ANGELA Rayner called Prince Andrew “that nonce” in an astonishing rant after his friendship with paedophile Jeffrey Epstein was exposed, according to a new book.
Referring to discussions on whether to dump Andrew from the monarchy, she reportedly said: “I’m not going to vote to keep that nonce on…
“I can’t go back to my constituency and say, yeah, I support that.”
The most damaging comment from a senior MP about a member of the royal family was today revealed in a book about Keir Starmer’s Labour.
In a chapter on Rayner, from the book titled Get In, authors Patrick Maguire and Gabriel Pogrund tell how forcefully the now Deputy Prime Minister dealt with royal issues after the Queen died.
As the opposition’s Commons spokeswoman on questions relating to the monarchy, she reportedly advocated excluding Andrew from royal duties entirely after allegations emerged he sexually abused a 17-year-old and had a close relationship with Epstein — which he has denied.
In 2022, Andrew paid accuser Virginia Giuffre an undisclosed sum, reported to be £12million, to settle her claim for sex assault without admission of wrongdoing.
According to her adviser, Ms Rayner, 44, said: “I know how difficult it is to be in a big, dysfunctional family where you’ve got the black sheep, they’re damaging to you but they’re still your family.”
But she wanted him gone. In the book, an adviser recalled: “She was very actively reaching out to the Palace, and said she thought this was a huge problem, and that the Government needed to address it.
“She’s not anti-monarchist, but she doesn’t like a paedo.”
After her comments, Ms Rayner was said to have been summoned for a Zoom meeting with Cabinet Secretary Simon Case.
The book claims: “After that conversation, she went quiet. She never ever spoke about the royals like that again.”
It comes after emails emerged this week of Andrew telling Epstein in February 2011 to “keep in close touch”, despite claiming in his Newsnight interview that he ceased contact in 2010.
Details also emerged of his relationship with alleged spy Yang Tengbo.
US lawyer Spencer Kurvin, who has represented Epstein’s victims, last night said the King should “hand over Andrew for the FBI to fully investigate his conduct”.

STRICTLY star Nadiya Bychkova puts romantic lobster emojis in posts as code for ex-dance partner Dan Walker.
The phrase “You’re my lobster” became popular in TV’s Friends to refer to a soulmate.
Dan, 47, will join Ukrainian Nadiya, 35, on her new tour.
She recently posted a pic of them and wrote: “Great to catch up with my old Strictly partner Mr Dan Walker.”
The pair performed a jive to The B-52’s hit Rock Lobster when placed fifth in 2021.
Nadiya added two lobster emojis and, referring to upcoming Q&As in Sheffield and Barnsley, said: “May even persuade him to show us a few steps.”
She put the shellfish on her Instagram story when a fan asked if married dad-of-three Dan was on her tour.
Nadiya, who split from Strictly pro Kai Widdrington last July, is often seen with Dan at showbiz events.
Last week they attended The Radio Times Covers Party in London and Dan wrote: “I had a very important job . . . handbag holder for some glamorous ladies.
“I also held on to the belongings of two-time world champion Nadiya Bychkova.”
Nadiya replied: “Thanks partner! You are the best”, again adding two lobsters.

WYNNE Evans has appointed lawyers over his axing from the Strictly UK tour after making lewd jokes.
The Go Compare ads opera singer has hired London-based entertainment law firm Russells.
Sources say Evans, 53, is being advised over the potential to sue for breach of contract and loss of earnings.
It comes as he prepares to face BBC bosses over his inappropriate remarks.
He apologised after being caught on camera using the word “spitroast” towards dancer Janette Manrara, 41, at a Strictly Live tour photocall.
A source close to him said: “He’s been in a bad way all week and his brother and partner have looked after him.
“He’s appointed an expensive law firm to take advice on potentially losing his jobs.”
Last week, he said: “I am deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate actions have caused, and plan to take this time for self-reflection.”
Execs at Go Compare, whose TV ads Wynne has fronted since 2009, are understood to have held crisis meetings on his future.

Tearful Towie star Chloe, 24, had to be ushered out of court as Love Island’s Jack, 33, was jailed for six weeks after pleading guilty to two counts of being in charge of a dangerously out-of-control dog.
He was released on bail on Wednesday, pending an appeal.
Yesterday, Chloe put the court case behind her as she shopped at Lakeside, near her Essex home.
Chloe proved she’s standing by her man as he faces up to six weeks in prison.
He was convicted of a number of dangerous dog offences this week after his cane corso, Elvis, mauled a runner and attacked a woman in two separate attacks.
He already had a suspended sentence for speeding down the hard shoulder in a BMW while on cocaine.
While he appeals his sentence, Jack has been freed from a short stint in jail, and Chloe has shared she is sticking by him throughout the next stages.
Sharing a picture on Instagram of them cuddled on the sofa, Chloe simply wrote: “Love you then @jack_charlesf”
In the snap, Chloe is seen snuggling into Jack’s cheek while they both stare at the camera.
One Direction reunion hopes boosted after Zayn Malik & Louis Tomlinson end bitter feud following Liam Payne’s death
AFTER I revealed that Brit Awards bosses are planning a tribute to Liam Payne, his former One Direction bandmates Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik have called time on their rumoured feud.
Louis showed up to cheer on Zayn this week as he played in Los Angeles for his Stairway To The Sky solo world tour.
Chuffed Zayn announced on stage: “Tonight is special — an old friend of mine is here supporting me. I don’t want to give his location away but Louis is here tonight.”
Meanwhile ideas for how the Brits bash on March 1 can honour Liam, who died in October, are now being discussed, and fans are hoping his old 1D bandmates might be involved.
The music showcase at London’s O2 will be hosted for a fifth time by Liam’s pal Jack Whitehall who was known to enjoy jokes with the singer.
A music source said: “The tribute for Liam is in the early stages, with possibilities being explored, but there is a buzz around celebrating the singer.
Of course, fans hope the remaining One Direction bandmates could come together on stage — it would be unforgettable.”
‘Beautiful, wonderful boy’
Liam will also be honoured during the In Memoriam section of tonight’s Grammy Awards at the Crypto.com Arena in LA — but the 1D lads will not be reuniting there.
For Ben Winston, executive producer of the Grammys show, who worked with the boys on music videos including Night Changes, You & I and Midnight Memories, the Liam tribute will be a moving moment.
He said: “It is a very difficult time. Losing Liam was very, very tough. No doubt about it. But, no, there will be no One Direction performance.
“He was the most beautiful, wonderful boy and I love him very, very much. He is in, of course, our ‘in memoriam’, without question.
“And actually that is a very sad thing for me — when you are going through rehearsals and seeing the clips and a guy that was sat in this office four weeks before that tragedy happened.
“Seeing him up on that screen is not something that I would ever have imagined. It is extra sad for people — not just me who loved Liam, but for many.”
Liam was 31 when he died, after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentine capital Buenos Aires.
His former bandmates Zayn and Louis as well as Harry Styles, and Niall Horan attended his November funeral in Amersham, Bucks.
Liam won seven Brits with One Direction and performed at the event twice with the band and two times solo.
So I reckon a mash-up of his 1D hits and solo songs during the upcoming Brits would be a great way to give thanks.

