The Simpsons fans dealt another huge blow just weeks after its Channel 4 axe as they mark the ‘end of an era’

THE Simpsons fans have been dealt another blow just weeks after it was axed from Channel 4.

The beloved animated sitcom was ditched from its 6:30pm slot on Channel 4 after 20 years.

The Simpsons: Tapped Out has had its servers shut down after 13 years

In a schedule shakeup, it’s been moved to sister channel E4 at the same time.

But in a further blow to fans, The Simpsons’ game has been discontinued for good.

Fans of The Simpsons: Tapped Out were told last September that the game would be shutting down in 2025.

After 13 years its servers were officially switched off on January 24th, marking the end of an era.

The game’s developers EA Games previously released a statement on its end.

They said: “We have made the difficult decision to sunset Tapped Out. In-app purchases have been disabled, and the game will be removed from the app stores on 31 October, 2024. You may continue playing until January 24th, 2025, at which point servers will be turned off and TSTO will not be accessible.

“The decision to end our 12-year journey is an emotional one. Together with our partners at The Simpsons and The Walt Disney company, we have delighted in bringing this game to you, the fans, and seeing how you’ve each built your own beloved versions of Springfield.

“It has been a remarkable journey, and we are grateful that we’ve been able to deliver 308 updates, 831 characters and including today’s final farewell 1,463 questlines.”

Reacting to its shutdown, one Simpsons fan said: “Goodbye The Simpsons Tapped Out. Played it pretty much every day since it launched in 2012. Gonna miss my version of Springfield that I spent so much time building.”

A second wrote: “I had this game on my phone longer than any other app ever released. Goodbye The Simpsons: Tapped Out.

“Goodbye old friend,” said a third devastated fan.

The Simpsons celebrated its 35th anniversary last month.

A whopping 36 seasons have been produced since its debut episode in 1990.

The Simpsons 'predictions' over the years which came true

1992 – SUPER BOWL: In an episode titled Lisa the Greek, the brainiest Simpson tells dad Homer that the Washington Redskins will win if she still loves her dad, and the Buffalo Bills will win if she no longer does. In the end, Washington wins. The episode aired a few days before the actual Super Bowl, correctly depicting the outcome.

1995 FACETIME: The episode Lisa’s Wedding predicted the technology down to the year it was announced – with a future scene set in 2010 showing a video call.

1998DISNEY CONGLOMERATE: In the episode When You Dish Upon a Star, Homer makes a comment about 20th Century Fox becoming a part of Disney Corporation. This became a reality 19 years later, in 2017.

2000 – DONALD TRUMP PRESIDENCY: The episode Bart to the Future features Lisa as US President. She’s seen talking to her staff about the “budget crunch” she inherited from former President Trump. Of course, businessman Donald Trump actually would become President 15 years after the episode aired.

2005 – CANADA’S MARIJUANA LEGALISATION:  In Midnight Rx, Homer, Ned, Apu, and Grampa Simpson visit Canada and find out that Marijuana is legal. This legalisation would later become a reality in 2018.

2008 – E-VOTING ISSUE: Treehouse of Horror XIX sees Homer attempting to vote for Barack Obama on an e-voting machine, but the machine instead registered the vote for election rival John McCain. Four years later, in the 2012 election, an issue with vote swapping occurring at electronic voting machines.

2010 – OLYMPICS PREDICTION: In Boy Meets Curl, Homer and Marge win Gold against Sweden who claims silver at the Olympics. Eight years later, the prediction proved accurate with Sweden’s curling team winning silver against the US Men’s team at the 2018 Winter Olympics.

2010 – NOBEL PRIZES: Milhouse predicts in Elementary School Musical that Finnish MIT economics professor, Bengt Holmstrom, and Dutch chemist, Ben Feringa, would win Nobel Prizes in their respective areas. This would ultimately come true in 2016.

2012 – LADY GAGA/SUPER BOWL: In the episode Lisa Goes Gaga, Lady Gaga flies over the audience while attached to cables. Five years later, the pop star performed at at the Halftime show and descended from the stadium’s roof as her massive entrance.

