‘I can get to No1’ says Luke Littler as he reveals exactly why he believes he can overtake rival Humphries THIS YEAR

LUKE LITTLER has warned Luke Humphries he is gunning for his world No1 spot.

The two Lukes are the only players on the darts PDC Order of Merit who have earned more than £1million in prize money over the past 24 months.

However, Humphries is defending a lot of cash in the autumn and winter – banked from victories in the 2023 season – and this gives the Nuke the chance to close the financial gap.

Especially as Littler only turned professional at the start of the 2024 campaign and as a free hit going forward.

This weekend it is the World Masters, the first ranking tournament of 2025 since the conclusion of the PDC World Darts Championship at Ally Pally.

Littler – who went bowling with his mates on his 18th birthday on January 21 – said: “Luke Humphries has a lot to defend.

“So, maybe I could get to world No.1 This year I’m not defending any prize money.

“We all know Luke has the capabilities to go and defend all that he won two years back.

“I’m hoping I can either stop him or other players do – so I can get to No.1.

“There has been a bit of rust from all of us since the Worlds. I don’t have any expectations.

Inside Littler's massive rise

LUKE LITTLER has taken the darts world by storm since exploding onto the scene at the PDC World Championship at the beginning of the year.

The Nuke reached the final on his Ally Pally debut at just 16 years of age – smashing records along the way.

He has then gone on to win a host of PDC events and the Premier League title – which he claimed at the O2 Arena by beating world champion Luke Humphries in May.

He also finished his first season in the World Series as the No1 ranked player.

He has joined Jude Bellingham on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe list.

And the teenage titan even had to snub an invite from the WWE.

The Sun exclusively revealed that Littler is plotting to create a fitness empire.

He is also cashing in away from the Oche thanks to an Instagram side hustle.

And he’s even the face of a brand new cereal.

But he is newly single after splitting from girlfriend Eloise Milburn following a 10-month relationship.

CASINO SPECIAL – BEST CASINO BONUSES FROM £10 DEPOSITS

“People will think I’ll win everything. I don’t know what to expect from myself.”

Littler’s opponent on Friday night is the Belgian qualifier Andy Baetens, who fancies his prospect of an upset in Milton Keynes.

Littler won the first PDC professional clash 6-1 last August in a ProTour event but Baetens, 35, got the better of the Warrington teenager on the amateur Modus Super Series in 2023.

The Beast from the East – the world No.94 and the 2023 WDF world champion – said: “I’ve beaten him four times.

“In my opinion, he’s the best in the world, so we will see. I am a little bit better as a player than last year. I train a lot.

“Qualifying for the Masters was very hard. I am proud to get through.”

Netflix’s biggest show reveals release date of final ever series – and confirms return of spin-off

NETFLIX has confirmed that one of its biggest global franchises will finish this summer.

The Squid Games guards will barely have had time to get the blood stains out of their iconic overalls before the show’s producers have confirmed their next outing.

They have also confirmed that the UK made spin off Squid Game Challenge series will return this year too.[/caption]

The violent Korean global hit will officially now end this year with the third, and final, instalment set for release on June 27.

Fans can expect to see the action pick up right where series two left off with Gi-hun, played by Lee Jung-jae, facing despair as he’s thwarted at every turn by the Front Man.

The streaming giant has also teased details of the final act with the release of a poster for the series that carries that tag line ‘Prepare for the final game’.

It features one of the game’s pink clad guards dragging the dead body of player 214 towards a coffin which is wrapped in a pink bow.

It mirrors the poster for the previous series but the coffin is now open and the rainbow track that featured in the six legged contest has been swapped for a floral swirl pattern.

For eagled -eyed fans they will also notice that two sinister shadows are cast over the scene.

These relate to the cryptic foreshadowing we got in the post credit scene in the last episode of series two where three players are seen following the game’s murderous, doll, Young-hee.

Her iconic pigtails are clearly recognisable and the poster also features her new companion, Cheol-su, her male equivalent who, it appears, will play a key role in the final series.

Producers of the show will be sure they can recreate the run away success of the last two gory instalments.

Series two became the third most-watched season on Netflix ever, attracting an incredible 68 million views upon its debut — breaking records for the most views in a first week.

It also ranks as number one in the Top 10 Non-English TV Series list across 92 countries.

There was also a second exciting Squid Games announcement made as Netlix confirmed the return of the hugely popular Squid Games The Challenge series.

The UK made show was watched by almost 30 million viewers in just its first three weeks and is a real life version of the adrenaline fuelled fictional contest.

It will see 456 real players from all over the world competing in games recreated from the drama in pursuit of a life-changing reward of $4.56 million – or around £3.6m.

The previous version of the show saw 55-year-old immigration adjudicator, Mai, clinch the money and plan a peaceful retirement helping charities close to her heart.
