy in your garden

CREATING privacy in your garden can be achieved in a number of ways depending on your budget, and the size of your space. Here are some effective ways to enhance privacy in your garden:

1. Fencing

  • Install a tall, solid wooden or vinyl fence. This is one of the most straightforward ways to gain immediate privacy. Or use lattice panels, trellis, or slatted fencing to add a decorative touch while still offering privacy.

2. Hedges and Plants

  • Fast-growing evergreen shrubs or trees like Leylandii, Thuja, or Bamboo along the boundary of your garden can help with privacy. Grow a dense hedge using plants like Boxwood, Privet, or Laurel. It may take time to grow, but it provides a natural and green privacy screen. Use climbers like Ivy, Clematis, or Wisteria on fences or trellises to create a lush, green privacy barrier.

3. Outdoor Curtains

  • Hang outdoor curtains around pergolas, gazebos, or patios for an easy-to-adjust privacy solution.

4. Sound Barriers

  • A water fountain or small waterfall can help drown out noise, adding to the sense of privacy. Or install fencing designed to reduce noise if privacy from sound is also a concern.

£20,000 garden fence fine

UK boundary rules mean your humble garden fence could turn into a legal nightmare if you get it wrong.

Whether you’re upgrading panels or building from scratch, the regulations are clear and local councils aren’t afraid to crack down.

New rules which came in last week under the The Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (England) Order 2015 outline what homeowners can build without needing full planning permission.

Gurpreet Chhokar, Which? Legal Expert, said: “If you’re thinking of putting up a new garden fence this summer, there are a few important things to bear in mind to make sure you don’t break any laws and find yourself landed with a fine.”

Back garden fence

For a back garden fence, you’re allowed a fence up to two metres high (that’s about six foot six) without needing planning permission.

Gurpreet said: ” if you don’t have planning permission then your fence can’t be any higher than two metres from the ground.”

Go any higher, even with a decorative trellis, and you’ll need to get approval first.

Skip this step and you could be forced to tear it down, or even worse – face enforcement action.

Front fence

At the front of your property, things get stricter.

Fences can’t go above one metre if you live next to a footpath, road or public space.

That’s just over three feet tall.

It’s designed to help visibility for drivers and pedestrians but plenty of homeowners are caught out.

Breaching planning rules can lead to an enforcement notice and, in some cases, fines.

If your fence causes a statutory nuisance, such as flooding or blocked drains, you could face penalties of up to £5,000 or £20,000 for a business under environmental regulations.

Ignore it, and things can escalate to court.

Neighbour disputes are the most common property complaint in the UK and they often boil down to where the boundary actually is.

Before building, measure up carefully and chat things through with your neighbour.

Snapping a few photos and getting a handshake agreement could save you a legal headache down the line.

The major new £422million airport set to transform European island with 18million passengers a year

GREECE’S biggest island is getting a huge new £422million airport.

Heraklion, on the island of Crete, is currently preparing for a new airport in Kastelli which is scheduled to open in February 2027.

According to the New Heraklion International Airport, the new airport will serve 10million passengers each year, after opening.

This number will then rise to 18million after some time.

There will be 19 boarding gates, eight of which will be of combined use for Schengen and Non-Schengen flights.

There will be space for 27 aircraft and also a terminal building with five levels of retail space and permanent exhibition areas.

A masterplan map also shows an area shaded in purple that suggest future retail space.

In addition, the airport is due to be one of the biggest in the country and when it opens it will replace the existing Nikos Kazantzakis International Airport in Heraklion.

Nikos Kazantzakis International Airport opened back in 1937, however, it can only accommodate eight million passengers a year.

Kastelli International Airport is being built to handle the growing number of tourists heading to Greece each year.

The airport will be located a 25-minute drive away from Heraklion, which is the largest city on the island.

In total, the airport is expected to cost €500million (£422million) to build and generate a total of 7,500 jobs in the area as well as a further 37,000 indirect jobs.

In addition, the new airport is expected to give new life to Crete’s tourism.

According to Tornos News, the new airport will create a number of new roads and contain one runway which stretches 3,200 metres long with one parallel aircraft movement taxiway,

A trial launch of of the airport will take place next summer, before a full opening in 2027.

Currently, airlines including easyJet, Jet2 and British Airways fly to Crete.

These are likely to move to the new airport when it opens.

And there are a number of other new exciting airports opening around the world.

A new £25billion mega airport is also opening in Europe to ‘take on Heathrow and Dubai’ with 65milllion passengers.

Plus, one of the world’s busiest airports reveals plans for new £7billion mega terminal with 50million more passengers.

FAI finances made Hallgrimsson’s home-based Ireland team dream impossible as Josh Honohan given chance to wave LOI flag

HEIMIR Hallgrimsson declared last July that he hoped to bring together a home-based Ireland team in the winter to assess League of Ireland players.