2024: DONALD TRUMP ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT: Following Donald Trump almost being assassinated in July 2024, Channel 4 pulled a repeat of an episode that originally aired in the 90s. The episode featured an active gunman could be seen on the roof of a building as a public gathering took place, similar to the staging at Trump’s rallies.

The Chase fans convinced star of ITV show is Bear on The Masked Singer after leaving panel baffled

VIEWERS of The Masked Singer believe they have worked out Bear’s true celebrity identity.

ITV’s wacky, guessing, gameshow returned to our screens at the start of the year and for the last month it’s had viewers pondering the show’s hidden celeb identities.

This week Bear found themselves in the sing off with Teeth[/caption]

We’ve seen a whole host of bizarre new characters like Spag Bol, Toad in the hole, Tattoo and Pegasus – who turned out to be Prue Leith.

This weekend saw a continuation of the Bake Off theme with Teeth being revealed as non-other than one time queen of the tent, Mel Giedroyc.

She had managed to completely fox the judging panel and hadn’t been brought up as a potential guess even once over the series.

Top of the Teeth guess list was Fearne Cotton, BBC Sport presenter Alex Scott and comedian Su Pollard.

Teeth was knocked out after being placed in the bottom two with fellow mystery celeb, Bear, and it’s their identity that’s now drawn the interest of fans online.

The furry forest dweller has confused viewers with his range of songs and singing styles.

One fan said: “Every time I think I know who Bear is, he sings with a different tone.. I’m so confused.”

Another was equally baffled but wanted Bear to win non the less: “Bear sounds like different people in every song he sings. I have no idea who Bear is. I want them to win.”

After a hilarious rendition of ‘You’ve got to pick a pocket or two’ from the musical Oliver in their first week, Bear has had people guessing.

One group think that the voice behind the fuzzy face may be non-other than the star of The Chase, Shaun Wallace.

An eagle eared viewer said: “Just gonna throw out Shaun Wallace as a rando guess for Bear.”

Another used his Chaser name from the ITV gameshow to put his name in the mix: “Dark destroyer from the chase as the bear? #MaskedSingerUK

Once the name out there others seemed to jump on the idea. On TikTok one viewer just said “Shaun Wallace The Chase” and got a flurry of replies like “I can hear this now!” and “Only heard the first few words and that was already my guess.”

Other top guesses include Richard Blackwood, but some fans have started to dissect the clues and have come up with another front runner – singer songwriter Example.

One sleuth broke things down on X: “Based on clues, I’m sticking with Example for Bear. “Craven” – he’s from Fulham. Kisses on the dressing room mirror: Changed The Way You Kissed Me?”

I married the wealthy 77-year-old grandad I started dating at 25 – everyone says I’m a golddigger but I signed a pre-nup

A COUPLE with a 43-year age gap shared the hate they receive over their relationship.

Imani Cupé, 34, has been with her now-husband Larry Scott, a 77-year-old accountant, for nearly a decade after meeting online.

Due to the huge difference in their ages, she has often been subjected to cruel assumptions that she has ulterior motives.

While she admitted that her lover “spoils” her, she insists that it is true love that keeps them together.

And the US-based couple seems to have put the rumours to rest once and for all after revealing they both signed a prenuptial agreement when tying the knot at the end of 2024.

“People assume I’m only with Larry for his money,” Imani, a part-time student and actor, told What’s The Jam.

“Some of the negative comments I’ve received online were along the lines of I’m ‘only using him for his money’ or ‘She’s really a lesbian and she’s just using him for his money.'”

However she revealed that she isn’t phased “at all” by the people who try to insinuate her relationship “isn’t genuine.”

“I find it humorous and I can understand why people would assume that – after all, he is much wealthier than I am,” she said.

“It’s just funny to me that people think that I would spend 10 years with someone and only be looking at the money.

“Larry has a wonderful heart and near perfect character, and that’s why I’m with him.

“If he was a billionaire and didn’t have the qualities he possesses, I would not be with him.

“However, it’s actually funny when people leave comments on my TikTok saying ‘Girl, I know your bills are paid’ because that is true – I never have to worry about the bills not being paid!”

But indeed, the pair signed a prenup prior to their 28 December nuptials.

“As far as the prenup goes, it was both of our ideas to have one without question,” Imani said.

