SHIRLEY Ballas’s ex-fiancé Danny Taylor was supported by pals as he joined the congregation at Linda Nolan’s funeral.
The 51-year-old actor, who has previously worked with Linda, was seen looking sombre as he arrived with a glamorous red head who offered him emotional support.

The pair kept a low profile as they arrived at the service, before Linda’s glittery pink coffin was brought in by pallbearers at St Paul’s Church in Blackpool.
Looping arms, they leaned on each other for support before entering the church.
While Danny wore a suit, the woman he was with wore a chic black coat with fur-trimmed collar.
They were joined at the event by celebrity loved ones and pals, including Linda’s sisters, Coleen, Anne, Maureen and Denise Nolan, as well as Paul Chuckle, Shane Ritchie, Charlotte Dawson and Tommy Cannon.
After news of Linda’s death was announced, Liverpudlian Danny shared a tribute to her, revealing Linda to be a mother-figure for him during his time in the industry, working alongside her in a West End production of Blood Brothers.
“My dear showbiz mam and friend who like many I absolutely loved and adored,” he wrote.
“An absolute force of nature with the DNA of the role of Mrs Johnstone running through her veins which she made so brilliantly her own.”
He declared Linda was: “feisty, loyal, funny, inspirational and much more with bigger balls than any fella I’ve ever known.”
“My thoughts are with her glorious sisters, family and pals that are grieving her loss right now. One in a million but at least your back with your beloved Brian and of course Bernie.
“Thank you for being there xxxx Love and miss you already. So so sad ..YNWA.”
Actor Danny, who has appeared in a string of theatre shows as well as Brookside and Game On and The Liver Birds, made news in November last year after splitting with Strictly star Shirley Ballas.
The couple were together for six years, meeting while in a panto production of Jack and The Beanstalk, before getting engaged in 2021.
However, the couple later called off the engagement in 2024, with Shirley stating she’d “changed her mind” about marriage, before they split for good in November 2024.
A source told The Sun: “As with any break-up, it is, of course, a very sad situation.
“She gave her all to that relationship and in the end came to the realisation that it wasn’t going anywhere. She made a lot of effort to see Danny and support his theatre and panto work, travelling up and down the country.
“Distance also played its part – Shirley lives in London with her mother and Danny remains based in Liverpool; that commute is a killer.
“But Shirley is a strong, resilient character and is looking better than ever. She will 100% bounce back – 2025 promises to be an absolute corker for her.”

