Who is The Apprentice 2024 star Tre Lowe?

TRE Lowe, AKA Paul Akabah, is a former dance musician and finalist on The Apprentice.

The star will be returning to the BBC reality show to help the new batch of contestants create a new pop anthem.

Becoming a star

Tre was born on January 1, 1975, and overcame a series of hardships at a young age.

Although he continues to suffer from tinnitus and derealisation, he recovered from double paralysis at the age of 15.

The star rocketed to fame when he founded the acclaimed band Architechs with his brother.

Originally, the group was a trio composed of Tre, Kevin Williams and Ashley Akabah.

They remixed songs by Usher, Justin Timberlake, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Beanie Man, but had their biggest hit with Body Groove in 2000.

Sadly, the group disbanded after Ashley passed away in Notting Hill, February 2, 2020, and Tre’s tinnitus became too severe to perform.

Speaking about his creative personality, Tre shared that he thinks he is really just a “super-geek”.

He said: “I have proven success.

“People think I am a cool dude.

“But underneath all of that, I am a super-geek.

“One of my dreams as a child was to be in those big red Britannica Encyclopaedia volumes, alongside the likes of Galileo, Newton, and Tesla.

“Total super nerd.

“Still cool though.”

Meeting Lord Sugar

Tre experienced a second wind in his career when he appeared on the BBC’s hit reality show The Apprentice in 2024.

The star had previously met Lord Sugar at a party in 2014, where he was pictured with the business mogul as well as X Factor judge Simon Cowell.

He made it to the interview week of the competition but was unable to convince Alan Sugar to invest in him.

Returning to The Apprentice

Tre will return to The Apprentice for its 2025 series to help the new batch of entrepreneurs create a new pop song.

The star took to Instagram to announce his return.

He said: “Buzzing for this episode! This time last year, I was in the boardroom as a contestant.

“Now I’m back mentoring the next wave of entrepreneurs, showing them how to craft a hit song and step up under pressure.

“What makes this moment even more special? Doing it in the year of the 25th anniversary of Body Groove, a track that changed everything for me.

“To come full circle, sharing my music knowledge and mentoring these candidates as they navigate the competition, is an absolute privilege.

“But this isn’t just about music, it’s about resilience, creativity, and stepping outside your comfort zone.

“Whether it’s crafting a song or building a business, success comes down to vision, execution, and belief.”

Tre will appear in the February 6, 2025, episode of The Apprentice.

Landmark European attraction to close this summer ahead of £297million revamp… and won’t reopen for five years

A MAJOR attraction in France is set to close later this year – and won’t reopen until 2030.

The Centre Pompidou, in Paris, is the largest modern art museum in Europe.

New exhibit spaces, cinema screens, roof terrace and restaurant will open by 2030[/caption]

As many as 3.5million tourists visit it a year, with it being a landmark attraction in the city along with The Louvre.

However, a five-year renovation is to start next year, meaning this is the last year tourists will be able to see it in a while.

It is estimated to cost €358million (£297million) – nearly €100million more than the French government first predicted.

The plans include a huge new area with two large cinema screens and exhibit spaces.

Both the museum and library are being fully refurbished as well.

A new restaurant will be built on-site, on the southside of the attraction.

Now, though, it is set to close for an extended period while the existing site is widened to make use of 20,000 sq ft bus park under the gallery piazza.

The new area will feature two large cinema areas and spaces for a range of new exhibitions.

The museum and library will both be fully refurbished, while a new restaurant will be opened on the south side of the complex.

A panoramic public viewing platform will open on the roof, offering “one of the most beautiful views of western Paris”,

Some of the closures are starting early – The Musée National d’Art Moderne, the permanent art collection and galleries is closing on March 10 along with the Bibliothèque Publique d’Information.

Other closures of exhibition spaces, bookshops and the shops will take place over the summer.

Progressive closure of exhibition areas, bookshop and store

The rest of the museum will close on September 22, after the final exhibition ends.

An official 2030 opening date is yet to be confirmed.

Art-fans can still see some of the exhibits, with some collections housed at other museums around the world.

This includes:

  • H’Art Museum, Amsterdam
  • Caixa, Barcelona and Madrid
  • KANAL Centre Pompidou, Brussels
  • Centre Pompidou, Malaga
  • Museum of Fine Arts, San Francisco
  • Centre Pompidou x New Jersey, Jersey City
  • Centre Pompidou x West Bund Museum Project, Shangai
  • Centre Pompidou Hanwha-Seoul, Korea

Centre Pompidou first opened in Paris in 1977, but hasn’t undergone any major renovations since the 1990s.

Also undergoing a huge renovation is The Louvre, with a €900million (£748million) revamp taking place until 2031.

When it reopens, new rules means Brits will pay more as non-EU citizens.

In the mean time, you can visit the Notre Dame, which reopened in December after a five years following the devastating fire.

Hated Man Utd owners the Glazers ‘pull out’ of hugely controversial bid to buy another sports team after fierce warning

THE GLAZERS have reportedly pulled out of their bid to buy a stake in the Manchester Originals.

The cricket side was auctioned on Monday and 71 per cent of it was taken over by the RPSG Group.

The group, who own the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL, became the first external investor to own most of a Hundred franchise.

The Daily Mail have claimed that the Glazers has expressed a keen interest.