At the time, the Icelander said: “Even if it gives only one player or two players for the next Fifa national team window, it is worth it.”

His idea was coolly received by the clubs — who did not want players playing out of season — and by the cash-strapped FAI.

Ireland women’s manager Carla Ward had to clear it with her bosses that she could bring 24 rather than 23 players into her camp for last week’s games.

So a whole new men’s team was not financially viable.

But Shamrock Rovers’ Josh Honohan is in the Ireland squad for tonight’s game with Senegal and Tuesday’s match with Luxembourg.

Hallgrimsson could not bring a whole squad together for a look but he is a regular attendee on Friday nights and is doing his homework.

Honohan has the talent and ability to make his scouting  ‘worth it’.

Bargain Hunt star David Dickinson shows off £280k Bentley as he does his weekly shop at supermarket

FORMER Bargain Hunt presenter David Dickinson turned up to do his shopping in a six-figure Bentley.

The 83-year-old was spotted at the Marks & Spencer Handforth Dean in his native Cheshire which he had driven to in his Bentley GT Supersport.

Clad in a brown leather jacket and jeans, the TV presenter pushed a trolley full of shopping towards the black convertible on Thursday afternoon.

The  TV icon was an antique dealer before a chance meeting with a producer at a barbecue led the BBC making a two-part documentary about him preparing for an antiques show at the Olympia.

He became a favourite among viewers thanks to his appearances as an antiques expert on This Morning and The Antiques Show on BBC Two.

David then landed his own game show called Bargain Hunt which cemented his status as a TV star and he would go on to front for nine years until 2003.

“I couldn’t understand it at first I was just doing what came naturally but everyone seemed to pick up on my catchphrases such as ‘cheap as chips’ and ‘what a bobby dazzler’,” David said of the show on his website.

“I was delighted when the show won a National Television Award in 2002 and I was there to accept it.”

After leaving Bargain Hunt, David had a lucrative TV career which helped earn him his estimated £2million personal worth.

David also competed in reality TV series, Strictly Come Dancing in 2004 and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here the following year.

“When I was asked to go into the jungle in 2005, everyone advised me against it but I thought ‘I’ll give it a go’,” David said on his website about his stint in the Aussie jungle.

“Some people go to a health farm and pay a couple of thousand pounds, but in there I lost more than a stone and had a detox, just a shame the weather was so rainy I was hoping to top up the tan.”

The antiques expert has long been a car-lover and has previously owned four Chevrolet Corvettes and several Rolls-Royces.

He explained his love for Bentleys after getting his first one in 2003.

“Bentley is a deluxe vehicle; a wonderful, classic marque. But it’s not OTT,” he told The Times in the same year.

“The attention to detail is fantastic.”

‘Nothing we can do about it’ – Man City star breaks ranks to SLAM Club World Cup and says team-mates want rest

MANUEL AKANJI has questioned Manchester City’s wisdom in taking part in the Club World Cup – insisting it could wreck the team’s fitness for next season.

Pep Guardiola‘s men endured a first trophyless season since 2017 after finishing third in the Premier League and losing the FA Cup final.

However, their campaign could continue until mid-July if they complete a seven-game run to the Club World Cup final.

Centre-back Akanji, already in the US on Switzerland duty, will remain Stateside for the Fifa tournament.

The 29-year-old said: “I have been a strong critic of this competition for some time now.

“We players would love to have some holidays, and some time for our bodies to rest.

“My City teammates are not exactly overjoyed about the tournament either.

“But it’s now right in our faces, and there is nothing we can do about it.

“If we take part, then of course we want to win it.

“But if we reach the final, then the time period for us to recover ahead of the new season will become even shorter.”

Akanji, City’s 2022 buy from Borussia Dortmund, fears fitness woes might impact their ability to once again win trophies.

He added: “Set against the expectations we have, this hasn’t been a good season.

“We finished third in the Premier League, three points behind Arsenal, and qualified for the Champions League.

“But it is still our worst campaign for some time.

“However, Pep Guardiola still said he was proud of us for never giving up.

“The season could have finished far worse than it did.”

Meanwhile, the Citizens will start their Club World Cup campaign against Wydad AC from Morocco on June 18.

They will then face the Saudi side Al Ain FC five days later and then the Italian giants Juventus on June 26

‘A difficult challenge’ – Carla Ward’s verdict as Ireland’s Nations League promotion play-off opponent revealed

IRELAND will face Belgium in the UEFA Women’s Nations League promotion-relegation play-off in October looking to secure an easier passage to the 2027 World Cup.

The Girls in Green were drawn against the Red Flames in a tie where they will be underdogs against a side that are going to this summer’s European Championships.