WET windows, black mould on silicone and damp smells are common household issues during the winter.
But Aldi is helping homeowners tackle these problems with cheap gadgets.
Aldi is selling the Unibond Aero 360 Compact for only £10.99ALDIIt’s perfect for small rooms or cupboardsALDI
In the latest Specialbuys drop, the popular supermarket is selling the Unibond Aero 360 Compact.
Priced at just £10.99 it is described as a “dehumidifier unit”.
It is said to “absorbs excess moisture and neutralises bad smells in your home”, and is “ideal for rooms up to 20m2”.
As for how effective it is, Dunelm sells the same gadget but for £12.50, and many shoppers have left reviews.
It has a 4.4 out of five star rating, and one user explained how it “helped dry out a corner kitchen cupboard that struggled with damp”.
They added: “[It] started working within days and lasted a couple of weeks.”
Another wrote: “Moisture absorber does what it says on the box – good for small rooms, wardrobes, stored vehicles.”
A third commented: “I’ve had this for a few weeks now and there’s been a noticeable improvement.
“It genuinely does remove damp and odours from the air/walls.”
Someone else said it was “effective in combatting condensation” and explained how they “used it in a corner of my living room that is prone to condensation” and it “worked really well”.
Tracy gave it a five star rating and her review read: “Done a fantastic job in my son’s bedroom.
“He usually has condensation at the bottom of his window every morning.
“This has completely eliminated it.
“We have it on the windowsill, and just make sure there is a very small gap at the bottom of his roller blind.”
Also available in the same Specialbuys drop is the Ambiano Electric Window Cleaner.
For just £14.99, it is considerably cheaper than leading brand Kärcher and it’s cheapest model £39.99.
Whilst it is most commonly used for cleaning windows, some homeowners use it during the winter months to suck condensation off their windows.
It comes in two colours: white/grey or blue/dark blue, with a rechargeable battery.
What is mould and how to get rid of it?
Mould is more likely to grow during the winter months.
Olivia Young, Product Development Scientist at Astonish revealed exactly why this is.
“Unfortunately, mould is a common problem many people face during winter. It thrives in conditions that are warm and damp, so your bathrooms are likely to be the most affected place.
“That said, during the colder months most rooms in your home could be vulnerable to mould growing.
“This occurs primarily from condensation that builds up on your windows when you’ve got your radiators on.
“If you think about it, when windows and doors are closed, there’s not much chance for the air to circulate and the moisture to make a swift exit.
“This build up is what can cause dreaded mould to make an appearance, especially in bathrooms, as it creates that warm and wet environment that is a breeding ground for mould.
“If left untreated, not only is it unsightly but it can also pose a serious risk to your health, so it’s really important you treat it.
“The key to tackle mould is to act fast.
“Try to come into as little contact with it as you can. So, grab your gloves, tie up your hair and get to work to remove any signs of mould as soon as you notice them.
“To keep mould at bay, there are some simple solutions you can introduce throughout home.
“The first is keep it ventilated. Yes, even in the cold winter months try to leave your bathroom window open for at least 10/15 minutes post shower or bath. This will get rid of any excess moisture quickly preventing mould gathering.
“If you’re having a repeat problem with mould in one particular area, it might be because the humidity levels are too high. You can get a dehumidifier that will help keep the levels low and reduce the risk of mould returning.
“The golden rule to remember when dealing with mould is the quicker you can treat it, the better. If you leave it, it will only get worse so never ignore it!
“To successfully get rid of mould every time, I recommend opting for the UK’s No 1 Mould & Mildew Remover, that effectively removes mould and mildew stains almost instantly, with no scrubbing necessary.”

Shirley Ballas has opened up on the real reason she signed up for TV’s toughest new show Celebrity Bear Hunt.
Speaking to The Sun’s TV Mag while the terrible fires are raging in Los Angeles, where her son Mark and Derek and Julianne Hough, who she fostered as children, live.

Strictly Come Dancing star Shirley Ballas is this week’s TV Mag cover star
“They’ve all been evacuated,” reveals the 64-year-old Strictly Come Dancing judge.
“The fires are everywhere, it’s shocking. You can’t really comprehend what’s happening, it’s just staggering.
“So that’s been on my mind all day at work. But anyway, I’m delighted to be here talking about Celebrity Bear Hunt – it’s a bit of light relief for me.”
Talking about it, that may be, the show itself was far from light relief.
Hosted by Holly Willoughby, the eight-part competitive reality series sees 12 celebrities – including Shirley – dropped into the Costa Rican jungle, where they’re subjected to all manner of tough physical challenges.
In each episode, the celebs who perform worst face the ‘Bear Hunt’, in which survival king Bear Grylls (top right) attempts to track them down as they race through a vast stretch of critter-filled jungle known as the Bear Pit.
So why would Shirley, who’s more used to the glitz and glamour of the Strictly ballroom, want to put herself through such a punishing ordeal?
“I’ll be 65 this year and in these however many years I have left, I wanted to put myself outside the box and do things that perhaps I never would in ordinary life,” she says.
“I don’t like jungles. I don’t like snakes, I don’t like spiders and I certainly don’t like those ants that when they fall on you they bite you half to death.
“But the day I stop challenging myself will be the day they put me in the wooden box.
“We have such a short space of time to be here, life is but a fleeting glance. I want to take advantage of every possible thing that I can.
“The Masked Singer, for example, which I did last year, was way out of my comfort zone – but no more so than Strictly is for the people who go on that.
“They’re drowning in their own fear, some of them, and that’s a little bit how I was when I did this.”
Her natural enthusiasm meant that Shirley, who was born in Wallasey, Merseyside, was more than ready to muck in with her fellow contestants – despite the discomforts and a base camp (above) left partially open to the elements.

