THE heartbroken father of a young man killed by a falling tree in a horrifying Storm Eowyn accident had been waiting for his son to return home after speaking to him on the phone.
Kacper Dudek’s devastated dad told a local priest after his son’s tragic death: “He never came home.”
The 20-year-old was travelling home from his workplace at Zeus in Letterkenny at the time of the tragic incident.
Hundreds of mourners are expected to attend his funeral mass at St Patrick’s Church in Murlog, Lifford on Thursday morning.
Although a native of Poland, he was raised in the border town of Lifford.
Kacper, the beloved son of Artur and Katarzyna Dudek, was born in Brody before moving to Ireland with his family at a young age.
He was the eldest of three, and is mourned by his parents, his siblings, Karol and Weronika, and his girlfriend Molly.
He died shortly after meeting a roadblock caused by a fallen tree.
Kacper had turned his car around, only to be struck by another tree at Feddyglass, near Raphoe.
Father Michael McCaughey, who attended the tragic scene, spoke with Kacper’s heartbroken family yesterday.
Speaking to the Derry Journal, the priest said: “This young man was speaking to his father and within minutes he was dead.
“He apparently had come across a fallen tree. He had phoned his father, and father advised him to take a different route home. Then literally within minutes of the accident a tree fell on him.
“One of the tragic things was his father waited for him to come home, and his father said to me: ‘He never came home’.
“I found those words heartrending.”
TRAGEDY PROBE
A full Garda investigation into the tragedy is still ongoing.
Hundreds of tributes have been paid to the tragic young man with many calling him a gentle soul.
Kacper remains will repose at his home in Lifford from 4pm on Tuesday.
His funeral mass will take place at 10:30am in St Patrick`s Church, Murlog, Lifford before a cremation afterwards in Lakelands Crematorium.

OLIVIA Attwood has opened up on her latest series of Getting Filthy Rich, and revealed what her husband Bradley Dack really thinks of the show.
The 33-year-old is going to delve even deeper into the adult industry for her balsy third series, and immerses herself in the world of financial domination, adult cosplay, the boyfriend experience and meets the OnlyFans top one percent earning up to $150,000 a month.

Olivia and Bradley have been married since 2023[/caption]
Love Island star-turned-presenter Olivia has been left gobsmacked by some of the things she’s seen during filming in the past – including a gigantic penis replica.
And Olivia, who says she’s “pretty boring” in her own sex life, tells The Sun that husband Bradley thinks she’s “insane” for doing the show.
She said: “He thinks I’m crazy. I’ll ring him when I’m filming and be like ‘oh my God, you’ll never guess what I said today.’
“He genuinely thinks I’m on the wind up, and as soon as I get clips and edits from the rushes I’m like ‘I told you I saw this.’
“And he’s like ‘what?’ because he actually doesn’t normally believe me until he actually sees it, and when I say it out loud, some of the things sound insane.”
Olivia continued: “He’ll say to me ‘how are you just sitting there? I couldn’t watch that in person.’
“And that’s why I tell him that it’s my show and not his.”
In series three, Olivia is embarking on even more surprising services – from Giantesses to ‘MILFS’ and ‘GILFS’ making erotic content.
And even she finds it shocking, despite having fronted two series already.
Olivia said: “I was arrogant thinking nothing can shock me anymore because I’ve seen so much, but I was completely wrong.
“I think that this is probably the most X rated series so far and I think it’s the most shocking.
“I think it’s going to create the most conversation out of all the series, and I was literally quite speechless some days.”
Olivia’s approach to film-making saw the first of the ITV2 series bag a prestigious Broadcast Award after she joined Only Fans and even had a clothed, walk-on role in a porn film.
The blonde beauty previously told us: “Brad would never say to me don’t do something, because that’s just not how this household runs, as I’m sure you lot can imagine.
“But he was like, as your fiance I hate that.
“I hate the fact that there’ll be men in there looking at you in your underwear.
“And I was like, but do you understand that I feel like I have to do this to get experience of this?
“It would be so easy for me to stand on the side and be like, oh yeah, this is what it’s like.”
Understanding Brad came round to her way of thinking.
She went on: “A couple of days before when I got really nervous, I was like I don’t know if I could actually do this.
“He actually then turned, and was like ‘you can do this.
“It’s gonna be great, it’s going to give you such insight, you’re gonna feel like you learnt so much from doing it.
“Remember the reason why you’re doing it’.
“He said ‘It’s not really about you, if you can’t dance and people don’t think you’re sexy it doesn’t matter because it’s not your day job, you’re doing it to find out what it feels like’.
“So yes, he was very supportive.
“I would hope that he would tell me if he was gonna go somewhere and dance around his underwear. So I get it.”

