Traitors’ Alexander Dragonetti inspires fans to donate £30,000 to chosen charity Mencap
TRAITORS loser Alexander Dragonetti has ended up a winner — after his faithful fans donated £30,000 to his chosen charity.
The former British diplomat, 38, had shared his intention to help Mencap if he took the prize pot on the BBC series.
Fans of Alexander Dragonetti have donated £30,000 to his chosen charity Mencap[/caption]He won the hearts of viewers when he told of missing his brother, who had global developmental delay and autism and died aged 17 about 14 years ago.
Alexander said Mencap had taken his sibling on trips, adding: “It was just a brilliant thing for my brother and a brilliant thing for my family.”
But he agonisingly missed out on the show’s £94,600 prize after being banished by eventual winners Leanne Quigley and Jake Brown — despite being a Faithful.
But in the days since, Mencap has had more than 2,000 donations in his name.
The charity’s boss Jon Sparkes said: “Telling his story has inspired a tremendous wave of generosity from the public.
“These donations are needed now more than ever.
“We loved watching Alexander’s journey throughout the show and want to thank him for all that he’s done.”

Real Madrid ‘angry’ at Trent Alexander-Arnold transfer talks and turn to eight-time Bundesliga winner as Plan B
REAL MADRID have reportedly targeted Joshua Kimmich after becoming “angry” at Trent Alexander-Arnold transfer talks.
The Liverpool star had been widely tipped to seal a move to the LaLiga giants.
Trent Alexander-Arnold was wanted by Real Madrid[/caption] The Spanish side are now reportedly looking at signing Joshua Kimmich[/caption]Alexander-Arnold, 26, is out of contract at Anfield at the end of the season.
He is free to speak to foreign clubs this month with the view of signing a pre-contract agreement.
Los Blancos were thought to be close to sealing a deal to bring the right-back to the club in the summer.
However, Sky Sports have reported that due to a “slowdown” in talks with Alexander-Arnold’s entourage, Real have moved on.
The report claims that Real have called the representatives of Kimmich.
It is suggested that the move has been made as a ploy to speed up the process of reaching an agreement with Alexander-Arnold.
But it would also “keep a door open” for Kimmich, 29, to arrive at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The German is more than comfortable at right-back but can also play effectively in midfield.

He joined Bayern Munich back in 2015 and has won the Champions League and eight Bundesliga titles.
Like Alexander-Arnold, Kimmich is a free agent in the summer with his contract expiring at the Allianz Arena.
The report added that the German international would prefer a move to Spain instead of extending his time in Bavaria.
Ha has insisted that an update over his future will come soon enough.
He said: “To be honest, I can’t get up here every three days and give an update.
“There will be an update at some point, but I’m not going to comment on it every three days.”
Real would also face competition from Manchester City in the race for Kimmich’s signature.
Pep Guardiola has been a long-term fan of him since he coached him in Germany.
