PHEOBE Bishop mysteriously vanished over three weeks ago in a gripping disappearance case which puzzled the world.
The shocking story has been plagued by grim twists and heartbreaking pleas after the 17-year-old teenager went missing near an airport on May 15.
Before she disappeared, Pheobe had been living in the town of Gin Gin, which is north of Brisbane in Australia.
The sleepy neighbourhood has a population of about 1,100 people.
The teenager had been living in a derelict pad – which had a foul smell and was very noisy according to neighbours.
She lived there with two housemates: James Wood, 34, and Tanika Bromley, 33.
On the day she went missing, Pheobe was meant to board a flight to see her boyfriend in Western Australia.
Her housemates drove her to Bundaberg airport, but police said CCTV there never even saw her enter the terminal and she never actually checked in.
She was on her way to Perth to visit her “high-school sweetheart” boyfriend.
Pheobe reportedly made a last minute call to him at 8:30am mere moments before she was set to get on the flight to Western Australia.
A family member said: “She didn’t check in for her flight to visit her boyfriend who she spoke to on the phone at 8.30am.”
According to the Daily Mail, Wood said the couple had an explosive argument in the car with Pheobe over whether she could do her makeup before arriving at the airport.
He said they pulled over just under a kilometre from their destination.
Wood and Bromley then allegedly walked off and were away from Pheobe and the car for five minutes, according to the 34-year-old.
A missing person’s report was issued for her one day later on May 16.
Her worried sick sister, Kaylea Bishop, sent Wood and Bromley a simple text, demanding to know the whereabouts of her sibling.
She said: “Where is my sister?”
On the following weekend, her desperate mum Kylie Johnson made emotional pleas for anyone with information to come forward.
By May 18, over 400 missing person posters with Pheobe’s photo had been plastered across the Wide Bay region.
The next week, on Monday May 19, police launched their search for Pheobe.
It covered land along Bundaberg’s Airport Drive and the surrounding areas.
But mysteriously, police didn’t find any sign of the teen or her belongings.
Police, along with Pheobe’s mum, described her disappearance as out of character on May 20.
They also asked the public for information about the 2011 grey Hyundai ix35 hatch, owned by Bromley, that had been seen around Airport Drive at the time of Pheoebe’s disappearance.
The next day, police updated the case and said they were treating Pheobe’s disappearance as a suspicious.
They also declared two crime scenes – one being the run-down home she was living at, and the other being the infamous Hyundai she was driven to the airport in.
After inspecting the foul-smelling home, police found four dead dogs rotting inside.
But it was later understood that these four pups died of natural causes.
Airport Drive, Samuels Road and Gin Gin were also named as locations of interest.
On May 22, Detective Acting Inspector Ryan Thompson stressed the importance of public information.
In a chilling plea, he said: “People don’t vanish.”
The day after that, police revealed they were searching through bushland and waterways at Good Night Scrub National Park, near to where Pheobe was last seen.
This scan went on for the next two days, during which police dogs joined the hunt.
On May 25 Bromley was arrested in a major twist after police allegedly found weapons in her silver Hyundai.
On May 26, the search area was expanded – before cops made a harrowing revelation.
They believed evidence had been moved from the Good Night Scrub area before they arrived there.
And on this same day, a new number plate was discovered to have been suspiciously painted and taped over the notorious Hyundai’s original plate.
The gruelling search effort in Good Night Scrub National Park then continued from May 27 for five more days.
Disturbingly, the search appeared to lose hope as police said they would no longer be doing any more physical scans for Pheobe on Wednesday, June 4.
They said they would restart any searches only when they had relevant information.
But in a dramatic twist on the very same day – Pheobe’s housemate Wood was arrested.
However, no charges were made and he was released a day later on June 5.
And in yet another turn in the tale – Wood and Bromley were then both arrested and charged with murder on the same day Wood was released – exactly three weeks after Pheobe went missing.
They were each charged with one count of murder and two counts of interfering with a corpse.
Shocking footage released on Friday showed the moment police arrested Wood and escorted him out of an RV for the “homicide of Pheobe Bishop”.
Both Wood and Bromley appeared at Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Friday morning.
Outside the building, Pheobe’s heartbroken sister Kaylea Bishop said her sibling was “loved and missed” dearly.
Kaylea and Pheobe had a close relationship and were planning to move in together last year.
And in the latest heartbreaking update, human remains were found during a search for Pheobe.
They are yet to be identified, but police have spoken to Pheobe’s family regarding the harrowing discovery.