“Living with 11 other celebrities in the same room, that was a challenge because I’m a neat freak,” she says.
“My kitchen has to be tidy. I took on the mother role a little bit, I was smartening up people’s beds – not because I had to but because I like everything orderly.
“I’m not a diva. I’m working-class, I come from a housing estate. I’ve done well for myself, but I don’t need people carrying my bags.
“I don’t need people making my tea. When someone tells me I should be there at nine o’clock, I’m there at quarter to nine. I don’t require anybody to take care of me. I can take care of myself.”
Although the show pushed her to her limits, Shirley – who tragically lost her brother David to suicide in 2003 – says her resilience helped her through.
“I’m more resourceful than I think,” she shares.
I don’t require anybody to take care of me. I can take care of myself”
Shirley Ballas
“First of all, I didn’t need a mobile phone. They took them off you, so that was detoxing. I’ve never needed a lot to live.
“I’ve moved 28 times. If you said tomorrow I was going to move, I could pack my bag and go. So it was easy for me to settle in with the few things we had.
“When my brother passed, I had to drive up north.
“I stayed there for two weeks and had a small backpack. I realised that I didn’t really need anything in life.
“You only need your loved ones, they’re the most important things.
“You come in with nothing, you go out with nothing. There’s no pockets in that coffin.”
Shirley says that although Mark, Derek and Julianne were excited when she told them that she was doing Celebrity Bear Hunt – “They all gave me tips” – her 87-year-old mother Audrey wasn’t quite so pleased.
“My mother went to her room, closed that door and wouldn’t come out, she was so upset,” Shirley admits.
“‘You’re going to get bitten by a snake, you’re too old, you’re going to hurt yourself,’ she said.
“It was all: ‘What if this, what if that?’ I think it took her a good 24 hours to come around to it – and even in the end, I don’t think she really did. She was glad when I eventually came home.”
“I learned that it’s okay to be on my own.”
Shirley Ballas
It’s been a difficult few months for Shirley.
Not only has she been concerned about her loved ones out in Los Angeles, but in November her six-year relationship with actor Danny Taylor came to an end.
Fortunately, Celebrity Bear Hunt has taught the star some important lessons about herself.

“I learned that it’s okay to be on my own,” she says. “When the other celebs had to go off and do challenges, I would go and sit by the sea, and actually it was quite reflective.
“I think I’ve been a bit co-dependent with the people around me. So, come what may, I will survive on my own, with or without you. If you want to be on my team, good for you, and if you don’t, that’s okay too.”
As for the future, Shirley wants to devote as much time as she can to her 15-month old grandson, Banksi, the child of her son Mark and his wife BC Jean.
“Mark was so gracious when I went over to LA this time,” she says. “I actually got to bathe my grandson, and feed him, because they were busy.
“The last time I went, they were always around. He is my goal at the moment. I want to be there, I want to see him when he grows up and things like that. I’m totally in love.”

A train station in Estonia is to undergo a huge redevelopmentZaha Hadid ArchitectsThe Vilnius train station has been redesigned by Zaha Hadid Architects[/caption]

And the new high speed train line includes a number of huge new stations.
One of these is a massive new redevelopment of the Vilnius station in Lithuania.
Having first opened in 869, it was destroyed in World War II and rebuilt in 1950, before being renovated in both 1998 and 2023.
The upgraded station is being designed by British fim Zaha Hadid Architects.
A huge bridge-concourse would be added above the tracks with footbridges and bike lanes.
This would connect the station to the city centre and old town as well as the southern neighborhoods.
Additional seating and trees are part of the exterior spaces, and a new bus depot and car parking would be added,
Zaha Hadid Architect’s director said it was a “futureproof transport hub designed with the passenger experience in mind”.
Vilnius International Airport, which is expected to welcome up to 17million passengers by 2052, is increasing its capacity.
The new departure terminal is due to open this month 0 doubling passenger traffic – while a new arrivals terminal will open by 2028.
And the addition of Rail Baltica will make the city even easier to get to.
Hoping to also link to Poland and Finland, it could cost as much as £20billion when finished.
Another new station being built as part of the design is Ülemiste Linda International Passenger Terminal in Estonia.

