‘I would never usually wear this’ admits Ireland AM star Muireann O’Connell as she rocks unique €70 blouse
IRELAND AM star Muireann O’Connell has admitted her latest TV look is not her “usual” style – but fans are all obsessed with the fashion risk.
The Virgin Media star was back on screens this morning for another jam-packed episode of the hit breakfast show.
![Three television presenters posing together.](https://www.thesun.ie/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2025/01/muireann-mam-2.png?strip=all&w=710)

Muireann, who is renowned for her trend-setting style, decided to try out a new aesthetic on air today.
The 41-year-old took to Instagram to share some snippets of herself getting all dolled up backstage before the show.
The Limerick beauty donned a beautiful €70 sheer cream blouse from Styled By Sarah Rackard and styled it with a figure-flattering pair of blue denim boot-cut jeans.
However, the Irish host revealed that she wasn’t too keen on the ruffled blouse at first and wrote in her caption: “I would never usually try something like this.”
The TV star confessed that the elegant top was inspired by British actress Sienne Miller, who is well-known for rocking the boho-chic look.
But, Muireann joked: “Sienna Miller’s style is to be admired never attempted but @styled_by_sarah_rickard left it in wardrobe so, gave it a go and loved it!”
Muireann really is a pro at making a trend wearable and this new elegant silhouette is sure to have fans racing to try it out.
True to form, the popular presenter shopped the high-street for her look adding a pair of snake skin boots from River Island.
And the Grey Faux Leather Snake Heeled Boots are currently on sale for just €18 – talk about a steal!
Of course, fans and friends all ran to the comment section to share their love for the star’s incredible fashion.
Siobhan wrote: “That’s stunning. Cream is beautiful on you.”
Kellie said: “Fabulous Muireann, I love the blouse.”
Maureen remarked: “I love every bit of this! I’m mad for the blouse.”
While Demela added: “You always look so fab.”
And Muireann was left laughing after her mum messaged while she was on air this morning to comment on her make-up.
The breakfast show host wrote in her caption: “My mother of course has a problem. Ever since I’ve started wearing a make up shade that matches my skin tone and not a Spanish senorita, she’s been a trolling me.”
Muireann then posted a screenshot of her WhatsApp conversation with her mum, Marie.
Marie wrote: “During the break put some lipstick on, you’re so pale.”
The host responded: “I’M SO PALE.”

On Wednesday afternoon, the Irish language broadcaster confirmed that it will be live streaming the game.
It will be in addition to the Division 1 football league encounter between Donegal vs Dublin, which TG4 will be covering on TV.
A statement said: “TG4 is delighted to confirm live coverage of the highly anticipated Round 2 Allianz Hurling League clash between Cork and Limerick from SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh, Cork.
“The action will be available to viewers across multiple platforms, with TG4’s live coverage beginning on the TG4 Player and TG4 App from 7:25pm on Saturday night, ahead of throw-in at 7:30pm.
“This exciting encounter will showcase two of hurling’s powerhouse counties as they battle it out under the lights in one of the standout fixtures of the Allianz Hurling League.
“For fans unable to tune in live, updates and stand-out scores will be available on @SportTG4 platforms across social media.
“The match will also be available in full on demand on the TG4 Player and App following the broadcast.
“Don’t miss this thrilling showdown – only on TG4.”
TG4 had requested permission from Croke Park to stream the game in the wake of controversy surrounding RTE’s decision not to televise it.
In the wake of fan backlash against the broadcaster not carrying it, a statement was released claiming that it had wanted to but the counties involved “could not accommodate.”
A post on Twitter read: “RTE sought Cork-Limerick in the Allianz Hurling League as our match selection a number of months ago but the counties could not accommodate.
“RTE subsequently chose Armagh-Tyrone.”
Cork GAA responded to that assertion on Tuesday afternoon.
The county board claimed that they had been asked to hold the game at an earlier time.
However, with it therefore coming into conflict with Ireland vs England in the Six Nations, they decided to retain the original throw-in time.
Their own statement read: “Cork GAA was informed some weeks ago that Cork v Limerick was not to be the chosen game by broadcasters at the appointed time on Saturday, February 1st at 7.30pm.
“We were not in a position to meet a subsequent request to change the game to an earlier time to facilitate the broadcast, as the alternative time clashed directly with the Ireland v England Rugby game and we sought not to deprive our own supporters of seeing both games.
“We remain deeply disappointed that our fixture will not be televised at the appointed time, but look forward to another spectacle with a packed house here at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Saturday next.”

