Driver crashes into family home leaving gaping hole at SAME spot where another car smashed into wall just months earlier
A DRIVER has crashed into a family home in the exact spot where another car smashed into the wall just months before.
Emergency services were called to Tideswell Road in Eastbourne at 3.30pm on Saturday, following reports of the collision.

The property, located opposite The Beacon shopping centre car park, was still boarded up from the first time it had been struck.
In an almost identical crash to one in August 2024, the black Toyota SUV hurled head-on into the wall.
South East Coast Ambulance services said one passenger was given first aid but no one was taken to hospital.
They left the scene at 5.50pm.
Last summer, residents were left “without a home or belongings” when a similar incident occurred.
Kacper and Pamela told the BBC at the time they were watching TV in their ground floor flat when a car smashed through their wall.
The vehicle had plunged so deep inside the property, only its rear end could be seen from the street.
The couple and driver were taken to hospital but only sustained minor injuries.
According to one concerned resident, the property had even been hit several times before that.
“We don’t know if the [building] is going to collapse,” she said.
The cops closed the road whilst they tried to remove the vehicle.
Sussex Police and South East Coast Ambulance services have been contacted for comment.

Helen, 47, was left “traumatised” after her MG ZS EV went rogue and wreaked havoc in a gym car park, smashing into two vehicles and leaving the bumper hanging off.
The legal worker was left in hospital with rib injuries and vowed never to set foot in an electric motor again after the terrifying accident.
Shocking video footage shows her driving towards GAH Gym in Pontypridd before the car makes a sudden right turn into the building.

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire shock as Anton Du Beke leaves with just £1k after getting ‘easy’ musical question wrong
WHO Wants To Be A Millionaire fans were left shocked as Anton Du Beke left with just £1k tonight.
Strictly judge Anton, 58, appeared on the ITV1 celebrity special, hoping to win big for charity.
![Screenshot of a game show question: "Which Tony Award-winning musical features a mash-up called 'Elephant Love Medley'?" with multiple-choice answers.](https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/image_dd3fe8.png?strip=all&w=960)
![Screenshot of a game show question: Which Tony Award-winning musical features a mash-up called "Elephant Love Medley"? The options are Hairspray, The Book of Mormon, Moulin Rouge!, and Six.](https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/image_e0ee15.png?strip=all&w=960)
However, his journey was cut short after an unfortunate blunder on a seemingly easy musical question.
Anton was asked: “Which Tony Award-winning musical features a mash-up called ‘Elephant Love Medley’?”
Despite his experience in the entertainment industry, Anton answered The Book of Mormon – but the correct answer was Moulin Rouge.
The error meant he left with just £1,000 for his chosen charity, The Sick Children’s Trust.
Fans took to X, formerly Twitter, to express their frustration, with one writing: “The audience are absolute FOOLS and so is anton du beke . surely this is his wheelhouse ???”
Another added: “That mishap means Anton is only taking £1k for his charity, The Sick Children’s Trust. Ouch.”
Someone else said: “OH WHAT THE HELL?? Anton, that was quite a costly error.”
Host Jeremy Clarkson recently told the The Mirror he had been left stunned by Anton’s error too.
He said: “When that cropped up, I thought well ‘this was tailor made for you’ and then it wasn’t. It’s a bit like me not knowing a Nico Rosberg question.”
Anton wasn’t the only star playing for charity on the night.
First Dates maître d’ Fred Sirieix walked away with an impressive £64,000 for The Right Course, while Emmerdale actress Roxy Shahidi secured £16,000 for The Maggie Oliver Foundation.
The evening’s winnings totaled £81,000, bringing the series total so far to £355,000 raised for charity.
Jeremy admitted last week that the most nervous celeb on the current series is boxing champ and former I’m A Celebrity campmate Tony Bellew.
Speaking of Tony, he said: “I am not quite sure what emotion was going through him – nerves, rage, disappointment, acting, as I think he is a lot cleverer than he lets on.
“At one stage, he was having a class war with himself with the word ‘hobnob’.”
Other stars who will be seen across the show’s run include former Coronation Street star Julie Hesmondhalgh, BBC Breakfast host Louise Minchin, Dion Dublin, Steph McGovern and ITV News host Lucrezia Millirini.

