WHO Wants To Be A Millionaire fans have been left baffled after a famous face used one of their lifelines on an ‘easy question’.
The hit ITV quiz show, presented by Jeremy Clarkson, continued on Sunday night with its new series.
Competing for charity was Channel 4 newsreader Krishnan Guru-Murthy.
Krishnan, 54, had specifically requested a question on 90s indie bands but then struggled to correctly answer it.
Jeremy, 64, asked him: “Which of these bestselling albums features greyhound racing in its cover artwork?”
A) Divide by Ed Sheeran
B) Parklife by Blur
C) Parachutes by Coldplay
D) 21 by Adele
While the correct answer was Parklife by Blur, Krishnan asked for the audience’s help.
After choosing to use his lifeline, the studio came back with an almost unanimous answer.
Reacting, the newsreader told Jeremy: “Parklife, I should have known that.”
Who Wants To Be A Millionaire fans then took to social media in their droves following the scenes as they branded it an “easy question”.
One wrote: “Says he wants a 90s indie band question then doesn’t know the answer to this one.”
A second wrote: #AskTheAudience in play and a pretty definitive answer…”
“‘I want 90’s Indie Music’. Not a f***ing clue it’s Parklife by Blur. One of the most iconic album covers ever,” fumed a third.
While a fourth blasted: “So clearly he knows f*** all about 90s indie music.”
Despite the rocky game, Krishnan still walked away with an impressive £64,000 for Duchenne UK – a charity that raises funds to end Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
Who Wants To Be A Millionaire is available to stream now on ITVX.
Who Wants to Be a Millionaire has offered hundreds of hopeful contestants the chance to become millionaires, but there has only been a handful of lucky winners.
There have only been five real winners so far on the show as Charles Ingram, who was the third winner of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? in 2001, had his claim to the prize thrown out because of cheating allegations.
The official winners are…
Judith Keppel
David Edwards
Robert Brydges
Pat Gibson
Ingram Wilcox