1 week agoLatest NewsComments Off on BBC confirms return of hit comedy for fourth series – as EastEnders icon joins cast
FILMING has begun on the new series of a cult comedy favourite and fans will see a familiar face amongst the cast.
Mandy, directed and starring Diane Morgan, first hit our screens in 2020 after a successful pilot episode.
The BBC have confirmed filming for series four of Mandy has now begun[/caption]
This series fans will be treated to an appearance by Eastenders star Cheryl Fergison[/caption]
The surreal comedy is known for its many celebrity cameos[/caption]
It follows the misadventures of, as the title suggests, Mandy and her life on the dole with her mate and Salon owner Lola, played by Michelle Greenidge.
Mandy finds herself constantly looking for work, either due to her own chronic lethargy or a series of disasters that seem to thwart her at every turn.
In previous series we’ve seen her foil a mid-air bomb plot whilst working as an air steward and being attacked in church, by flocks of birds like an Alfred Hitchcock film.
Even when she lands her dream job as a taster at a biscuit factory, disaster looms and she manages to slip on her own vomit, fall down several flights of stairs and then out of an open window.
The series is bizarre at times and known for its many celebrity cameos squeezed in to the short episodes. Graham Norton, Micheala Strachan and Deborah Meaden have all appeared as themselves.
But fans of the show will see another familiar face in series four as Cheryl Fergison, who played the iconic Heather in EastEnders will be joining the cast.
When asked about the recommission the show’s iconic creator Diane was in typical form saying: “I couldn’t be more thrilled to be asked to provide a quote for a press release that tells people how thrilled I am that the BBC is bringing back Mandy.
“However I am too busy writing, directing and starring in the show to come up with anything, so I’ve asked someone else to write it. They are thrilled.”
The Director of Comedy at the BBC, Jon Petrie, had a little more to add saying: “Series 3 saw Mandy save a plane from a terrorist attack, commit mass murder with a blowpipe, and get fired from a biscuit factory.
“Mandy gets bigger, bolder, and more brilliantly absurd with every series—and we’re here for every hilarious moment of Diane Morgan’s brilliant creation.”
Previously Diane has spoken about her broad appeal and what makes Mandy resonate with viewers. She said: “Sometimes people come up to me in the street to say hello and I think I can always guess what they like me from.
“If it’s a man in his 40s it’ll be Charlie Brooker stuff – Philomena Cunk. If it’s a woman with a pram it’ll be Motherland, and if it’s a gay man or a hen party from Manchester it’ll be Mandy.
“Mandy seems to have the broadest appeal of all the shows I’ve done. Mums and daughters watch it together. Lots of people say it helps them get over a bad day by watching someone have an even worse one.”
Who knows what Mandy will get up to next?[/caption]
All three previous series of Mandy are available to watch on the BBC Iplayer.

OLIVIA ATTWOOD has never been afraid to push the boundaries for her award-winning series Getting Filthy Rich.
But the presenter has admitted that outrageous OnlyFans girl Bonnie Blue could be where she draws the line.
Olivia Attwood won’t be having Bonnie Blue on her series Getting Filthy Rich[/caption]
Olivia is back with a third series of the ITV2 documentary which delves into the sex industry.
And since the show’s first outing, in 2022, saucy platform OnlyFans has exploded — with Bonnie front and centre.
Olivia said: “Bonnie is not on the show because the series was filmed before any of this came to light.
“But I think the special thing about Getting Filthy Rich is that we represent the sex industry in a balanced way, without bias.
“And I think you have to be careful — it feels potentially like it’s something I would be nervous about giving a platform to.
“I think what she’s advertising is quite dangerous.
“And it’s actually potentially quite harmful for the sex worker community.
“It could be undoing a lot of hard work that’s been done to break down the stigma about sex workers.
“I’d have to look into it a lot deeper to know whether I’d want it to feature on our shows or not.”
Olivia would be keen to dig into the flipside of the story, though — the men who take part in Bonnie’s stunts.
She added: “There’s not much focus on the men signing up for this.
“Who are they?
“Why are they doing this?
“Do their families know
“There’s so many questions.”
As part of series three, Olivia will meet other super-successful OnlyFans stars who, like Bonnie and fellow headline-grabber Lily Phillips, are cashing in on the platform, with some earning up to £120k a month.
Elsewhere she explores the niche services on offer from giantesses to saucy 70-year-old grans, plus women getting down and dirty with food.
Olivia gets hands-on with the subject matter too by trying out costume play — even roping in footballer hubby Bradley Dack.
In one scene, she dresses as a witch while he is wizard Harry Potter.
Olivia added: “I naively always go in thinking I’ve seen so much, like am I even really shocked any more?
‘LEARNING CURVE’
“And every day it’s a shock and it’s a learning curve.
“I’m like a sponge soaking up the knowledge.
“I love making the show, it’s my obsession.
“In my dreams, Louis Theroux watches and he goes, ‘Oh my God, this Liv, she’s great’ — that’s probably my fantasy!”
Olivia Attwood: Getting Filthy Rich returns on Sunday at 10:05pm on ITV2 and ITVX.