OLLY MURS is on a mission to fulfil his dream of playing Glastonbury – so he finally gets recognition from the industry’s biggest stars.
The singer, who’s had four No1 singles and five chart-topping albums, reckons he doesn’t get the credit he deserves for his hit career.
He’s never won a Brit Award, despite being nominated, and wishes he got more acknowledgement – which might change if he bags a slot at Worthy Farm.
He said: “If I could do Glastonbury, that would be cool. I don’t care what stage.
“My mates say to me every year, ‘Are we going?’, and I’m like, ‘Nah’. I’ve been there as a fan, but now I’m a singer, I’m waiting for that call and when it comes, we’re going.”
Olly told Mo Gilligan’s podcast that he “wouldn’t change anything about my career” – but admitted: “To be in my actual industry of peers, I’d like it if people at the top of music would say, ‘Nobody gives Olly Murs that credit’.”
He certainly ticks all the boxes for me.
Mel eyes film rights to brave SAS hero’s story
HOLLYWOOD actor Mel Gibson has his sights set on making a film about SAS hero Christian Craighead.
The pair met at an event in Nashville, Tennessee, in December, where Braveheart actor Mel expressed his gratitude to Christian for rescuing victims of a 2019 terror attack.
The former soldier, who was off-duty at the time, raced towards the DusitD2 hotel in Kenya’s capital Nairobi amid fierce fighting to lead survivors to safety.
He was later awarded the Conspicuous Gallantry Cross for his bravery.
A pal said: “Mel felt really humbled by meeting Christian. He told him he’d love to make a movie about his story and his only regret was that he was too old to play Christian himself.
“Certainly, Christian has had a lot of interest in his story being made into a film, so who knows what will happen.”

Channel 4 is in the early stages of resurrecting the popular catty reality fashion series, which was previously hosted by Abbey Clancy, Lisa Snowdon and Elle Macpherson.
A TV insider tells me: “It’s in the very early stages, but there are discussions about bringing back the hit series with execs looking at possibilities to host it.
“The franchise would need modernising and producers are looking at opening the competition to all sexes, which could lead to some interesting storylines and backstage scenes.”
Wannabes better get practising their strut.

THEY were the soundtrack to The Noughties.
But it seems that The Kooks frontmen Luke Pritchard and Hugh Harris have taken a leaf out of the Gen-Z wellness book when it comes to touring these days.
The indie band, who released new single Never Know on Friday, have ditched the wild parties of their youth for chia seeds and celery sticks.
Speaking to Biz on Sunday backstage at London’s Notting Hill Arts Club, Luke said: “I’m quite militant about my die. I eat the same breakfast every day – chia soaked in warm water and lime, yogurt, berries and dark chocolate.
“Hugh does fasting but I don’t.
Hugh said: “Well, fasting is a funny one, isn’t it? Because it’s just not eating, basically. So half the time I’m quite sad because I can’t eat and the other half I have got loads of energy because I’m in autophagy (when the body is starved of food and breaks down its own cells for energy).
“We definitely don’t party as much as we used to. We’re a bit more boring, I suppose, but the world is kind of going in that direction.”

AMERICAN celebs have been deserting the States for our shores in their droves since Donald Trump’s return to power.
I can reveal the latest to pitch up on this side of the Pond is Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, who has snapped up a £1.7million four-bedroom house in London.
A source said: “Billie Joe adores the UK and the anonymity that he gets while over here.
“He hates Trump, even changing his lyrics to many of his songs, and was gutted when he won the presidential election. So snapping up a London property has given him some much-needed freedom, and space to clear his head.
“Of course, he is still in the States a lot for work, and to see his family and friends, so Billie Joe, right, has not cut off ties completely with his homeland.”
Other A-listers to cross from the US to the UK have included comic Ellen DeGeneres as well as actresses Portia De Rossi and America Ferrera.
Speaking about his love of Blighty last year, Dilemna singer Billie Joe said: “Yeah, I’ve been spending a lot of time there this past year and a half. I’ve really grown to love London and hanging out in Islington.
“I’ve been going to a lot of soccer games also. I saw Millwall, I saw Arsenal, I saw Leyton Orient. I love seeing the fans lose their s**t.”
I would probably keep that last bit to yourself mate, otherwise you might just find you are on the receiving end of some of it.
