Ronan O’Gara doesn’t mince his words in advice to Jack Crowley over being dropped for Sam Prendergast

MUNSTER legend Ronan O’Gara believes Ireland have got it right in picking Sam Prendergast over Jack Crowley for tomorrow’s game with England.

Crowley looked to be the main in possession of the No. 10 shirt following Johnny Sexton’s retirement after the 2023 World Cup and guided Ireland to last year’s Championship.

But Prendergast, 21, made his debut last November and got the starting job for the final game of last year against Australia.

And interim coach Simon Easterby has kept faith with him at half-half for the Six Nations opener tomorrow with England.

But La Rochelle coach O’Gara – a former No. 10 – believes it is the right one as he thinks Crowley has not progressed as he hoped since last year’s Championship.

He told Off the Ball: “He’d want to be careful, he might find himself outside the 23 which happens sometimes with the No.10s.

“He can easily go into the group of 30 to 45 who don’t play. It’s not ruthless at all, really, I don’t think.

“He had a fantastic Six Nations for Ireland, and Ireland did, but he didn’t kick on.

“He had a South African tour and he opened the door for competitors to keep having bites, and then in November it was the same.

“I’m a big fan of his and I like what he stands for but you can’t do that.

“It’s confirmed by the announcement of the team to play England, that in the management’s eyes Sam is the better player.

“So Jack has to accept that and say, ‘OK, we’re not building for the future, we’re not looking at my number two’. He’s number two’.

“That was probably hard to take but if he takes good messages from that, replay every action in his head, ‘what will I do here, do I confirm what he’s done, where am I seeing the space?’.

“Sam Prendergast has been exceptional for Leinster.

“Jack has been like a yo-yo for Munster and when you’re a yo-yo for Munster you don’t get in the Irish team.”

New Legoland attraction to open in Europe with huge pirate playground, ships and slides

DENMARK’S Legoland is opening a new pirate playground.

When the Billund theme park reopens in April, there will be a new surprise for kids – a pirate playground with huge ship and inclusive play area.

The tallest mast of the ship stands at 37ft high[/caption]

As a new part of Pirate Land, the park will be hard to miss thanks to its new huge ship, which is 70ft long with a 37ft high mast.

It’s set to “inspire imagination” as children can aim cannons, climb up and down the ship, and use the yellow slides.

The three-floor ship is made with accessibility in mind, with a ramp allowing wheelchair access.

Like other parks, there will be a Legoland character ready to walk the plank, and available for a meet and greet too.

Captain Redbeard will be wandering the park looking for his treasure, as well as high fiving kids and ready for photo opportunities.

The giant ship isn’t the only part of the playground – there’s also the ‘King Crab Island’.

Aimed for smaller children, this is where they can climb, use the slides and have their own adventure in the park.

Around Pirate Land are obstacles for the older kids and building areas where everyone can get creative with LEGO – even the parents.

Fans of LEGO will recognise the ship that was inspired by their model, The Brick Bounty.

It’s not the only Pirate Land that’s having a new addition, as so will Miniland, based on the Danish city of Aarhus.

Joining Miniland are the cities landmarks, like the cathedral which took an incredible 2300 hours to build – which is the equivalent of 95 days.

A City Hall building which is made up of 500,000 LEGO bricks and was created in 850 hours.

In total, the new Miniland created were built from 2.5 million LEGO bricks.

The LEGO city joins the other Danish miniatures of Copenhagen, Skagen, Ribe, and Esbjerg.

In Billund, the LEGO shop has also undergone a transformation where you can also design and personalise your very own LEGO Minifigure to make it one of a kind.

You can buy a day pass online for 299 DKK (£33.49) when the park reopens in April 2025.

What is Legoland Billund like?

Sun Travel took a trip to Legoland Billund - and here's what we thought...

Legoland Billund is a paradise for Lego enthusiasts and families alike, offering a mix of creativity, nostalgia, and thrills.

The standout Lego House is an interactive wonderland where you can build, animate, and even have your meal served by a Lego robot, all while marvelling at jaw-dropping dioramas and ingenious creations.

