Twist in ‘Taken-style kidnap’ of Emmarae Gervasi, 14, as 2 women including ‘loving grandma’ charged with sex trafficking

TWO women have been arrested and charged with sex trafficking for their alleged roles in the disappearance of Emmarae Gervasi.

The 14-year-old was saved by her loving father a month after she disappeared from her home in a “Taken-style” kidnapping.

The number of suspects allegedly involved in the crime now totals seven after Emmarae got into a car outside her home on December 9.

Emmarae was only saved after her heroic dad Frank rescued her from a boat she was being held on in Islip, Long Island, New York.

Suffolk County cops charged Jacquelyn Comiskey, 52, and Elizabeth Hunter, 34, with sex trafficking and endangering the welfare of a child on Monday, according to the New York Post.

Comiskey is alleged to have transported Emmarae to Bunice Knight’s home in exchange for crack cocaine the day before she was found on the boat.

Comiskey claimed to be a loving grandmother on her Instagram page, according to Greater Long Island news.

Both pleaded not guilt to the charges when they appeared in front of a judge at Suffolk County First District Court.

Their bail was set at $750,000 each.

Knight, 47, of Copiague, New York, was arrested and charged a fortnight ago with endangering the welfare of a child.

Francis Buckheit, 65, was later arrested and charged with rape, kidnapping and acting in a manner injurous to a child in connection to the shocking case.

Both Knight and Buckheit have pleaded not guilty.

Frank reacted to the news of Knight’s arrest in a Facebook post saying: “What happens in the dark will come to the light as I said over and over again.”

Three other men have also been charged in the case.

Alton Harrell, 63, was arrested on Jan. 17, while Daniel Burke, 63, and Robert Eccleston, 63, were arrested on Jan. 24.

They were all charged with kidnapping, rape and endangering the welfare of a child but pleaded not guilty.

HERO DAD’S INVESTIGATION

Emmarae was last seen before her disappearance getting into a car outside her home in East Patchogue, Suffolk County, New York on December 9.

Frank revealed Emmarae had struggled with drug abuse in the past and was wearing a monitoring ankle bracelet at the time.

Emmarae was seen on security footage less than 24 hours after her shock disappearance knocking on doors and helplessly wandering around Bohemia, New York.

But she disappeared again.

Frank Gervasi launched his own investigation into the disappearance of his daughter in a “Taken-style” effort to save his daughter.

A court-ordered ankle monitor the teen was wearing was found cut off a block away from the home.

He said at the time: “I fear that she is being held against her will.

“I know she is with somebody and they are either convincing her to stay or won’t let her leave or worse she may be dead by now.

“The lady who gave me the tip was afraid to go in the boat.”

Frank desperately began to appeal for information about his daughter on social media as cops couldn’t find her.

A month later, an anonymous phone tip allowed Frank to stage the miraculous rescue before even the cops could reach Emmarae.

Frank found his daughter barefoot wearing no jacket and without a cell phone at the time.

He had no idea if she was alive.

Frank pulled off the miraculous rescue by following up his own leads.

Frank says Emmarae was sex-trafficked and plied with drugs by “unsavoury characters”.

He said: “She was not allowed to leave the boat unless she was escorted by somebody.

“So I do believe this is sex-trafficking, and it’s being looked into.”

Frank confirmed he arrived at the crime scene before the police, in a real-life Taken movie-style hunt , according to News 12.

In the blockbuster Hollywood movie, an American father tracks down and saves his daughter after she was kidnapped by criminals while on vacation in Paris.

After the rescue, Frank said: “It was 26 days of hell seeing her alive in my arms.

“It was a gift from God. I can’t describe the feeling I had when I grabbed her.”

‘Need this in my wardrobe immediately’ cry RTE star Sinead Kennedy’s fans as she dons edgy €225 dress live on TV

RTE star Sinead Kennedy has stepped out in a vibrant smock dress live on air – and fans have all been left drooling over it.

The Today host was back on screens this week to present the hit chat show alongside Daithi O’Se.

Sinead’s fans were all left swooning over the TV look

Sinead took her style to another level as she appeared in the RTE studios wearing an edgy floral printed smock dress from Queens of Archive.

The fabulous frock had a dramatic silhouette with padded shoulders and a statement velvet bow hanging from the neck.

The sleeves were ballooned and cuffed at the bottom with silver buttons.

The Irish host oozed colour in the rosey red and baby pink floral pattern – miles away from the dreary Irish weather we’ve been having.

The unique Frankie Electric Mini Dress currently retails for €225 online – ideal for a spring wedding.

Sinead wore the smock dress with her favourite pair of black leather knee-high boots from Saint Laurent, which she claimed she “lives in”.

She finished off the trendy look with some mini silver hoop earrings and matching rings.