Who is Bonnie Blue?
Born in May 1999, Bonnie – whose real name is Tia Billinger – grew up in a small Derbyshire village, and attended the Friesland School in the village of Sandiacre.
She has two half-siblings – a sister and a brother – who have always remained out of the public eye.
She never knew her biological father, and considers stepfather Nicholas Elliott her dad.
Bonnie also became something of a dance star in her local area, and competed in the British Street Dance Championships alongside her sister back in 2015.
She also had a part-time job at Poundstretcher as a teenager.
After school, she began working in recruitment.
In October 2022, Bonnie married Oliver Davidson, who she had started dating when she was just 15.
Once they were married, they moved to Australia, where Bonnie continued working in recruitment.
However, it was in Australia that she decided to pursue a different line of work, and tried her luck as a ‘cam girl’ – crediting Oliver for giving her the confidence to enter the adult entertainment world.
She quickly made a name for herself in the industry, and was soon making £5,000 a week.
But while her work life was going from strength to strength, her relationship was crumbling, and she and Oliver split after almost a decade together.
She moved over to OnlyFans following her cam girl success, and once again found fame on there.
She quickly became a favourite on the site, especially thanks to her “niche” of sleeping with young male students – such as when she bedded 158 students during Nottingham Trent University’s freshers week in September 2024.
Bonnie is now estimated to be worth £3 million, and makes around £600,000 a month on OnlyFans.
Her family are also supportive of her work, with mum Sarah Billinger even claiming she’s her daughter’s PA, and helps clean up after Bonnie’s events – as well as handing out condoms to young clients.
In January 2025, Bonnie claimed to have broken the world record for the most amount of sex in 12 hours, after apparently sleeping with 1,057 men from 1pm to 1am at a secret London event.

HE’S explored space and Ancient Egypt for Channel 5 – and now comic Dara O Briain is getting fired up about volcanoes.
A two-part documentary will see the Mock The Week host head to Italy to get up close and personal with the ‘Lighthouse of the Med’ Mount Stromboli, and Mounts Etna and Vesuvius.

But it’s not all about hard work as Volcano with Dara O Briain which is currently in the works, will also see him enjoying the highlights of the surrounding cities, and the delicious food they offer.
Dara said: “I got to clamber up the side of live volcanoes, and watch plumes of lava explode into the air.
“Then we drank wine from volcanic soil, ate the best pizza in the world and learned how to love life, under the shadow of destruction.
“Who said geology was just rocks!”
RUSSELL T DAVIES will be joined by a host of new writers for the next series of Doctor Who.
After returning as showrunner on the sci-fi show in 2023, he will be joined by four fresh faces for Ncuti Gatwa’s second run as the Time Lord.
The new series air on BBC One and iPlayer later this year.
LACEY’S JUST GOT STARTED
LACEY TURNER’s first We Started Here podcast has dropped with the actress talking to her EastEnders co-star Jessie Wallace.
But I can reveal the actress – who played Stacey Slater in the BBC One soap – has lined up a host of other soap talents for a chat, with a different helping being available every Tuesday on all podcast platforms.
Other people set to appear include Cracker and Time writer Jimmy McGovern, who once penned episodes of Channel 4’s Brookside; former Hollyoaks hunk Ricky Whittle; Sarah Phelps, who was an EastEnders writer, and actress Mandip Gill who was in Doctors and Casualty.
I’m sure that’s almost everyone in soapland covered . . .
CHERYL’S FINE AND MANDY
EASTENDERS legend Cheyl Ferguson is joining the cast of BBC comedy Mandy.
She will play a new character in the upcoming fourth series, which stars Diane Morgan as the jobless and disastrous protagonist Mandy Carter.

She will appear alongside Breeders star Joanna Bacon, Peter Key’s Car Share actress Sian Gibson, The Power Of Parker’s Rosie Cavaliero and Things You Should Have Done’s Jamie Bisping in the new cast.
The show will also see the return of Michelle Greenidge as Mandy’s best friend and salon owner Lola, and Tom Basden as the pesky benefits officer.
A teaser reveals: “Mandy continues to live hand-to-wonky-mouth, cooking up enough dodgy side hustles and trashy cash hacks to hopefully climb up into the squeezed middle.”
The six new episodes are currently filming and will air on BBC Two.
Bizbit
JOANNA LUMLEY has joined the cast of Amandaland, which starts next week on BBC One and iPlayer.
It’s a spin-off from hit comedy Motherland, but the Absolutely Fabulous star admits she was not a devotee.
Joanna said: “I hardly saw it,” before quickly adding: “But what I did see, I adored.”