Petrolheads will recognise the 1937 Bugatti Type 57c by Vanvooren
It was originally owned by Ettore Bugatti and was used by his eldest son Jean just moments before his fatal grash.
The historic car is currently listed with Vintage and Prestige Fine Motorcars.
With a glamourous glossy maroon finish and captivating chrome details, the vehicle’s curves are fully accentuated from the colouring.
Interior shots on the website reveal a sleek wooden steering wheel and dashboard with chrome dials and gauges and tan leather seats and door panels.
It was used as a factory demonstrator around the Bugatti automotive industry factory in Molsheim, in northern-eastern France.
The listing states: “This car has a fascinating and clear history.
“It is a 57C supercharged with the Ventoux bodywork.
This particular model, number 57529, was registered to the founder of Bugatti, Ettore Bugatti, on 28th July 1937.
According to the listing, every new development on type 57 was tested on this model, which kept features not available on any other 57 in this series.
It was described as a “rolling laboratory.”
Ettore’s eldest son, Jean Bugatti, used the vehicle as a test car and used to take it around France at high speed.
Molsheim factory guests witnessed Jean Bugatti driving at terrifyingly high speeds on the Alsace roads in France.
Jean Bugatti systematically tested possible technological advances on his 57C, while continuing to use it.
Tragically, the evening of Friday, 11th August 1939, was the day of Jean Bugatti’s fatal test drive with the 57G Tank.
The daring designer asked Robert Aumaitre, the racing course director, and Mr Joos, a mechanic, to take the 57G Tank to the test site.
Meanwhile, Jean drove the car, nicknamed “La Grise,” with his younger brother Roland Bugatti sitting beside him and two other passengers.
After Jean dropped off Roland at Duttlenheim and the other passengers a little further down the road, he parked the 57C at the test site, on the side between two trees,
“Now alone, Jean parked the 57C at the test site, on the side between two trees, and took the wheel of the 57G TANK,” the listing continued.
“Jean did several laps back and forth with Robert at his side, then asked to do one last run alone.
“This is when the fatal crash occurred.”
Ettore Bugatti was said to be extremely affected by his son’s death and refused to let anyone touch the car – which stood unused at the factory.
He even refused to sell it to his son-in-law, le Comte de Boigne.
Shortly after this, WWII started and Alsace was invaded by the Germans, forcing the Bugatti factory to stop normal car production.
After the war, Ettore’s youngest son, Roland Bugatti, registered the car in his name and used it once he took over the management of the factory.
It’s thought to be a symbolic sign that he was in the very shoes of his brother.
The current body was bought in 1999 by a famous American car collector Mr Malcolm Pray, who then gave the car a complete revamp.
Despite the body being dilapidated it remained very stylish with the open two-seat body.
Now the it’s won numerous awards and first prizes at assorted USA concours d’elegance in the USA.
It’s currently with Marque Specialist Ivan Dutton having an Overdrive fitted to make the car relaxed at modern day speeds and at the same time the body is being mounted to the above chassis 57529.
Dutton is also doing a full service and set up on the car and checking over everything mechanically.
“The body on the car is about as stylish as they come and is redolent of the most flambuoyant styling from Parisienne coachbuilders of the 1930’s,” the website describes.
“There is no question of its period authenticity or of its French origin.”

Enzo Fernandez ‘trying to fix romance with childhood sweetheart after discovering team-mate was trying to seduce her’
CHELSEA star Enzo Fernandez is trying to repair his romance with Valentina Cervantes after discovering an Argentina team-mate was trying to seduce her, it was sensationally claimed today.
The pair sparked reunion rumours last week after reportedly being spotted kissing and holding hands in London.
![Enzo Fernandez with his girlfriend.](https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/enzo-fernandez-trying-fix-romance-967547287.jpg?strip=all&w=768)
![Woman in bathrobe having breakfast on a balcony overlooking the Colosseum.](https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/enzo-fernandez-trying-fix-romance-967547056.jpg?strip=all&w=896)
It emerged the pretty brunette was still in London and had yet to return to Argentina with their two children nearly a month after flying to the UK to “stay a few days.”
Eagle-eyed fans of Valentina, 24, welcomed the apparent reconciliation overnight after spotting two coffee cups in a photo the influencer posted on Instagram showing her having breakfast in a dressing gown on a hotel balcony opposite Rome’s Colosseum.
The footballer gave no clues about his whereabouts on his social media ahead of his club’s upcoming match next Monday against West Ham following their 3-1 defeat to Manchester City at the weekend.
But one of Valentina’s 2.4 million Instagram followers, hinting at the identity of her travel companion, said: “There are two coffees.. tell me Enzo is there as well.”
In an explosive claim about the midfielder’s apparent decision to backtrack on his decision, journalist Daniel Fava revealed yesterday it was linked to a move by another member of Argentina’s winning World Cup squad on Enzo’s long-time partner.
Fava said on TV show A la tarde: “In the last few hours there’s been a reconciliation with his ex-partner Valentina Cervantes. They’re giving things another go.”
He added: “The information I have is that Enzo Fernandez is desperately trying to win her back because he’s heard that a fellow world champion is sniffing around her.”
The Argentine journalist offered no further clues about the identity of the mystery player he was pointing the finger at, or whether he even knew his name.