The body was found close to Good Night Scrub National Park, near Gin Gin, on Friday, June 6 at around 2:30pm.
Pheobe’s mum then made a heartbreaking statement.
She said: “I didn’t think my heart could break anymore than it did when you went missing, or when the charges were laid but this.
“This is ripping me apart.”
Pheobe had previously said online that she wasn’t living with her mum, and that she had been “in and out” of home for years.
Cops are now set to allege that Wood, Bromley and Pheobe were all in the car when it arrived at Airport Drive near Bundaberg Airport in the morning of May 15.
They believe that the trio never actually left the car.
Detective Inspector Craig Mansfield said: “Our evidence will outline the fact that three people arrived near to the airport, and three people never exited that vehicle.”
Wood and Bromley will appear in court on August 11.
LONDON MAYOR Sadiq Khan continues to push WWE to bring WrestleMania to the British capital.
British WWE fans have been wanting professional wrestling’s biggest show to come to the UK for decades.
And Khan, 54, is working rigorously to bring Mania outside of North America for the first time in the show’s 40-plus-year history.
The UK has some of the most hardcore WWE fans around the world and London has hosted a series of major premium live events, including Money in the Bank in 2023 and SummerSlam in 1992.
The mayor wants to make the pro wrestling enthusiasts’ dream a reality and has held talks with WWE chief content officer Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque, who previously suggested he is open to the prospect.
And he made one more major call to Triple H urging him to bring the Show of Shows across the pond to the “sporting capital”.
London has hosted a number of major sporting events throughout the years, including the Champions League final, Wimbledon, NFL matches and of course the 2012 Olympics.
Khan told CNBC: “I’d love for WrestleMania to come to London.
“Triple H if you’re watching, we want WrestleMania to come to London.
“If WrestleMania came to London, my message to the team there is that we wouldn’t just have a great weekend, we’d have a festival, of you know, legends in WrestleMania coming to London, current stars, but also future stars as a well.
“It will open a completely new market for them as well.
“I think the potential has not been reached in terms of WrestleMania.
“We are the sporting capital, in my view, of the world. And if WrestleMania wants to expand, the obvious place to come is London.”
AXED Love Island hunk Kyle Ashman took part in “misogynistic” videos with a pal where they secretly filmed women.
The lad was struck from the dating show line-up earlier this week after it was revealed that he had been held and questioned by police over a machete attack at a wake.
Now it has been revealed that he had a joint TikTok and YouTube page with a friend called Fin Musker.
Whilst the joint pages have been wiped of content, a source has told The Sun that the videos involved them “picking up girls and filming them without knowledge”.
The source added that the videos “displayed misogynistic behaviour towards women”.
Some content still online shows Fin and Kyle out on the town, kissing women and speaking to them in bars.
When approached about the videos, Kyle did not wish to comment.
It raises further question marks about ITV’s vetting process for its reality shows.
Earlier this week Kyle was sent packing from Majorca after The Sun alerted show bosses that he had been arrested on suspicion of a machete attack and was only cleared by police last month – meaning he would’ve been in discussion with authorities whilst auditioning for Love Island.
ITV chiefs sent him home from Majorca, plunging the show into chaos ahead of Monday’s launch.
A source said: “All of the online content had been cleared so may not have come up on surface level checks, but for this kind of show far deeper trawls should be in place.
“ITV has steered clear of OnlyFans stars in the past and Kyle’s link to one – particularly taking part in joint content of a misogynistic nature – is surely not in keeping with Love Island being a family show.”
ITV declined to comment.
Ashman, 23, was one of two quizzed over a brutal machete attack at a wake in Stafford in February but was released with no further action.
Sources said the channel was unaware of the incident and he was not flagged as part of contestant checks.
The victim, 38, nearly lost his arm. He was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment and kept in for around two weeks.
Another mourner was glassed, one struck with a metal pole, and two people run over by a car during the 15 minutes of terror at a social club.
Ashman, who lives in the town, was one of two men to be nicked on suspicion of affray then bailed.
Police confirmed that after the matter had been investigated the pair were released with no further action only last month.
Speaking after he was axed from the show, he said: “I’m not a bad guy, honestly. I’m a normal guy from a normal place. An opportunity arose to find love and I grabbed it with both hands, and it’s been taken away from me.
“I’ve seen the support pages and, who knows, maybe I’ll get the chance to go on Casa Amor or as a bombshell, go back in and show you who I really am. Show you I’m not a bad guy. We’ll see.”