“The main purpose is to protect both of our individual assets during the marriage and to ensure that if we ever decide to divorce, for whatever reason, we will both be protected.

What is a prenup?

A prenup is a legal contract signed prior to marriage, which outlines how a couple’s assets will be divided in the event of a divorce.

They are often used to protect each individual’s own finances.

It establishes the rights to property and and support in the event of death as well as divorce.

“Larry wanted to make sure I had my own lawyer too so that there were no discrepancies.

“Although divorce isn’t the plan, we still want to be smart and protected because you never know how life goes.”

The sensible pair rang the new year in as newlyweds, having shared a low-key wedding day with their closest loved ones a few days prior.

“We had a small ceremony at our house and his daughter got ordained online and married us,” Imani explained.

“Everything was very last minute, but it was everything I could’ve asked for and more.

“It was just Larry’s daughter and her husband and kids with us.

“One of his grandkids read a beautiful poem she found about marriage, after we read our vows.”

She explained that they ended the night with a champagne toast, cupcakes, and a family game.

“The next day we had a really nice dinner at an upscale steakhouse,” Imani said.

“We’re planning a big wedding reception to happen within the next six months so everyone can celebrate with us.”

I don’t feel like being married will put an end to the haters and trolls, they’re going to hate and troll whether we’re married or not.

Imani Cupé

The newlyweds are currently on holiday in Hong Kong and Thailand, and have a honeymoon in Santorini planned.

They have been together for nine years, after meeting on the eHarmony dating site, and became engaged in 2023.

“At the start of our relationship, we bonded heavily over travelling,” Imani said.

“I had just gotten my passport before I met him and he loves to travel and had quite a few things planned already.

“Within the first two months of us being together, he already planned our first trip to Hawaii and since then we’ve been to 20 different countries.”

Ahead of their wedding, Imani had said: “I’m really excited about marrying Larry.

“This feels like a once in a lifetime opportunity with the most special person I’ve ever known and will ever know.

“This is one the biggest commitments I’ve ever made and I know I’m making a good decision.

“I don’t feel like being married will put an end to the haters and trolls, they’re going to hate and troll whether we’re married or not.”

TalkTalk investigates ‘customer data breach’ after hacker puts private details for sale online

TALKTALK has launched an investigation into a third-party data breach, after a hacker allegedly put nearly 19million customers’ details for sale online.

A statement from a hacker known as “b0nd” claimed they were selling data obtained in a breach in January 2025.

In 2015, TalkTalk suffered a data breach where a 17-year-old hacker accessed the personal details of 160,000 customers[/caption]

“As the title says today we will list for sale a large data breach involving TalkTalk,” b0nd’s post on a hacker forum read.

“This breach took place January 2025 and affects 18,839,551 current and previous customers.”

In a statement, TalkTalk said that no billing or financial information was at risk.

“As part of our regular security monitoring, given our ongoing focus on protecting customers’ personal data, we were made aware of unexpected access to, and misuse of, one of our third-party supplier’s systems, however, no billing or financial information was stored on this system,” a TalkTalk spokesperson said.

“Our investigations are ongoing, however we can confirm that the number of potential customers referred to in certain online posts is wholly inaccurate and very significantly overstated.”

Although, the hacker claimed that customers’ names, emails, last-used IP address, business phone number and home phone number had been exposed.

TalkTalk is currently working with the third-party, believed to be subscription management platform CSG Ascendon.

Screenshots shared by the hacker suggest the data was possibly stolen from Ascendon, rather than directly from TalkTalk.

TalkTalk has historically used CSG Ascendon’s services.

In a statement, a CSG spokesperson told BleepingComputer: “On Jan. 21, 2025, CSG learned that an external party gained unauthorised access to a single provider’s data residing on a CSG platform.

“We have no evidence that CSG’s technologies and systems were compromised or that CSG was the cause of the unexpected access to the data.

“CSG provided immediate containment and is actively supporting our customer.”

In 2015, TalkTalk suffered a data breach where a 17-year-old hacker accessed the personal details of 160,000 customers.

The incident led to a £400,000 fine by the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

How to protect yourself from fraud

USE the following tips to protect yourself from fraudsters.