The adjoining Legoland theme park brings high-energy fun with attractions like the Polar X-plorer rollercoaster, alongside a Scandinavian-flavoured Miniland filled with intricate automations.

For accommodation, the Lego-themed Castle Hotel is a sensory delight for children, though dining options are better explored in the town of Billund.

Beyond the Lego universe, highlights include the Trapholt modern art museum, the Viking-themed Kongernes Jelling, the Wow Park adventure playground, and the exhilarating Lalandia AquaDome waterpark.

Moment drug-dealing rugby player crashes after leading cops on 140mph chase

THIS is the terrifying moment a drug-dealing rugby player crashes his BMW after leading cops on a 140mph chase.

Maredudd Francis, 31, is the former captain of the Welsh rugby union team RGC, but now his “ludicrous” driving has put him behind bars.

Horrifying footage, taken from the dashcam of a police car, shows Francis flying down the M56.

The rugby player makes no attempt to signal as he weaves through traffic nor does he acknowledge any traffic lights.

He then fails to break as a red-pick up truck approaches Junction 10.

Francis slams into the truck, sending it skidding across the road.

He quickly jumps out of his smoking car and holds his hands up.

An officer can be heard saying: “I’ll go through a drug wipe with you because you stink of cannabis.”

During the chase, officers also noticed him throwing little white packages out of his passenger side window.

They initially spotted the vehicle due to its connection with a drug chain in North Wales.

Police tried to bring Francis to a halt by signalling to him but instead he drives on.

Afterwards, Francis was arrested for dangerous driving and on suspicion of money laundering.

He went to extreme efforts to try and destroy his phone but later admitted that a large quantity of cash wrapped in a rubber band found in the passenger footwell belonged to him.

This led to a full search of his property and officers found 8.6kg worth of cocaine, with a potential street value of over £317,000, with around 380kg of cannabis estimated to be worth up to £3,500.

They also found about 1,000 cigarettes, a Rolex watch, Christian Dior shoes and a pair of Versace sunglasses in a suitcase.

Francis was sentenced to four years in prison earlier this week at Mold Crown Court.

Prosecuting, Josh Gorst, told the court how Francis reached speeds of 139mph despite heavy traffic.

Francis pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, possession with intent to supply class A drugs (cocaine), possession with intent to supply class B drugs (cannabis) and possession of criminal property.

Following the sentencing, C AJ Reid said Francis had “blatant disregard” for the safety of other road users as he drove at “frankly ludicrous speeds” – adding it is a “testament to how guilty he was”.

He continued: “The evidence we subsequently found in his vehicle after his arrest, paired with considerable lengths Francis went to attempting to destroy one of his phones that we seized from him whilst he was in handcuffs, led our us to believe that we were dealing with serious drug dealing operation.

“Our suspicions were proven when our subsequent searches found a myriad of both class A and class B substances in his associated address, along with copious amounts of cash, designer goods and apparatus synonymous with drug supply.”

Nintendo Switch Online adds popular old-school racing title to its free gaming lineup

NINTENDO is known for having the cheapest subscription service, with almost 300 games you can play as part of the package.

Switch Online also only adds games and never removes them, giving even better value to the service.

The one downside is that Nintendo Switch Online only features older games from Nintendo’s library.

The most recent console included in the selection is the N64, meaning that the games are at least 20 years old.

However, Nintendo has an excellent selection of legacy games, so people still love what Switch Online has to offer.

Earlier this week, Nintendo announced that three SNES games, including Fatal Fury 2 had been added to the platform.

The latest game to be added to Nintendo Switch Online is Ridge Racer 64, which, as the title suggests, was originally released for the N64.

This means that it is only part of Nintendo Switch Online’s more expensive tier, Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack.

Ridge Racer is a long-running and popular series of racing games, but this is the only entry that was launched on the N64.

Originally released in 2000, there are 20 tracks that players can race on, including some from older entries in the series.

The version available on Nintendo Switch Online will include online multiplayer, so up to four people can race against each other.

If you want to play Ridge Racer 64 on your Switch, you will need to be subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack.

You can then go to the eShop on your Nintendo Switch and download the N64 app.

Choose the game that you want to play via the app, and the game should open with benefits such as save states.
