‘This truly touched me’ – DWTS’ Arthur Gourounlian fights back tears as Joanna Donnelly performs emotional tribute dance
RTE Dancing With The Stars judge Arthur Gourounlian was moved to tears by Joanna Donnelly’s touching tribute to Pomegranate, a charity close to her heart.
Arthur has two children with his husband, Brian Dowling, who were delivered to them via surrogacy by Brian’s sister Aoife.

Tonight was dedication night on Dancing With The Stars, and RTÉ weatherwoman Joanna Donnelly dedicated her dance to the charity Pomegranate.
Pomegranate helps families to pay for fertility treatment.
For the dance, the 54-year-old performed an elegant Tango to the song Dreams by The Cranberries.
After finishing her dance, making her way over to the judges, Joanna was visibly emotional as she wiped her tears off her face.
Also moved by the performance was Arthur Gourounlian.
Joanna’s choice of charity is a cause very close to the heart of Arthur’s as both of his kids were delivered via surrogacy.
Fighting back tears, Arthur gushed: “Joanna, this truly touched me. Sorry, yeah, and I can still relate to this story; your passion for wanting to help and build families.
“I actually saw through your steps, the tango everything, you know, it was beautiful. I finally got told was beautiful…”
Arthur apologised as he tried his best to contain his tears, as the audience began to clap in a sign of support.
He continued: “You need to remember that everything is possible. Dreams can come true, and no matter what, you should never give up on your dreams. Keep believing and keep dreaming.”
The remainder of the judges were blown away by their performance and gave them glowing reviews.
Brian Redmond rejoiced: “I think you need to brace yourself just a little bit, because I have to say, I think that’s probably the best I’ve seen you dance…
“This is what it’s about. It’s about improving and progressing. And there’s no doubt about it, you are improving week on week level.”

Karen Byrne, also moved by the performance, assured Joanna that she did her dedication justice: “I’m sure Noah and all the families that you helped would be so proud of you tonight.
“Like Brian said, you are getting better every week, and that’s what the show is. It’s about progression, and after that dance, you should be very proud of yourself. It was beautiful.”
To round off the judges views, Lorraine Barry said: “I know that music is soft and that’s where that emotion comes out, but at the same time, the frustration sometimes of what people are going through, I would like to see a little bit more of that drama, just to add a little bit more to it, but saying that it was still a great dance for you. keep it up.”
Joanna finished tonight with her highest ever score from the judges receiving an impressive 24.
After hearing the judge’s critiques Joanna told viewers how much the charity means to her.
She explained: “For me, it was always important to use my voice to advocate for other people, and it’s very, very personal, intimate, silent struggle.
“People tend to not talk about it, and that’s their right to be private. But I wanted to give them the voice should they want to use it, and the access to the knowledge that there are so many more people that are going through that I loved the dance.
“I thought I was so touched that somebody could could find those movements and those steps and everything.”
Inside Aston Villa’s plan to revive Marcus Rashford with tough love – and clips of ex-Man Utd team-mate
WHY on Earth has Unai Emery taken a massive gamble to land damaged goods in the shape of Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford?
Because the Aston Villa boss loves bringing out the best in players and rehabilitating those who are seemingly lost causes.
![Marcus Rashford in Manchester United uniform.](https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/2024-manchester-uniteds-marcus-rashford-959488600.jpg?strip=all&w=960)

It is why Emery was so keen to target tainted forward Rashford.
And it is why he has also snapped up former Real Madrid star Marco Asensio, whose career was on a similar downward spiral at Paris Saint-Germain.
Bombed out at Manchester United after boss Ruben Amorim accused him of not training hard enough, Rashford has made a smart choice in joining Villa to work with Emery.
If the Spaniard could get the best out of madcap Colombian striker Jhon Duran, he surely stands a chance of changing Rashford’s fortunes.
Despite Duran’s public flirting with Chelsea and West Ham, his tantrums and timekeeping — regularly turning up late for training — Emery turned the petulant youngster from a raw £14.75m transfer punt into a £70m asset in the space of two years.
Talking about Villa’s interest in Chelsea star Joao Felix and attacker Asensio this week, Villa’s transfer chief Monchi revealed: “Emery has been able to recover players who were considered lost.
“If there is a coach in European or even world football who is characterised by recovering players and getting the most out of them, it’s Unai Emery.”