The popular presenter gushed over the designer dress in her caption as she wrote: “This dress is a few seasons old – Queens of Archive. Love the cuffs, big sleeves, big shoulder, the bow… I love everything about it really.”

Of course, fans and friends all ran to the comment section to swoon over the fantastic dress.

Ireland AM star Muireann O’Connell wrote: “Oh bebe.”

Niamh said: “I need this in my wardrobe IMMEDIATELY.”

Lizzy remarked: “You look like a rock star.”

Nina added: “Omg this is FABULOUS.”

While Anna wrote: “This dress is divine.”

And that’s not the only stylish look Sinead has sported on the show this month.

On Tuesday, Sinead was a vision as she sported a “stunning” look with sentimental value.

MUM’S WARDROBE

The mum-of-two looked sensational as she donned an oversized pinstripe denim coloured blazer.

She explained to fans in her caption that the blazer once belonged to her mum, before she gifted it to Sinead.

To tie her look together, Sinead popped on a pair of black leggings under her blazer.

Sinead wore a pair of her “fave” knee-high black boots that suited her look perfectly.

SO CHIC

She captioned her heartfelt fashion post: “This blazer was my mom’s which she kindly gave to me.

“It formed part of a chic trousers suit but I had a few buttons added to the jacket to enable me to wear it as a dress instead.”

“Thrilled with it and more for the fact that it came from my mom.
The boots are my fav.

The Spanish holiday resort that has the cheapest all-inclusive holidays this summer for families on a budget

THE cheapest resort town for an all-inclusive holiday for families has been revealed and it’s good news for Brits who love Spain.

Salou sits on the Spanish coast of Costa Daurada and is home not just to pretty sandy beaches but three huge theme parks.

For anyone looking for the cheapest all-inclusive hotel in Europe, TravelSupermarket has done the hard work for us.

Out of their top 10 list, TravelSupermarket has declared Hotel Best San Diego as the cheapest all-inclusive.

Hotel San Diego offers prices from £672 per person for a seven-night stay with flights departing from Manchester in July 2025.

For the all-inclusive option, the hotel offers buffet style breakfast, lunch and dinner. Drinks are served throughout the day as are snacks.

It’s a hotel worth the trip if you love the beach, as it’s within walking distance of not one, not two, but three beaches: Levante Beach, Capellans Beach, and Larga Beach.

As for activities, there’s a games room, gym and entertainment programs with sports activities, aqua-gym, water polo and ping-pong.

The second cheapest all-inclusive is Festival Village in Salou, with all-inclusive prices beginning at £604pp for 7 nights in August.

As well as all-inclusive food and drink, there’s outdoor pool to enjoy, a kids’ pool and a playground.

Travel expert Steph Marinkovic at TravelSupermarket loves Salou as a budget-friendly travel destination.

She says it’s a great place to “enjoy volleyball on Llevant Beach” or “cool off at PortAventura World”.

PortAventura World is a huge theme park with 40 rides as well as a water park next door, Caribe Aquatic Park, that has flumes, waterfalls and relaxing pools.

Across from the park is Ferrari Land, which has car-themed rides and simulators; it’s a great spot for fans of F1.

Ferrari Land is also home to Europe’s tallest and fastest roller coaster, Red Force. Be warned, it’s a scary one as it reaches speeds of 112 mph and its maximum height is 367 ft.

Don’t feel like you have to stay in Salou, though. You’ll find Barcelona is just 90 minutes away for a perfect day trip to see the stunning Sagrada Familia and Güell Park.

The next location that offers the cheapest all-inclusive is Calas de Majorca.

The resort town on the island of Majorca is a great place for a holiday if you love beautiful beaches like Cala Domingos. It’s also a great destination for exploration.

Up the road is Cala Millor, which is perfect for watersports including sailing, snorkelling, scuba diving, windsurfing, kayaking and surfing.

For driving fans, there are buggy tours all over the island, and the heritage Drach Caves, where you’ll discover four natural underground lakes, are 20 minutes away.

Caló des Moro ('small bay'), also Cala de Sa Comuna, is a bay in the southeast of the Spanish Balearic island of Mallorca. It is located on the coast of the municipality of SantanyÃ, southwest of the village of Cala Llombards, towards Cap de Ses Salines, the South Cape Mallorcas.
Mallorca is a great place the anyone who loves swimming, paddle boarding and exploring caves

The third resort town, Alanya, is great for anyone wanting to venture further than Spain.

Steph Marinkovic said the Turkish resort offers “incredible value” and what Brits always want to hear—it has “12 hours of daily sunshine in August”.

The Kleopatra Beach stretches for over a mile meaning it’s likely to never be too crowded to find a sun-lounging space.

For fans of sightseeing, there’s a chance to see the medieval castle, or take boat trips from the marina.

We had a great time at PortAventura World and took on the challenge of going on all the rollercoasters in one day.

Here’s more on Red Force, the fastest rollercoaster in Ferrari Land.