Belgium will be the heavy favourites going into the tie

But their Nations League campaign was disappointing as they won just two of their League A games against England and Portugal to finish third and go into a play-off.

And Ireland boss Carla Ward acknowledged that it will be a tough challenge for the Girls in Green.

Ward said: “We now know our opponents for this Play-Off and our preparation for those two games starts now.

“We know that Belgium are a very good team with a strong history in women’s football, so this will be a difficult challenge for us but one that we are excited to take on.

“Having won five of our six group games in the Nations League and ended with a very good performance against Slovenia, we are building day by day, game by game.

“We have a fantastic team spirit, a brilliant support staff and a group of players who are ready to take that next step in their progression.

“We want to reach League A to play against top-ranked teams and be in the best position possible going into the 2027 FIFA World Cup qualifiers next year.”

Winning the play-off to secure League A status for the World Cup qualifiers is a big boost for that aim.

If Ireland are in League A, Ireland will compete for automatic qualification but are guaranteed a play-off spot even before a ball is kicked.

But if they are in League B, there is no automatic qualification and the Girls in Green would have to finish in the top three of a four team group – something they would be expected to do in League B – to secure a play-off.

The home leg will be on Friday October 24 though no venue has been confirmed yet with the away leg in Belgium on Tuesday October 28.

Alfie Boe, 51, spotted on romantic date after Ted Lasso romance and marriage split amid cheating rumours

ALFIE Boe has seemingly found love again after being spotted on a romantic date around central London with a mystery blonde.

The West End legend, 51, was seen holding hands with his new lady friend as they spent the day out together, grabbing lunch at Italian restaurant, La Brasseria Milanese.

Alfie, who has signed up to this year’s series of Celebrity Masterchef, looked smitten with his new girlfriend, with the pair keeping it casual in jeans and T-shirts.

The Les Miserables star kept covered in a brown suede jacket, while his date wore a cuddly grey cardigan.

He later gave her his jacket to shield her from the cold as they ate outside.

The new romance comes after Alfie briefly dated Ted Lasso icon Hannah Waddingham two years ago.

The Sun exclusively revealed that the pair began going on dates in late 2022, with Hannah even managing to evade photographers to sneak him into Eurovision, which she hosted six months later in 2023.

However, the source revealed the pair “fizzled out” shortly afterwards, but remained on good terms despite not working out as a couple.

Alfie has been back on the dating scene since August 2020, when he announced he had split from his wife of 16 years, Sarah.

Together, the couple share two children, 20-year-old Grace and 16-year-old Alfred.

In a statement released by his representatives at the time, Alfie said: “After speculation about my marriage to Sarah ending, I can confirm that we have separated.

“I have nothing but love and respect for Sarah who’s been an incredible partner and an amazing mother to our two beautiful children and everything is very amicable.”

Alfie later admitted that he went to a “dark place” after his marriage breakdown, revealing on Freeze The Fear with Wim Hof that he spent time in a facility for depression and “missed what he had” with his wife.

Following the split, Alfie went on to date Liv Knight-Butler, a fashion blogger 21 years his junior, and threw himself into work alongside longtime pal and collaborator, Michael Ball.

They completed their latest tour with a performance to thousands at London’s O2 Arena in April.

Adam Azim out to prove he is ready to fight American star Devin Haney after accepting bout on ONE WEEKS’ notice

ADAM AZIM is ready to prove he is ready for the likes of Devin Haney – after accepting a super short-notice fight.

Azim faces Mexico’s Eliot Chavez this Saturday in Barnsley after having just a week to prepare for the bout.

But the ultra-fit and professional super-lightweight always stays ready for any challenge – even against boxing’s best.

Azim, 22, told Sky Sports: “I would fight Haney next week. I just feel he’s more moving around and doesn’t want to initiate attacks.

“He is a top-level fighter but I don’t think he’s the same fighter that he was before.

“If he’s running on the backfoot, throwing one jab every two rounds, why not?”

Haney, 26, was dropped three times by Ryan Garcia, also 26, in April 2026 in what looked to be his first defeat.

But the result was overturned when Garcia returned a positive drug test for ostarine – known to boost muscle growth.

Haney had his undefeated record restored and returned with a dull points win over Jose Ramirez, 32, in New York in May.

Garcia – who accepted a one-year ban but blamed the positive test on a tainted supplement – also fought on the same night.

But he was stunned in defeat to Rolly Romero, 29, having been dropped before losing on points.

Azim is targeting the top names at the 140lb division Haney used to rule as WBC champion – and slammed the American’s safety-first style.

He said: “For me I can fight front foot and back foot.

“Haney, I think he’s got enough power just to keep someone off, but I don’t think he has that one-punch power.

“But I think if I was going to fight him I think I’d beat him with speed.”
