MRS Brown never looked so sexy as she did tonight on the dancefloor on Dancing With The Stars.

The sitcom’s creator Brendan O’Carroll was watching from his home in Florida as Salome Chachua – pro partner of his son Danny – raised her legs higher in the air than ever seen in the hit BBC comedy.

The routine was part of Dedication Night, as Danny paid tribute to his dad with a cha-cha to She’s a Lady by Tom Jones from Mrs Brown’s Boys D’Movie.

Judge Karen Byrne told the pair: “Mrs Brown never looked so sexy! You could have gone down the full comedy route and you didn’t. The cha-cha itself had loads of content in it.”

Judge Loraine Barry said: “We have never seen Mrs Brown moving like that. You busted your gut out there to get the action. It was so entertaining. Well done!”

Danny and Salome scored a total of 31 points.

But it was Olympian Taekwondo athlete Jack Woolley who topped the scoreboard with 38 points and won top prize immunity in next week’s show dancing an American smooth to Grace by The Wolfe Tones.

Jack dedicated the dance to his pal, double gold medal-winning boxer Kellie Harrington, who was in the audience supporting him tonight.

Karen said: “You were like a feather, floating effortlessly around the room.”

Close behind Jack, in second place, was fellow Olympian Rhys McClenaghan with 33 points, who danced a jive in honour of his coach Luke Carson.

Luke guided Rhys to achieve his lifelong dream of winning a gold medal at the Paris Olympics last year.

Judge Arthur Gourounlian said: “You sprinkled a little bit of gold dust on the dancefloor.”

Meteorologist Joanna Donnelly danced a tango to Dreams by The Cranberries, having spoken openly about her struggles with fertility and her IVF journey in the past.

Her dance was dedicated to couples who struggled to afford IVF treatment.

Arthur said: “It truly touched me. I can relate to your story.”

Joanna scored 24 points.

Kin actress Yasmin Seky scored 29 points with a rumba and dedicated her dance to her youth club workers, Mary, Phil and Gary, who she said were the driving force behind her taking up a career in performing.

Loraine Barry said: “From one Cabra girl to another, well done.”

TV chef Kevin Dundon scored 22 points with a tango dedicated to his wife Catherine, dancing to the same song, David Bowie’s Let’s Dance.

Brian said: “I bet you never danced like that in clubs back in the 80s! Well done!”

‘BEAUTIFUL LIGHTNESS’

Former Miss Universe Ireland, Aishah Akorede spoke for the first time about the health condition, sickle cell disease, she has been battling through her life and paid tribute to her mum Kemi, who has been the biggest influence on her life.

Brian said: “You created a beautiful lightness.” Aishah scored 31 points.

Comedian Gearoid Farrelly danced a paso doble to Holding Out For a Hero by Bonnie Tyler in honour of his own heroes, his parents, Eamon and Deirdre.

Loraine said: “I really loved it. It really is amazing.”

Gearoid got 28 points.

Social media star Kayleigh Trappe landed 29 points and dedicated her dance to her four-year-old niece, Fiadh.

Loraine said: “You are the brave one tonight.”

RTE Room to Improve viewers were all left saying the same thing as a young couple faced major set-backs in their historic home renovation.

Architect Dermot Bannon returned to screens this month for the 16th season of the hit home transformation show.

Joined once again by quantity surveyor Claire Irwin, the series features builds of all different shapes and sizes, with varying budgets, grants and tight deadlines.

This season Claire and Dermot are faced with soaring costs on materials around the country and budgets being pushed.

In tonight’s episode, the pair travelled to North Strand in Dublin to meet couple, Cal Moran and Sean Hegarty.

The pair both feel they struck gold when they purchased their house on the North Strand 5 years ago.

They had already lived close to the area and really loved the locality and the people in the community, so were desperate to find somewhere nearby.

They said the minute they walked in and felt the homely nature of the house that this was what they wanted.

The garden was very important in their decision to buy the property as they needed space to keep their two fur babies, dogs Missy and Trixie!

Cal is a structural engineer and understands a thing or two about building and construction. Sean is a teacher and knows a thing or two about managing personalities!

In one of the most challenging builds that Room To Improve has ever seen, Dermot Bannon enters the equation.

While this house no doubt has charm and ‘good bones’, according to Dermot, the ceilings are tilting, the floors are bobbing and the door frames are something out of a children’s fairy tale – low!

Cal and Sean have ambitions for this house, big ambitions.

However, they don’t have a big budget, and with this in mind Dermot presents what he feels would work best for this two-storey over basement house.

The couple had a budget of €190,000 with grants to achieve their dreams of extending and renovating the near 100-year-old property.

BIG JOB

With that, they want to start by demolishing the back of the house and introduce a double height extension.

Dermot planned on turning the building into a two-bedroom home, instead of their already three-bedroom house.

And he wanted to introduce a living/dining area where the couple can socialise with friends for the first time ever, in what will be their brand new house.

Once the budget was agreed, the build began; immediately there were uncontrollable and unforeseen problems that threw everything up in the air.

SURPRISES

Old buildings often hide surprises, and not good ones.