4 key questions in ‘cruel’ murder of undertaker, 36, found lying in blood after party as gardai in new ‘priority’ appeal

GARDAI have issued a renewed appeal for information on the 20th anniversary of the murder of Shaun Duffy in Co Donegal.

The 36-year-old bachelor, who worked as an undertaker and a mechanic, was found lying in a pool of his own blood on Saturday, January 29 2005, after attending his brother’s birthday party.

Superintendent David Kelly said gardai are treating the case as a priority[/caption]

Shaun was well known both locally and throughout the country, including in Dublin, due to his interests in horses and motor sports.

He was a local man and lived in a bungalow at Meenacross, just outside Dungloe, and had worked as a bouncer at many events in west Donegal.

Shaun, who weighed 19 stone and was well over six feet tall, was found face down on a sofa in his home with an 18 inch arrow protruding from his arm two decades ago today.

Speaking at the 2010 inquest into Shaun’s death, Coroner John Cannon said: “This was the perpetuation of a cruel, calculated, cold, callous death of a human being.”

Gardai have conducted over 1,550 enquiries and recorded statements from over 600 persons in connection with the investigation.

However, no one has ever been arrested in connection with the incident and the case remains active and unsolved.

Superintendent David Kelly today confirmed that the solving of this murder “continues to be a priority” for An Garda Siochana.

And four key questions remain in the probe as cops continue to search for the person or persons responsible for the killing.

WHAT HAPPENED IN HOURS BEFORE MURDER?

ON THE day before his murder, Friday January 28, Shaun travelled to Letterkenny where he accompanied his brother to collect furniture.

He then made a few visits locally before returning home.

Later on that night, Shaun went to the Strand View Bar – which is about four miles outside of Dungloe – to attend his younger brother Kevin’s birthday party with friends and family.

Shaun was described as being in “good form” during the night.

The mechanic went back to his mother’s house in Meenacross alongside other members of the party at the end of the night.

Gardai said “nothing out of the ordinary occurred” and Shaun, who was the second eldest of eight siblings, left his mother’s house at 2:20am and drove his green Mercedes estate car around 500 yards back to his own home.

HOW WAS SHAUN KILLED & WHERE IS MURDER WEAPON?

IT’S understood that nobody heard from Shaun for the rest of the night.

His mother tried to ring him the next morning but could not get through.

She asked his younger brother Kevin to call into Shaun to see if there was any issue.

Shaun’s body was discovered by his brother at 2.25pm on Saturday 29 January 2005.

Shaun had been lying in a pool of blood and splatter was on the walls of the house following what appeared to be a frenzied attack.

The popular young man had been stabbed four times and sustained severe head injuries, also receiving a wound to his right arm, consistent with a crossbow injury.

Gardai said there were no signs of a break in but there were signs of a struggle.

Twenty years later, the weapons used in the killing have not been identified or recovered, but Chief Supt Noel White confirmed at the time that a crossbow had been used in the attack.

Officers combed the rough undergrowth in the surrounding area in the days following the killing in a detailed search for the murder weapon or other evidence, but turned up nothing.

WAS SOMEONE LYING IN WAIT FOR SHAUN?

One theory that was probed by gardai is that an attacker or attackers had been lying in wait for Shaun in the house.

Gardai suspect that this could have led to a violent struggle breaking out, which led to Shaun’s death.

Supt White said in 2005 that gardai were interested in talking to any taxi drivers who worked in the Dungloe area that night.

They appealed for any information on anyone who may have carried a passenger or passengers to or from the location of the crime.

Shaun’s sister Karena Tooms told Donegal Daily that she believes that somebody local knows who killed her brother.

She said: “I believe it was somebody from outside who was brought in to murder Shaun.

“But I know they had to have local help and knowledge. They knew his movements and where he lived. Somebody helped them kill Shaun.”

WHY ARE GARDAI LOOKING FOR INFORMATION NOW?

Gardai issued a renewed appeal for information on the killing on the 20th anniversary of Shaun’s passing.

Superintendent David Kelly said the solving of the murder is a “priority” for Gardai and explained that they believe a number of people with information on the killing have not yet come forward.

Kelly said: “The investigation team at Milford Garda Station would like to thank those who have offered valuable information or assistance to the investigation to date.

“With the passage of time, some person may now be in a position to provide information to investigating Gardai that they could not provide at the time, or maybe some person who did provide information at the time may be now in a position to provide further information.

“Gardai encourage anyone whom they may or may not have spoken to previously, to come forward.

“Investigating Gardaí in Milford continue to appeal for information in this case and believe that a number of people have yet to come forward who may now be in a position to assist in bringing those responsible to justice.”

Gardai said any information received will be treated with “absolute confidentiality”.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Milford Garda Station on 074 915 3060 or the Garda Confidential line on 1800 666 111.