  • Keep your social media accounts private – Think twice before you your share details – in particular your full date of birth, address and contacts details – all of this information can be useful to fraudsters.
  • Deactivate and delete old social media profiles – Keep track of your digital footprint. If a profile was created 10 years ago, there may be personal information currently available for a fraudster to use that you’re are not aware of or you have forgotten about.
  • Password protect your devices– Keep passwords complex by picking three random words, such as roverducklemon and add or split them with symbols, numbers and capitals.
  • Install anti-virus software on your laptop and personal devices and keep it up to date – This will make it harder for fraudsters to access your data in the first place.
  • Take care on public Wi-Fi– Fraudsters can hack or mimic them. If you’re using one, avoid accessing sensitive apps, such as mobile banking.
  • Think about your offline information too – Always redirect your post when you move home and make sure your letter or mailbox is secure.

Cardiac Surgeon Reveals the Top 3 Supplements for Heart Health

The American Heart Association (AHA) predicts that at least 60 percent of U.S. adults will be affected by cardiovascular disease—conditions including coronary heart disease, heart failure, heart arrhythmias, high blood pressure, stroke, vascular disease, and congenital heart defects—by the year 2050.

"The landscape of cardiovascular disease in the U.S. is seeing the arrival of a near-perfect storm," said Dhruv S. Kazi, MD, vice chair of the AHA advisory writing group. "The last decade has seen a surge of cardiovascular risk factors such as uncontrolled high blood pressure, diabetes and obesity, each of which raises the risks of developing heart disease and stroke."

Of course, the most obvious way to lower your risk of cardiovascular disease is to eat a healthy, balanced diet and exercise regularly. But cardiac surgeon Jeremy London, MD, says a few specific supplements are also great for heart health. Read on for his three recommendations.

1. CoQ10

A close up of someone pouring CoQ10 supplement capsules into their hand

First up on London's list, which he shared in a recent TikTok video, is CoQ10, or Coenzyme Q10, a "powerful antioxidant."

"But more importantly, it is a cofactor for the production of ATP, which is the energy currency of our cells," he explains. "This improves the strength of the heart, as well as the overall efficiency of the heart function."

Backing up London's point is a 2022 meta-analysis published by the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.

As Best Life previously reported, the researchers reviewed nearly 900 randomized controlled trials to analyze the connection between micronutrients and heart disease risk. They concluded that three supplements reduced cardiovascular and diabetes risk, including CoQ10.

2. Omega-3s

Omega-3s, found in fish oil supplements, were also included in the 2022 study, and the AHA has recommended this for heart health for over 20 years.

"This is a power anti-inflammatory that can help control your lipid level and your overall cholesterol panel," London notes. "In addition, it can assist in maintaining a healthy blood pressure."

To get this nutrient from your diet, Cleveland Clinic explains that the two most essential forms of omega-3s your body needs are EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), both of which are found in fish like salmon, mackerel, sardines, and herring.

ALA (alpha-linolenic acid) is the form of omega-3 found in plants like chia seeds, flaxseed, walnuts, and edamame. However, a smaller amount of ALA converts to EPA and DHA in your body.

3. Magnesium

Finally, London recommends magnesium for heart health.

"Interestingly, this is the most common electrolyte deficiency that we see," he shares. "Magnesium helps control heart rate and heart rhythm, and because magnesium relaxes smooth muscle cells, it can help maintain a healthy blood pressure as well."

Again, science supports London's advice. A 2018 study published in the journal Nutrients found that magnesium was associated with a lower risk of heart disease.

Researchers attributed this to the "improved glucose and insulin metabolism and antihypertensive and anti-inflammatory properties" of the supplement, as Best Life previously wrote.

Some supplements should be avoided.

Before taking any new supplement, always speak with your healthcare provider. For example, CoQ10 supplements can interact with anticoagulant medications like Coumadin.

However, there are some supplements touted for their heart health benefits that are known to be risky.

Doctors previously told Best Life that red yeast rice containing monacolin K can interact with other medications, and garlic supplements can often exasperate the effects of blood thinners and blood pressure and cholesterol drugs.

