In Carrigstown, Dearbhla enlisted Zoe to help with her kombucha stand at the gym.

While, Gar apologised to Fergal for not hearing him out but struggled to remain patient.

And Gar was also left hopeful when Dearbhla suggested they keep things casual.

Later, he discovered that Fergal encouraged Jacinta’s trolling of Dolores’ salon and fired him.

So, Steo advised Fergal to grow up and fight for his job.

Fergal then surprised Gar by owning up to his past mistakes and insisting he’s trying to be better and promised he’ll do whatever it takes to change.

Gar then decided to give him one last chance to prove himself, leading Fergal to makes a ham-fisted attempt at thanking Steo for his advice, but left him feeling rejected.

RTE viewers were quick to social media to express their differing views on Fergal getting fired and re-hired.

Pamela said: “Famous last words Fergal.”

Sinead wrote: “I have faith in you Fergal.”

One viewer remarked: “Wish I didn’t think this way but Fergal is getting treated unfairly.”

Another added: “I was just about to feel sorry for Fergal and then he decides to do something stupid.”

Elsewhere in the episode, Dolores met with her solicitor, Christine, to discuss her struggling businesses.

Elsewhere, Jacinta’s online trolling of the salon became the final straw for Dolores.

ONLINE TROLLS

With Dolores at breaking point, Sharon realised she must make amends with Jacinta.

And Georgie was touched when Sharon refused to let him take the rap for Jacinta’s trolling fiasco.

But, Sharon’s attempt to apologise to Jacinta backfired, leading to a furious Jacinta calling for Dolores to fire Sharon.

Elsewhere in Carrigstown, a proud Melanie refused Alex’s offer to lend her money while she was job searching.

CITY SLACKER

And Mondo inadvertently added to Melanie’s sense of rejection when he turned down her offer to be his plus one to a networking event.

But, Jess was grateful to Melanie for helping her out of a work jam.

It pleased a conniving Melanie to have Jess onside.

Meanwhile, in McCoy’s Gwen accused Sash of being jealous when she wouldn’t give her the night off work to see Mondo.

And Kira couldn’t resist digging at Gwen because she still loves Mondo and wants him back.

Jess was thrown when a satisfied Joan became more demanding, but Melanie was secretly pleased her plan was working.

Eventually, Mondo managed to charm Sash into giving Gwen the night off.

Kira told Orla her feelings about Mondo, but was over heard by Melanie – who saw it as a weakness she could exploit.

THERE’S been a major shift in RTE’s schedule this week as Ear To The Ground has been moved for a brand new documentary.

The national broadcaster has moved the show, now in its 32nd season, from its normal time slot on Thursday to make way for a documentary on a “once-in-a-century event”.

Powerless: The Storm That Shook Ireland is a new documentary reporting the impact of Storm Eowyn is set to air on RTE One and RTE Player.

This new new 30-minute documentary from the RTE Documentary Unit will tell of the storm’s catastrophic impact on communities and the resilience of the Irish people who faced it, less than two weeks after it made landfall.

With human interest stories and personal contributions from right across the country, the documentary will give voice to people suffering in the dark.

It will also reveal the storm’s devastating consequences and the lessons it holds for a changing world.

At the centre of this programme are personal stories and the lingering questions and concerns about the most significant weather event in living memory.

Viewers will hear from Angela Ducey and her family in North Cork who narrowly escaped tragedy when a 60ft tree crashed through their home.

As well as Rebecca and Andrew Corbett’s family in Bailieborough, Cavan who have endured over a week without power; Moyne Villa Football Club – the Galway Hub, which has become a crucial lifeline, providing warmth, food, and essential facilities to those affected by ongoing power outages, and Debbie Conroy from Balla, Co Mayo, who describes the emotional toll of life without power, as her family struggles to cope in the cold and darkness.

The show will air this Thursday at 7pm, taking up Ear to the Ground’s usual time slot.

Instead it will be moved by thirty minutes for this week only to 7.30pm.