Emery also wanted to bring in Blues outcast Axel Disasi, but Chelsea have so far not wanted to do business with another club challenging for Europe.
The sale of Duran, 21, to Cristiano Ronaldo’s Saudi club Al-Nassr on Friday enabled Villa to afford the £400,000-a-week combined wages of Rashford and Asensio.
The challenge for the pair, Rashford in particular, will be to put in the effort that workaholic Emery demands.
As Villa skipper John McGinn put it: “We have to focus on football for 75 per cent of our life. You have to go to sleep thinking about football.”
If Rashford cannot get on board, United can forget about Emery triggering the £40m buyout clause for the forward.
Philippe Coutinho, the last fallen superstar signed by Villa, played for six months under Emery but did not show enough desire and was quickly shipped out on loan to Al-Duhail in Qatar — and has spent this season at Vasco da Gama in Brazil.
But those willing to graft have reaped the rewards of Emery’s intensity, with almost every Villa player having improved under the four-time Europa League winner.
Defender Ezri Konsa and striker Ollie Watkins are now regular England internationals while midfielder McGinn has his mojo back after looking a shadow of himself under former boss Steven Gerrard.
![Edison Cavani of Manchester United celebrating a goal.](https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/f934c34c-1baa-4dec-a09b-fd128be2d585.jpg?strip=all&w=582)
Lucas Digne, Youri Tielemans, Jacob Ramsey and Morgan Rogers have also been transformed at a club playing in the Champions League for the first time.
Rashford can expect the same tough love which took Watkins’ game to the next level.
Emery showed Watkins clips of the previous strikers he worked with, such as Carlos Bacca and Edinson Cavani, highlighting their movement between the posts.
He then showed him his own movement and pointed out he was wasting energy running into the channels.
Crucially, Emery also reminds players how good they are — but how much better they must be to meet his standards.
Rashford will spend hours in detailed analysis meetings, studying his own game and his opponents’ weaknesses.
He will also work on a one-to-one basis with individual player coach Rodri — the Spanish coach Watkins credits for his improvement.
Rashford will be sick of hearing Emery’s buzzwords — ‘consistency’ and ‘demanding’ — while Rodri will push him towards his gaffer’s gold standards.
There are no half measures under Emery; the United misfit will either shape up or ship out.

Parents racing to Crocs flash sale with sandals perfect for the summer holidays reduced to less than a tenner
PARENTS are rushing to snap up Crocs as the footwear brand currently has a discount on Amazon.
A bargain hunter shared how they had found the famous shoes down by around 75 per cent online.
![Pink Crocs kids' sandals.](https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/524f3a22-3a2b-47ed-8a81-f6a37582d2dd.jpg?strip=all&w=775)
Taking to the Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, they shared a screen shot of the Crocs deals they found.
On the Crocs storefront, they showed how they had spotted kids and infant Crocs that were reduced by around £30.
The shopper showed how their Girls Crocs were £9.85, down from £39.99 in size 12.
The shoes were a pretty pink colour, with two straps that looked perfect for warmer weather when it arrives.
The shopper wrote: “Great deal on amazon for croc sandals.
“Great for summer or holidays! “
And there were other colours and sizes to be snapped up in the sale.
Parents seemed impressed with the deal, and many snapped up some pairs for their own families.
One wrote: “Thank you, just ordered.”
Another added: “They’re a good deal.”
And a third commented: “These are brilliant for summer.”
Alternatively, the official Crocs website also has some of the pairs in their spring sale.
There are numerous styles discounted on the site, including some that are 65 per cent off.
Crocs has become one of the most popular shoes thanks to its unique combination of practicality and distinct design.
Lightweight, durable and comfortable, it’s perfect for the warmer months.

When the American shoe launched in the early 2000s, it initially sparked a huge frenzy with mixed views from shoppers on its design.
Founded by Andrew Reddyhoff, it was made to be a boat-friendly sandal that could also float on water and since then, it’s become synonymous with the outdoors and a comfy footwear staple.
The classic clog design is normally priced at about £45.
Meanwhile, fashion fans were left totally divided as Crocs announced a Shrek-inspired shoe.
Shrek Crocs divide fans

CROCS are perhaps the most divisive shoe on the market.
So it’s no wonder a collaboration of the original Croc with a Shrek-inspired twist has divided opinion amongst fashion fans.
The company announced a range of limited-edition Shrek clogs which will come in a green ogre hue – complete with fluffy, brown, adjustable straps and his iconic ears and nose.
Social media users were totally torn over the ogre-inspired shoes, with people rushing to platform X – formally Twitter – to share their very mixed responses.
“It’s like the shoes have genital warts,” wrote one.
And Crocs and McDonald’s dropped a limited edition collection in November 2023.
Meanwhile, a wedding guest sparked debate after the groom wore Crocs for the ceremony while the bride opted for a fancy gown.
And back in 2017, Balenciaga sent models down the runway wearing platform Crocs.