Mum of tragic Brit lawyer Simone White, 28, who died after drinking methanol-laced shots in Laos reveals her final text
THE heartbroken mum of Laos methanol poison victim, Simone White, has revealed the haunting final text the Brit lawyer sent to her.
Six unsuspecting tourists were tragically killed after drinking the same laced shots at a hostel bar in Vang Vieng last November.

Simone, 28 was among the victims after she was rushed to hospital in a near paralytic state before being placed on life support for three days.
Her mum Sue took a hellish 16-hour journey from Kent to Laos after hearing of her daughter’s grave condition.
She said she feared Simone would die after being called by the hospital who told her she needed emergency brain surgery.
After arriving at Laos hospital Sue was given the devastating ultimatum over whether to leave her daughter on life support or not.
Doctors refused to switch off the machine due to their religion – but told Sue she could do it herself.
The distraught mum said she had to take a tube out of her dying daughter’s mouth before making the incredibly painful and “traumatic” decision to switch off the machine.
Simone’s official cause of death was confirmed as a bleed on the brain, an inquest heard.
Three months on from the tragic events, Sue has now revealed she was sent a text message from her daughter the day before the fatal shots were consumed.
Speaking on Australia’s 60 Minutes news show, Sue said the message read: “I’m having the best time, you know, it’s an absolutely fantastic holiday.”
The mum continued: “That’s the last message I got from her, and that was on the Tuesday, probably early evening Laos time – just before this incident occurred.
“She’d messaged me as it was all happening but that was the final message I got from her.”
On the same show, Simone’s close pal Bethany Clarke spoke about the harrowing evening when the countless shots were taken.
Bethany had met the lawyer in Southeast Asia to explore the country and miraculously survived the vodka poisoning.
Bethany says she remembers watching the bartender pour the toxic drinks but had no clue anything was wrong.
The friends woke up the next day feeling incredibly lethargic and only slightly ill, she said.
She told 60 Minutes she felt “not that bad, I didn’t think anything bad was going to happen”.
But now Bethany revealed that lethargy was a symptom of the methanol poisoning.
She said: “You just physically can’t move, you’re more or less paralysed.
“You can still walk but everything is much, much, much more difficult than it would be ordinarily.”

Their symptoms became worse and Bethany started feeling nauseous, incredibly fatigued, and she even fainted.
The pair were taken to hospital by other travellers, where Simone began to have seizures and could no longer breathe on her own.
Bethany has made a full recovery, despite drinking the same number of shots as Simone.
She said it has been difficult coming to terms that she survived while Simone died.
Bethany said: “I think we’ve just had to try and get through the funeral and obviously we want to try and spread awareness and make sure other people don’t have to go through this.
“And then I can sort of start on my own journey of trying to come to terms with it all.”
Eight employees at Nana Backpackers Hostel were arrested over the poisoning, but all were released from custody.
No charges have been laid for the six deaths and the hostel has been closed.
The hostel manager, Duong Duc Toan, and a bartender, Toan Van Vanng, previously denied allegations that methanol was in drinks.
Toan said he bought the alcohol from a licensed seller and said the free shots were given to 100 people.
The hostel manager claimed other guests had not reported being ill and he took a shot in front of cops.
One pal claimed staff refused to call an ambulance and a female worker massaged the toes and feet of one of the Danish women while she was having a seizure.
Danish friends Anne-Sofie Orkild Coyman, 20, and Freja Vennervald, 21, died after they were left vomiting blood for 13 hours.
Australian friends Bianca Jones and Holly Bowles, both 19, also died in the tragedy.
The alarm was raised by staff over their condition after the teens failed to check out on the morning of November 13.
Why is methanol so deadly?