However, it is stated that they were warned against a move by people working in the process.

The Glazers are already viewed as unpopular in the city for their reign of the Red Devils.

Since taking over the Old Trafford side in June 2005, supporters have often chanted in protest of their ownership for the previous two decades.

It is thought that the Glazers instead opted to move for a stake in the London Spirit.

The capital-based team was also up for auction but on Friday had 49 per cent bought by a Silicon Valley coalition for £145million.

The Orginals are now the highest-valued franchise outside of London following the purchase by RPSG.

The group, owned by billionaire businessman Sanjiv Goenka, bought 49 per cent before being offered another 21 per cent stake.

The offer came from the ground owners in Lancashire for £75m.

RPSG were also keen on a stake in the London Spirit but failed in the auction.

More Hundred franchises in Leeds, Nottingham and Southampton will be auctioned later this week.

Meet Man City signing Nico Gonzalez, who is son of Pep Guardiola’s former team-mate and could be £50m Rodri solution

PEP GUARDIOLA has turned to a familiar face in his bid to finally find his Rodri replacement at Manchester City.

The struggling champions were last night putting the finishing touches to a £50million deal for Porto midfielder Nico Gonzalez.

And he is the son of former Spain international Fran – who was named in the Euro 2000 squad alongside Pep.

City could have saved themselves a few quid as young Nico, now 23, came close to joining City soon after Guardiola arrived at the club back in 2016.

At the time his father Fran – who was a legend with Deportivo and played alongside Txiki Begiristain – was working with the Under 18s at the Etihad Campus.

A deal was lined up for young Nico – who was 14 at the time – to leave Barcelona’s La Masia and link up with City’s academy instead.

But the move never materialised and instead he spent more than a decade on the books at Barca – something which is sure to appeal to Guardiola.

He joined Valencia on loan in summer 2022 to gain some first team experience and a year later he won a permanent move to Porto.

At the time, the Catalan giants were keen to secure a buy-back option as part of the deal and they have a sell on clause so will receive a sizeable chunk of the fee.

Guardiola struggled to find a suitable back up for Ballon D’Or winner Rodri while the Spanish international was fit.

He sanctioned a £45million move for Kalvin Phillips but the England man struggled with fitness and form – and failed to win the trust of the manager.

Recently he had loan spells with West Ham and Ipswich and while he remains on City’s books it looks unlikely he will return.

Mateo Kovacic, Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva have all tried to play the number six role which Guardiola values so much – but none of them have been a perfect fit.

Rodri – who is currently sidelined with a cruciate knee ligament injury – is hopeful of returning before the end of the season.

But Pep said last week he will not rush him back and would rather give the former Atletico Madrid man a chance to fully heal.

Sri Lankan hostel where Brit, 24, stayed before mystery death ‘had just fumigated rooms with toxic bedbug chemicals’

COPS investigating the mystery death of a British woman in Sri Lanka are now probing whether chemical exposure at her hostel may have played a role.

The 24-year-old was staying at the Miracle Colombo City Hostel when she suddenly began “vomiting violently” and was rushed to hospital.

She was tragically pronounced dead shortly after her arrival at the Colombo General Hospital.

A German couple, who had been sharing a room with the unnamed Brit, also fell ill with similar symptoms, including severe vomiting and breathing difficulties.

They reportedly remain in hospital receiving treatment.

Investigators are now looking into whether food poisoning or another cause was behind the Brit’s sudden death, local outlet Hiru News reports.

One line of inquiry is the possible impact of chemical exposure, as the adjacent room at the hostel had reportedly been fumigated with phosphine – a highly toxic pesticide – on January 30.

Phosphine, a colorless and flammable gas, is commonly used to kill bedbugs but is also a potent respiratory toxin.

The room had reportedly been sealed for 72 hours following the treatment.

Authorities have since ordered the hostel to shut down pending a full investigation.

The closure will remain in place until experts determine whether the premises are safe to operate, police said.

Sri Lanka’s Government Analyst’s Department has launched an urgent investigation, and experts were meant to inspect the lodge yesterday.

Officials from the Ministry of Health and a judicial medical officer are also involved in the probe.

Police have taken food samples as part of their ongoing inquiry.

A post-mortem examination will be conducted once the victim’s relatives arrive to formally identify her remains.

A spokesperson for the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office said: “We are supporting the family of a British woman who has died in Sri Lanka and are in contact with the local authorities.”

The Sun has contacted Miracle Colombo City Hostel for more information.

The case comes just weeks after another British woman and her fiancé were allegedly fatally poisoned by methanol-laced limoncello at their Vietnam hotel.

Newly engaged couple Greta Marie Otteson, 33, and Arno Els Quinton, 36, had reportedly received two bottles of the “homemade” liqueur from a local restaurant on Christmas Eve.

Tragically, their bodies were discovered in separate rooms at the Hoi An Silverbell Villa two days later on Boxing Day — just three weeks after their engagement.

Police launched an urgent investigation and found empty bottles inside the villa, where the couple had been managing the property for 10 months.

Authorities now confirm the pair died from methanol poisoning after drinking contaminated alcohol, suspected to be the homemade limoncello they had purchased.

The tragedy follows a similar case in Laos five weeks earlier, when six people, including 28-year-old British lawyer Simone White, died after consuming tainted vodka shots at a hostel.
