Across the GR221 Serra de Tramuntana, a huge mountain range in Majorca, there are a number of hostels that you can book with some costing as little as €11 (£9) per night.

This type of accommodation is looked after by the Council of Majorca.

The hostels are some of the cheapest you’ll find across the country and don’t change their pricing, even in peak times, but they are no frills.

And it’s not just tourists that use the hostels – locals exploring the hiking trail have been known to stop in too because they’re so convenient.

In the hostel, they provide a bed in a dormitory style room, a hot shower, basic meals and a packed lunch for the following day.

Bedding isn’t included, but you can get this thrown in for a few extra euros.

There won’t be any way to have a lie-in either as every hostel has an early check out time, there’s also an 11pm curfew.

One stop called the ‘Refuge de Can Boi’ is found an on the outskirts of coastal village of Deia.

The rates are €11 per night with an extra €8.5 per meal and is the cheapest accommodation in Deia.

The hostel in Deia has a three and a half average rating on TripAdvisor with one saying they had no complaints about cleanliness and the beds were a “reasonable size”.

Another guest complimented the “caring and attentive” manager.

One visitor came back a second time adding that the “comfort is basic” and “if you come there to find a cheap all-inclusive hotel, move on”.

Another hostel, called the ‘Refuge de Pont Roma’ is on the outskirts of the northern village of Pollensa.

It has 38 beds across five dorms and rates start at €11. It’s a great place if you want to explore the village and have a look at the historic Roman Bridge.

One traveller described it as “simple” but that as a backpacker it has “everything you need”.

For anyone ditching their fly-and-flop holiday for a hiking trail, these pit stops are the perfect place to rest.

The hostels can be found in Deia, Port De Soller, Alaro, Lluc and Pollensa.

They do do book up quickly, so its advised to book in advance which you can do on the Majorca Council website.

Your old iPhone may be worth £655 as Apple’s full list of trade-in prices revealed for every single model

DON’T leave your old iPhone sitting in a drawer – it could be worth hundreds at your local Apple Store.

You need to check Apple’s official list of trade-in prices that reveal exactly how much your old iPhone could be worth.

The most valuable model for Apple trade-in right now is the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which is worth an estimated £655 at the top end[/caption]

If you’ve got a very premium model, it could go for as high as £655.

You can even trade in very old models, right back to 2017’s now-ancient iPhone 8. Theresa May had only been Prime Minister for just over a year when that came out.

When you do a trade-in at the Apple Store, you’ll be able to slash the value off the price of a new model (read our iPhone 16 review).

But you don’t actually need to go in: Apple also offers trade-ins from home if you prefer.

HOW TO TRADE-IN AT APPLE STORE

Before we get to the value of your old iPhone, it’s worth knowing how trade-ins work.

The simplest way is to just go to an Apple Store.

You’ll want to back up your iPhone first. You don’t need to fully reset it – Apple will help you do that. But you should unpair your Apple Watch if you have one.

Then just go to the Apple Store and speak to a Specialist will inspect it then give you a valuation on the spot.

If Apple says that it’s not worth anything, they’ll offer to recycle it for parts for free. You can reject this if you prefer.

When you go through with the trade-in, you can put that value towards another item.

But if you’re not ready to buy something, the value can be placed on an Apple Gift Card instead.

If you want to trade your old iPhone in online, it’s a slightly different process.

For online trade-ins, you’ll want to get a trade-in estimate.

Then choose a new product, add your trade-in device during the process, and then check out.

You’ll get a confirmation email that will explain how to back up your iPhone and prepare it for trade-in.

This will also explain how to return the device once you receive your mail-in kit from Apple.

The whole process usually takes about two to three weeks once you’ve mailed in or dropped off your old iPhone.

Your original payment method for your new iPhone will be credited once your old device is received – and its condition is verified.

RECYCLING INSTEAD? WHAT TO DO

If you want to get your old iPhone recycled because it's not worth anything, you'll need to get it ready first

You’ll want to back up your data by going into Settings > [Name] > iCloud > iCloud Backup.

Then totally wipe your device by going to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Erase All Content and Settings.

If you’re sending it in by post, Apple says you must follow these rules for safety:

  • Do not send loose batteries.
  • Discharge the unit to less than 30%.
  • Do not send electronics that are disassembled into parts.
  • Do not send electronics with swollen, damaged or defective batteries.
  • For whole units, surround the product with at least 6 centimetres of suitable filler material, such as recycled or reused packaging, before placing it inside a corrugated box.
  • Send only one device per box.

That’s because your iPhone contains a lithium-ion battery, which can pose safety risks if they’re not stored or transported properly.

If the condition of your iPhone isn’t exactly how you described it, you might get a revised value.

This could be lower than the original estimate. If that’s the case, you can either say yes or no.

If you reject the new offer, the trade-in will be cancelled and you’ll get your old iPhone back.

It’s also possible that your revised value is more than the original estimate – so you’ll end up with bonus credit.

And it is €80 cheaper than the real deal.

The air fryer has excellent benefits, such as creating healthy, low-fat alternatives to deep-fried food without losing flavour.

It cooks food like a traditional convection oven in a small machine with a window for you to view while cooking – and prevents heat loss once opening it to view it.

The digital touch screen lets you control the air fryer based on its temperature, timer and cooking presets.

It features 12 cooking functions: cooking, frying, toasting, roasting, reheating, deep frying, baking, grilling, rotisserie chicken, dehydrating, defrosting and blast cook.

It includes an extensive range of accessories, including two baking grid trays, an oil tray, a chicken rotisserie and a round rotating basket.

The air fryer’s capacity is 4.8 litres with a standard appliance interior.

It serves approximately 4-5 people, perfect for a large family.

For those who worry about the machine overheating, do not fret as it comes with overheating protection, meaning it is very unlikely for it to overheat.

The air fryer features a sleek design that can fit seamlessly into any kitchen decor – and it can be put away in the cupboard.

It also comes with a three-year guarantee.

Aldi Ireland’s air fryer is a dupe of Ninja Deluxe Air Fryer MAX PRO, priced at €129.99 – making the dupe version €80 cheaper.

However, the dupe version lacks capacity as the original offers 6.2 litres, which can fit up to four chicken breasts.

LIDL’S BARGAIN MOP

Elsewhere, Lidl Ireland fans are set to love their new addition that will help your home stay sparkling clean.

The Vileda Spray and Clean is priced at €19.99 and is set to be the biggest hit among its shoppers.

And the best thing is that no bucket is required for it, making it seamless and easy to clean your floors.

It comes with an adjustable spray mist, a removable water tank and two mop covers that can be easily washed.

The mop is very compact as the handle can be lowered down – and it’s suitable for all floors.

The spray mist helps make the home smell gorgeous, and you can add any floral essence to the water tank if you want to give your home a particular smell.

The pad is easy to add and remove from the brush – and it is machine washable, making it multi-use.

The bargain product is set to be available in stores nationwide from February 10.