Early on, it is discovered that water is coming up inside the foundations, in different areas of the house.

With no land-drain with the original build, this is nothing short of disastrous.

And for the Dublin-based couple, the home began to experience multiple setbacks as they had to re-evaluate their budget.

Always one for a challenge, Dermot pulled off their dream build by delivering their renovated home over their initial budget by€ 35,000.

RTE viewers took to social media to express their frustrations at the difficult build the couple were faced with.

Margaret said: “These guys, you’d have to root for them.”

Commenting on the series of set backs the couple faced, one viewer said: “They seem quite chilled. I’d be absolutely raging.”

Another viewer added: “Money pit comes to mind.”

Another viewer remarked: “Brilliant episode. I used to live not far from there. Trust the process.”

NEARLY half-a-million pounds has been paid to suspended and sacked cops in the shamed Met Police unit where monsters Wayne Couzens and David Carrick worked.

Twelve officers have been suspended and 11 sacked from the Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command since January 2020.

They got a ­combined £462,355.84 in ­salary but nothing was reclaimed after any dismissals.

Stats released under Freedom of Information show the most expensive year was 2023/2024, when £185,352.83 was paid out.

William Yarwood, of the TaxPayers’ Alliance, said: “Taxpayers will be shocked to see sacked and suspended police still receiving their salaries.

“As these costs continue to rise, more money will be taken away from budgets for frontline police officers to combat crime.

“The government needs to clamp down on this loophole.”

Sex beast Couzens got whole-life jail for kidnap, rape and murder.

Carrick, who was reported to police a day after Couzens was sentenced in October that year, was also jailed for life after admitting 28 rapes between 2002 and 2021.

“The MPS treats each occasion when an allegation is made about the conduct of its staff extremely seriously and will fully investigate each incident to determine whether the conduct of that member of staff has breached the standards of professional behaviour.

“Where the conduct of staff is proven to have fallen below the standards of behaviour expected, the MPS will take robust action to ensure that its staff are held to account and that lessons are learnt from each case.”

RTE Dancing With The Stars viewers were left “crying” after tonight’s emotional episode.

The hit RTE show returned tonight with nine celebrities all hoping to impress judges and viewers by performing emotional dances dedicated to special people in their lives.

Tonight was dedication week on Dancing With The Stars, which saw the celebrities dedicate their performances to the special people in their lives.

Also in a twist for this week, the couple who topped the leader board would be immune to next weeks elimination.

And first to prove their place for immunity was Olympic gold medal-winning gymnast, Rhys McClenaghan.

He danced a Jive to Gold Dust by DJ Fresh in honour of his coach Luke Carson.

Coming off of the first tens of the season last week, Rhys managed to charm the judges as he and Laura walked away with a modest total of 33.

Next up was Meteorologist Joanna Donnelly and her pro dancer, Maciej Zieba who danced a Tango to Dreams by The Cranberries.

Joanna nabbed her highest score of the season so far, and also left Arthur Gourounlian fighting back tears.

Joanna scored a 24.

Following Joanna’s emotional dance was Yasmin Seky, who honoured her local youth club in Cabra with a beautiful dance to Beyonce‘s Halo- receiving a 29.

Kevin Dudon took to the floor in a Tango, backed by David Bowie‘s Lets Dance.

Kevin’s performance was dedicated to his wife and bagged him his highest score of 22.

Former Miss Universe Ireland, Aishah Akorede and, her pro partner, Robert Rowiński honoured Aishah’s mother Kemi who has been a key pillar of support in her battle against Sickle Cell Disease.

‘EMOTIONAL’

They paid tribute to Aishah and her mother’s Nigerian heritage with an African-inspired Samba to Kese (Dance) by Wizkid – finishing with a 31.

With another family dedication, Gearoid Farrelly dance a Paso Doble to Holding Out For a Hero by Bonnie Tyler in honour of his own heroes, his parents, Eamon and Deirdre.

He received a 28.

Social media personality, Kayleigh Trappe, and her partner, Ervinas Merfeldas will dance a Contemporary Ballroom for her four-year-old niece, Fíadh to Brave by Sara Bareilles- finishing with a 29.

Bringing down the house was the penultiamte performance by Jack Woolly who chose to honour his hero, Kellie Harrington.

HIS HERO

Jack and Alex danced an American Smooth to Grace by The Wolfe Tones – a song which has become synonymous with Kellie.

Jack took home his personal highest score – and received two tens as he secured a 38 point total.

A score high enough to perpel him to the top of the leaderboard.

And it was clear the audience at home loved his performance equally as they voted him and Alex to be immune from facing elimination in next weeks Eurovision themed show.

Finishing off tonight’s show was Danny O’Carroll, a.k.a, Buster Brady, who paid tribute to his father, and the show creator, Brendan with a Mrs. Brown’s Boys inspired Cha-cha-cha to She’s a Lady by Tom Jones.

Danny walked off with a score of 31.

RTE viewers all took to social media to gush over the “emotional” show.

One viewer remarked: “A fantastic series, your contestants are very relatable, the professional dancers, costumes etc are brilliant.”