METHANOL is a super-toxic version of alcohol that may be present in drinks if added by crooks to make them stronger or if they are brewed or distilled badly, writes The Sun's health correspondent Sam Blanchard.
The consequences can be devastating because as little as a single shot of contaminated booze could be deadly, with just 4ml of methanol potentially enough to cause blindness.
Prof Oliver Jones, a chemist at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, said: “The body converts methanol to formic acid.
“Formic acid blocks the action of an enzyme that is critical to how the body uses oxygen to generate energy.
“If it stops working, cells cannot take up or use oxygen from the blood and lack of oxygen causes problems in a range of organs as the cells start to die.
“Symptoms of methanol poisoning include vomiting, seizures and dizziness.
“The optic nerve seems to be particularly vulnerable to methanol toxicity, so there is the potential for temporary or permanent blindness, and even death.
“While thankfully rare, methanol poisoning is very serious, and treatment should be given at a hospital.”
An unexpected but key way of treating methanol poisoning is to get the patient drunk with normal alcohol – known as ethanol – to distract the liver and stop it processing the methanol.

How Arsenal spent ENTIRE Man City clash winding up Erling Haaland – from brutal celebrations to grabbing shorts
ERLING HAALAND might remember the day he reached 250 club goals in precisely the opposite way he’d like to.
Blame Arsenal for that, with a tireless display of winding-up the Manchester City striker that went far beyond their 5-1 victory.
![Erling Haaland and Gabriel in a post-match discussion.](https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/1363aa2d-e13a-47e0-9cef-d46f04e0b4c5.jpg?strip=all&w=960)

Such a dire loss was only the final insult for the 24-year-old, who won the Prem title and Golden Boot in his first two seasons at the Etihad.
Haaland‘s “Stay Humble” message for Gunners boss Mikel Arteta last September ignited discontent between certain players at both clubs.
And you didn’t have to read between the lines on Sunday to see who has taken the lead roles.
Arsenal centre-back Gabriel had gone into the match saying: “It’s a battle, a war”.
And judging by his efforts almost every time he came up against the Norwegian, it couldn’t have been more personal.
When Martin Odegaard rammed the Gunners in front after just two minutes, Gabriel roared with joy right in the face of Haaland.
Many viewers were impressed with the calm way the former Borussia Dortmund hero dealt with that – as he virtually ignored the Brazilian.
Myles Lewis-Skelly then showed that Arsenal believe you are never too young to goad the goal GOAT.
The 18-year-old curved in the third goal and sunk to the floor for what fans labelled a a “s***house” Haaland-style celebration.
The defender sat with his arms out and eyes closed – while he was lauded by team-mates standing around him.

Meanwhile, Gabriel continued his series of combative, niggly encounters with Haaland – sometimes appearing to push him away off the ball.
The two exchanged words at one moment, with the forward appearing to smile.
And Gabriel’s worst – or best moment, depending how you look at it, arrived when the Gunners were 4-1 up.
The 27-year-old was on the ground when he reached out to tug down at Haaland’s shorts.
Again the City man – this time quite literally – appeared to take the matter in his stride.
He briefly looked round to see what was happening but carried on walking away.
Unfortunately for Haaland, he could also be seeing the back of his third Prem crown in a row.
City, in fourth are now 15 points adrift of leaders Liverpool.
Some fans reacted to the Gunners merciless treatment of Haaland by telling him: “If you talk the talk you have to walk the walk.”
Another suggested: “The prem has missed something like this.”
And a third said: “As it should be. A defender should rattle strikers and that’s what big Gabby is doing.”
But others praised Haaland for appearing to keep his composure.
Sky Sports posted a clip of a string of incidents involving the 6ft 4ins ace and his man marker, adding the words: “It’s safe to say there was a bit of needle between Haaland and Gabriel today…”
But one fan posted: “Needle from Gabriel, yes. Haaland is an adult.”
However, the mature performance as a team came from Arsenal, with City gifting the Gunners their opener then collapsing in the last 34 minutes.

Jonnie died on 2 February 2024 aged just 50 following a battle with lung cancer.
The presenter had three young children with his widow Jessica Irwin.
Last year it was revealed how Jonnie had passed his entire £953,000 estate to his wife.
His final will was signed in October 2022.
Documents obtained by The Sun show the brave presenter had £956,967 in assets, reduced to £953,425 after deductions were taken.
The will was signed off by a probate court in Newcastle, where he moved from his native Leicestershire.