After a colleague interrupted to say: “What you’re saying is that he prefers to get back with her than see another man jumping in,” he said of Valentina: “Today she’s prettier than ever.
“Since the separation she has gained a new sex appeal and energy” before making a second bombshell claim “more than one footballer” had contacted her over social media since the shock split.
Childhood sweetheart Valentina revealed late last month she would be jetting to London with their two children Olivia, four, and Benjamin, one, to see in the New Year with her ex after he told her he wanted to live alone and she returned to their homeland.
Enzo first fuelled rumours of a possible reconciliation by liking photos she posted last week showing off her curvaceous body in a pair of tight-fitting white leggings and crop top.
Argentine journalists began to claim the couple had decided to give love a second chance after they were ‘spotted’ being affectionate with each other during a visit to Selfridges.
Argentinian journalist Pepe Ochoa told TV programme LAM: “The reconciliation was in London. They are giving love a second chance.”
Speaking of their affectionate public display during a recent shopping trip, he said: “They were in Selfridges and went to buy things in Prada.
“A friend of mine saw them. They were holding hands and there was a kiss.
“He was with his dad and his youngest child. When people started to recognise them, she went one way and he stayed inside.”
Former law student Valentina announced the end of their relationship in late October by writing on Instagram: “With Enzo, today we decided to put space between us.
“But we will always be family and we will support each other in everything because there are two children in the middle who need a lot of our love for them.
“I know the person and the excellent father that Enzo is, and the heart he has and with that, I’m satisfied.
“Don’t try to create wars where there are none.”
In an interview with Argentine newspaper La Nacion last month where she revealed the New Year family reunion, Valentina admitted she and Enzo lived and slept together for another 10 days after he left her shell-shocked by telling her “from one day to the next” he didn’t want to be with her anymore.
Speaking of his decision to call time on their relationship, she added: “I think it was a combination of things on his part. He made the decision and I respected it. We have two children together.
“To this day, we try to have a good relationship, we try to share, so that the kids can continue living together.
“If you ask me what happened, I have nothing specific to tell you.
“I just think that he decided to focus 100 per cent on his career, on performing, on finding himself.
“He might not have been at his best as a player and tried to find it. Today, fortunately, things are going well for him. That’s why I’m also happy.”
Neither Enzo or Valentina have yet commented publicly on the reports they have decided to get back together.
But her Rome hotel breakfast snaps have left her Instagram followers in no doubt about their veracity.
One wrote: “If it works for you Valentina we support you. Rely on us always.”
Another said: “You’re beautiful and I’m happy you’re back with Enzo.”
Fernandez, who cost Chelsea £106million, has struggled to live up to his hefty price tag following his arrival at the club in January 2023 from Benfica.
South American outlet Sports has reported Real Madrid are planning on “going all out” to sign him from Chelsea.
It said the Spanish giants are keen on the midfielder and are willing to swap their own player Aurelien Tchouameni with the Blues to get their man.

‘Sexual predator’ student, 27, ‘drugged & raped ten unconscious women then took videos to keep as chilling souvenirs’
A SEXUAL predator student drugged and raped ten unconscious women then took photos to keep as souvenirs, a court heard.
Zhenhao Zou is accused of “stupefying” the women using vast amounts of alcohol or drugs to render them incapacitated.
![Man looking up, wearing a dark denim jacket.](https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/used-given-picture-desk-legal-963724767.jpg?strip=all&w=960)
The 27-year-old would then carry out sex attacks, which he filmed to keep as “souvenirs”, jurors were told.
Inner London Crown Court heard Zou would watch the videos back for his “own private sexual gratification”.
The University College London is accused of carrying out the assaults between 2019 and 2023.
He denies eleven charges of rape on ten alleged victims, 12 of possession of an extreme pornographic images and three counts of voyeurism.
Zou is also charged with one of false imprisonment and eight counts of possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply.
The court heard he raped two of the women in London, while the other eight were at unknown locations in China.
Prosecutor Catherine Farrelly, KC, said: “To the outside world, Zhenhao Zou undoubtedly presents as a smart and charming young man.
“However, as you know from the indictment in this case which contains 35 allegations against him, the prosecution says that he is also a persistent sexual predator, a voyeur and a rapist.
“The prosecution case at this trial is that he would meet women, he would stupefy them, either with drink or drugs, and, once they were significantly under the influence of those drinks or drugs, he would then rape them.
“Often, he would record himself doing so. During this trial you will be shown several recordings which the prosecution says are the defendant’s souvenirs of the many rapes that he had committed – items that he kept for his own private sexual gratification, so that he could watch, at his leisure, his rapes of these women, who he had rendered often unconscious and totally vulnerable to his will.”
The court heard Zou is accused of raping ten women, although eight of these have not been identified by police.
The case is based on videos found on his mobile phone and two cameras also seized from his home.
One of the recordings showed Zou stood over a woman, who appeared “upset”.
Jurors heard he could be heard encouraging her to finish her drink as she begged to go home.
Ms Farrelly said: “She asks the defendant not to restrain her and tells him that he is controlling her.
“At one point in the recording, she can be heard screaming repeatedly and she appears to try and get up from the bed on several occasions, and the defendant pushes her back down each time.”
Zou claims some of the women were “role playing” and all consented to any footage taken of them.
He first came to UK in 2017 to study engineering at Queen’s University in Belfast.
In 2019, Zou began a master’s degree at University College London before beginning a PhD there in 2021.
He denies all 35 charges against him and the trial continues.