‘He’s not really kicked on’ – Mark Selby shocked ‘full package’ snooker star still searching for first ranking title

He turned professional after that victory and went on to win the World Cup in 2015 alongside Yan Bingtao.

Zhou, 27, also finished as a runner-up in three ranking events and is world No32, but Selby thought his ability would have led him to even bigger heights.

Selby told The Metro: “Zhou Yuelong years ago when I watched him I thought for his age he had the complete game, an old head on young shoulders.

“He’s not really kicked on. I know he’s not 70-odd in the rankings, he’s still hovering around outside the 16, but I thought he’d do a lot better than what he’s done so far.

“I just thought he was the one who stood out, for me, and he’s not really kicked on. He’s still got time on his side though, and I’m sure he’ll do something at some stage.

“Especially with the other Chinese boys doing well, I think it pushes them on.”

It has been a successful year for Chinese players with three players winning ranking events.

Ding Junhui won the International Championship while Xiau Guodong and Lei Peifan claimed victory at the Wuhan Open and Scottish Open respectively.

Geordie Shore’s Chloe Ferry reveals plans to correct botched surgery after ‘mistakes’ left her battling depression

Illustration of a woman's face with prices for various cosmetic procedures.

CHLOE Ferry has revealed new plans to go under the knife to correct past cosmetic surgery in a brutally honest new post.

The Geordie Shore favourite, 29, has had a string of procedures since she first made her debut on the MTV show – including Brazilian Butt Lifts (BBL), boob jobs, nose jobs and liposuction.

Since 2015, she has had a nose job, eyebrow lift, veneers, Botox, tattooed eyebrows, dermal cheek fillers and regular lip fillers

However, in a new message posted on Instagram, Chloe has admitted it came from insecurities and left her struggling with depression and anxiety.

Saying she hopes to ‘educate’ her fans on the downfalls of cosmetic surgeries, Chloe has admitted she’s now in the process of getting some of her surgeries reversed.

She wrote: “I’m writing this post as I’d like to share with you all something personal to me that I have never publicly addressed. Something I don’t speak about as it was a sensitive topic which I found hard to openly discuss.

“Being put in to the public eye at 19 years old was very daunting, I was naive and vulnerable.

“I was ridiculed for my looks and my weight amongst numerous insults through social media and the press, which affected my mental health and confidence massively, the young woman I once loved being become self conscious looking for perfection.”

“With this attention came offers of cosmetic surgery which I thought would solve all my problems, give me back my spark and self love,” she continued.

“This wasn’t the case, I suffered more depression, anxiety as well as a physical discomfort. A decision made without understanding the pros and cons, a decision made on me hoping it would make me feel whole again.”

“After years of working on my inner self, I feel like I’ve grown and entered a new stage of my life where I want to be transparent with my followers and take you along in a journey to correct my previous work and educate you all on the harsh truth of what I have endured along for so long,” she revealed.

“I want young women and men to learn from my mistakes and have a better understanding of cosmetic surgery.

“I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for being very supportive it really means the world to me.”

Friends and fans of Chloe quickly flooded her comments with messages of support, with fellow Geordie Shore lass Sophie Kasaei writing: “U got this girly ❤❤

Celebs Go Dating star Anna Williamson added: “I am extremely proud of you. I know from our discussions during your time on CGD how emotive this topic is for you”

“Thank you for being so open and honest with everyone Chloe ❤ we love you!” wrote a fan.

Chloe Ferry - Cosmetic Procedure Timeline

As the star announces plans to reverse and correct her surgeries, here's just some of the procedures and cosmetic 'tweaks' she's had done since first appearing in the public eye.

  • 3x Nose Jobs

In 2023, she revealed she was getting her lip filler dissolved.

A second added: “Good for you. Your Outer layer never changes the inner self and you can tell you are a lovely person ❤ Be happy beautiful and you do you Boo xx”

Chloe has often shared her recovery process of her surgeries and procedures online in her bid to get an hourglass figure – from smaller ‘tweakments’ like lip filler through to nasty bruises on her bum as she recovered from lipo.

Joining Geordie Shore in 2015, when she was just 19 years old, she quickly shared she had started getting Botox, with her transformation clear for fans to see.

However, in 2023 she announced plans to get her lip fillers dissolved.