Erling Haaland’s dad trolls Arsenal with seven-word post after Man City ace was brutally trolled in Gunners celebrations
ERLING HAALAND’s dad hit back at brutal trolling from Arsenal with an even icier message.
Alf-Inge Haaland saw the Gunners milk a 5-1 win over Manchester City by copying his son’s goal celebrations and posting the picture afterwards.
![Arsenal players celebrating a goal.](https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/myles-lewis-skelly-arsenal-celebrates-968670248_51613b.jpg?strip=all&w=960)

Awkward, if not angry, feelings between the clubs have run high following a dramatic 2-2 Prem draw at the Etihad last September.
Haaland Junior struck first but City only rescued a point against the 10-man Gunners when John Stones scrambled an equaliser eight minutes into stoppage time.
The Norwegian hitman then inflamed a tense situation by telling Arsenal chief Mikel Arteta to “stay humble”.
Gunners defender Gabriel Magalhaes led the apparent animosity that followed.
He said, “It’s a battle, a war” and insisted: “It’s normal to have provocative acts in football, it’s part of the game.”
And simmering emotions were ratcheted up when Gabriel hailed Martin Odegaard‘s opener by rejoicing in Haaland’s face
The former Borussia Dortmund star then soared to equalise in the 55th minute.
Haaland chose to mark his goal coldly, with a look that bordered on a smirk.

But the Gunners then netted four times without reply – through Thomas Partey, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Kai Havertz and Ethan Nwaneri – to return second in the Prem.
And Lewis-Skelly, in particular, taunted Pep Guardiola’s men with the way he lauded his strike.
The left-back, 18, mimicked a Haaland celebration by sitting on the ground, as if meditating, while his team-mates looked down on him.
Defeat left champions City 15 points and three places behind leaders Liverpool.
And Arsenal’s media team responded to their side’s thumping victory by sharing a snap of a cross-legged Lewis-Skelly being mobbed.
The Gunners added the words: “This team” – along with a clenched fist.
Ex-Man City defender Haaland Senior quickly replied: ” «This Team» that wins everything. Ehhhhh, not” – followed by a blue heart.
That’s a reference to City winning six of the last Prem titles, whereas Arsena’s last silverware came when winning the FA Cup in 2020.
But fans were divided over whether Alf-Inge’s intervention was helpful for his son.
One observer posted: “Stay humble has gone crying to his dad I see.”

Another added: “Watch your boy, he is still eating humble pie.”
But some supporters appeared to back Haaland Senior as they mocked the Gunners’ announcement.
One said: “That result wins them the social media trophy until Newcastle bounce them out of the only competition they could win this season.
That’s because Arsenal visit Newcastle in Wednesday’s Carabao Cup semi-final, 2-0 down from the first leg.
And a few fans were positively delighted by Alf-Inge.
One wrote: “Spot on. More a***d about winning made-up social media battles than trophies.”

How Arsenal’s DJ brutally trolled Erling Haaland just seconds after Man City thrashed 5-1 at the Emirates Stadium
ARSENAL’S DJ savagely trolled Erling Haaland after Manchester City’s humuliating 5-1 loss at the Emirates.
The Gunners destroyed their Premier League rivals in a match that saw them getting some revenge after losing the title to City by a whisker the previous two seasons.
![Arsenal players celebrating a goal.](https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/thomas-partey-arsenal-celebrates-scoring-968668286.jpg?strip=all&w=960)

The North Londoners opened the scoring with Martin Odegaard after just two minutes but Man City equalised with Haaland, 24, in the second half.
Mikel Arteta‘s men then went on full blast as they thrashed the Citizens with goals by Thomas Partey, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Kai Havertz and Ethan Nwaneri.
This marked another embarrassing display for Pep Guardiola’s men, whose woeful season continues.
However, the Emirates’ DJ decided to pour some more salt in the visitors’ wounds.
And they targeted Haaland following his confrontation with Arteta in the two teams’ first Premier League meeting at the Etihad in September where they drew 2-2.
After a fiery clash in Manchester the star striker was heard telling the the Arsenal boss: “Stay humble, eh? Stay humble.”
That was after the Spanish tactician was fuming with John Stones’ last-gasp equaliser taking place after the allocated seven minutes of stoppage time.
Haaland also had a furious confrontation with Gabriel Jesus and Lewis-Skelly after his comments towards Arteta.

The Arsenal DJ never forgot and decided to poke some fun on the Norway international after the final whistle.
That is why Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Humble’ hit started echoing around the Emirates.
This was seen as a direct hit for Haaland after a miserable performance.