LOVE Island has been hit by a string of controversies since it first aired in 2015.
Malia Arkian lasted just three hours before she was marched out by security in its second year after pushing co-contestant Kady McDermott for spilling wine on her.
Sherif Lanre was booted off after nine days in 2019.
He had made a vile joke after accidentally kicking fan fave Molly-Mae Hague in the crotch during a play fight.
In the same year Women’s Aid complained of contestant Joe Garratt’s “abusive” behaviour towards on-screen partner Lucie Donlan.
She broke down in tears after he told her to stay away from the other lads.
Ollie Williams left after three days in 2020 when he realised he still had feelings for his ex.
But his exit came amid mounting pressure on bosses to remove him after pictures of him allegedly trophy hunting came to light.
Salesman Haris Namani was dumped in 2023 after The Sun revealed footage of him in a street brawl.
The show has also been accused of failing to look after islanders’ mental health when filming stops.
Sophie Gradon took her own life, aged 32, two years after she appeared on Love Island 2016.
And Mike Thalassitis’s suicide in 2019, at 26, prompted calls for better after-care by reality shows.
In 2022, watchdog Ofcom received 3,600 complaints in a week over alleged misogynistic behaviour by some of the male contestants.
And this year it received thousands of complaints about All Stars contestant Elma Pazar’s bullying of Ekin- Su Culculoglu during a row.
RTE star Arthur Gourounlian was brought “to tears” as his husband signed off on his 98FM radio show for a final time.
Popular presenter Brian Dowling called it quits on the hit morning show today after two years at the helm.
Brian had been co-hosting the weekday show from 10am to 1pm with Suzanne Kane since March 2023.
It was an emotional final show for the dad-of-two, who told listeners: “I have had the best time here for nearly two and a half years.
“It’s been an absolute blast. It’s been an honour to sit in this chair for the length of time I have.”
Fighting back tears, he added: “I’m sure a lot of people thought, ‘Oh, Brian Dowling got a job – He’ll be in it six weeks and he’ll be gone’. I have given this show absolutely everything.
“I became a dad on this show. I’ve had television success on this show. I’ve had it all on this show.”
Arthur, who had tuned in from home, shared an emotional tribute after hearing Brian’s final sign-off, revealing it brought him “to tears”.
He wrote: “I listened to my husband saying goodbye to something he had given everything to for the last two and a half years – a show he didn’t just work on – he lived it.”
Praising his husband’s passion, Arthur added: “Every morning, every laugh, every moment he poured his heart and soul into… and he loved every second of it.”
During the final statement, Brian himself also admitted: “I can’t lie. It’s been tough recently, but I’ve tried to stay strong.”
Arthur said it wasn’t just because “it’s over” that made him emotional, as he added: “But because I’m so proud of the man behind the mic.”
He gushed: “Baby, you are one of the most genuine, passionate and talented people I know. Watching you chase your dream with such fire and joy has been nothing short of inspiring.”
The celebrity judge also acknowledged how much the show meant to him and their two little ones.
He added: “Blake, Blu and I have loved starting our mornings with your voice – and we’re just as excited for what comes next.”
And signing off with some hopeful words, Arthur wrote: “So here’s to new beginnings, new chapters and new adventures. Keep your head high, WE LOVE YOU. The best is still to come.
“Thank you for making us smile and laugh 5 days a week on 98FM. We’ve always got your back – and we always will.”
At the end of the final show today, Leanne praised Brian saying: “It’s been a pleasure. We love you. You brought so much energy, such enthusiasm to what you do.
“I think you’ve proven so many people wrong as well. I think that that is the biggest, biggest thing. And you’re just, you’re a great person.
“We love spending time with you. All our listeners this morning have been sending in so many texts, so many WhatsApps saying the very same thing about how much you have kept them company over the last two years and how much you will be missed.”
Brian replied: “Listen, I’m lucky enough to meet our listeners on a daily basis. They are the salt of the earth, lovely people. I’ve had a laugh every single day.
“I’ve never taken the job for granted. I’ve appreciated every day. I’ve been sat in front of this mic and I’m being myself and I don’t regret any of it.
“I don’t believe you should have regrets in life.”
It seldom happens that Sydney Sweeney doesn’t win in any contest. The trend didn’t break recently either. The Echo Valley star recently appeared on Jimmy Fallon’s show, where one of her body parts stole the show, quite unexpectedly. However, it’s better to clear the misunderstanding in the beginning, as it is quite an innocuous body […]