PAPeter Wright wanted to change his walk-on music – because he looked fat[/caption]
Snakebite has traditionally walked out to Don’t Stop The PartyAP
But after a difficult 2024 season – failing to win a TV major title and dropping out of the top ten in the rankings – and reckoning he had put on weight, Wright wanted it to be a case of ‘new year, new me’ heading into 2025.
However, he said he was blocked from doing so – and instead must stick with his current song.
Wright, 44, said: “Just seen myself up there, big fat fellow jumping across the stage.
“I’ve got to lose a bit of weight.
“I wanted to change my walk-on tune but I wasn’t allowed.”
Despite his disappointing 2024, Wright has started the 2025 season well by beating Luke Humphries at the World Championship and saw off Kevin Doets in his World Masters opener to set up a showdown with Stephen Bunting.
And he is feeling good about himself – both in terms of his darts and his physique.
Wright – “relieved” to be left out of the Premier League line-up – added: “I feel it’s up to me how good I can get as long as I don’t look in the mirror.

“I have got a new buzz. I don’t know what it is, but I feel good and that I can only get better.”
6 days agoLatest NewsComments Off on Don’t “Waste Your Time” With This Popular Skincare Product, Plastic Surgeon Says
Whether you’re focusing on anti-aging or simply trying to make yourself feel good, anyone who’s gotten into skincare knows how easy it can be to overdo it with some products. And it’s not just about overspending on certain items you can get for cheaper elsewhere: Some of the chemicals, serums, and masks on the shelves that promise astonishing results might not deliver in the long run. Unfortunately, this can still be true of incredibly popular skincare products and ingredients—including one that a plastic surgeon says is essentially a waste of time.
One doctor says hyaluronic acid "doesn’t really do anything."
In a recent video posted to TikTok, Daniel Barrett, MD, a plastic surgeon based in Beverly Hills, was asked to share the one skincare product he would never use. He immediately responded that he “wouldn’t waste my time on hyaluronic acid,” adding that it “stays on top of the skin” without really doing anything.
The chemical makeup of the product is to blame.
Shutterstock
Since it entered the market, hyaluronic acid has been touted as a miracle moisturizer, able to bind with over 1,000 times its weight in water as a humectant, according to Harvard Health Press. However, there are still some limitations when used as a topical product.
“Hyaluronic acid is a very large molecule,” explains Barrett. “It doesn’t actually get inside your skin, it just sits on the surface and makes you feel good.”
Part of the issue is that hyaluronic is often touted as a “topical filler” on the shelf, which can be misleading to customers. The product is most effective when applied as an injection, treating everything from sunken cheeks and creases around the mouth and chin to under-eye circles and dry lips, per Harvard Health Press.
Of course, not everyone agreed with Barrett’s assessment. Some TikTokers took to the video’s comment section to voice their own opinions.
“At the very least, it fills in your face lines before putting on makeup,” one replied. “Who cares if it’s just for a few hours until you wash your face?”
Another pointed out that not all versions of the product contain oversized molecules. “[Hyaluronic acid] does exist in three molecular weights, [and] small does penetrate the skin, so it does moisturize it,” one user explains. “Formula is important.”
There are still some cases where hyaluronic acid is useful.
However, Barrett says there are still some reasons to keep hyaluronic acid in your skincare lineup.
“It feels good, so I’m not going to say to never use it,” he admits. “Because if my skin is kind of dry and I kind of want to coat it with something, I would do it.”
According to Harvard Health Press, anyone with dry skin who who wants a “more dewy, moisturized feel to their skin during the cooler months,” can also use topical hyaluronic acid. However, it’s important to remember that it won’t deeply penetrate the skin as an injectable version would.
What is one skincare product you would never use? #skincare #skincaretips #skincareroutine #retinol #hyaluronicacid
The takeaway.
According to one plastic surgeon, hyaluronic acid is one popular skincare product that can be a waste of your time. While it does work well as a topical moisturizer, many formulas of the product are made up of molecules that are simply too big to get absorbed into the skin. Still, it can be helpful for tackling dry skin and “feels good” to apply, stopping it from being a total loss.