In this week’s episode of Ear to the Ground, Stephen Rob will be in Co Down exploring a new way of managing the environmental impact of slurry.

Animal slurry is a valuable natural fertiliser for farmers, but the nutrients it contains—especially phosphorus—can cause significant environmental damage if not handled properly.

While Ella McSweeney will meet Tom, farmer from Limerick, who has a passion for rare breeds.

Tom and Ella will explore how being part of the National Parks and Wildlife Service Farm Plan Scheme contributes to preserving and promoting biodiversity on his farm.

And Darragh McCullough is also in Limerick, meeting some very special horses that are doing some very special work.

WORKING OUTDOORS

On a small farm, viewers will meet Eadaoin O’Connell, who always understood the benefit of working outdoors alongside her beloved horses.

Now she uses that insight, and just two acres of the 30-acre family farm, to provide those same experiences to people with social, learning or physical challenges.

Cash-strapped Barcelona ‘lose out on MILLIONS with contract blunder’ after Nico Gonzalez’s £50m transfer to Man City

CASH-STRAPPED Barcelona reportedly lost out on MILLIONS from Nico Gonzalez’s £50million Manchester City switch due to a contract blunder.

The Spanish midfielder, 23, completed a stunning deadline day move to the Etihad from Porto.

Before joining the Portuguese side in 2023, Gonzalez came through the ranks at Barcelona’s La Masia academy.

He made 37 appearances before being sold for £7million to Porto as Barca looked to combat their dire financial situation.

However, the Catalans made sure to include a clause that entitled them to 40 per cent of his next fee.

Despite that, ESPN claims Barcelona will now receive just 20 per cent of Gonzalez’s £50m.

That’s because before selling him to City, Porto snapped up half of Barcelona’s clause for only £2.5m.

It means instead of receiving £20m as part of Gonzalez’s move to City, Barca have banked just £10m.

Including Porto’s cheeky clause cash-in, it makes for a grand total of £12.5m — £7.5m less than the Spaniards were expecting to rake in.

Club chiefs are sure to be even more furious as their lack of money saw them potentially miss out on an even greater figure.

Barcelona made sure to also include a buy-back clause, worth £25m, in Gonzalez’s Porto move 18 months ago.

They could have — in theory — re-signed him for that figure before flogging him to City for £50m — making for a cool £25m profit.

But Porto’s earlier decision to pay £2.5m for Gonzalez’s sell-on clause saw that option also become invalid.

After joining City, the playmaker said: “This is the perfect opportunity for me at this stage of my career. I am 23 and I want to test myself in England. There’s no better club than Manchester City for me to do that.

“Look at the squad they have here … it’s unbelievable, full of world‑class players. There isn’t a footballer in the world who would not want to be part of this setup.

“I know the reputation Pep has and I cannot wait to work with him. In fact, I am honoured he wants me to play in his team. I am truly excited. I just want to meet my teammates, and the staff here and then I want to play in front of the City fans.”

Trump gives orders to ‘obliterate’ Iran if regime assassinates him after plot to kill Don on Oct 7 anniversary revealed

PRESIDENT Donald Trump has given his team strict instructions to completely obliterate Iran if they ever assassinate him.

The Republican, who has already survived several attempts on his life, decisively told reporters of the plan as he signed an executive order calling for his government to impose serious pressure on Tehran.

Trump, 78, responded to a question over what protocols would instantly be triggered should he be killed by an Iranian plot by saying there is already a plan set.

He said: “I’ve left instructions if they do it, they get obliterated, there wont be anything left.”

Federal authorities have been tracking Iranian threats against Trump and other US administration officials for years.

It was revealed in November, an Iranian agent had been charged with plotting to kill Trump in an assassination that would have shaken the world.

US prosecutors say the rogue state told ex-con Farhad Shakeri — said to be hiding in Tehran — to devise a seven-day plan to spy on and murder him.

Afghan national Shakeri came to the US as a child and served 14 years for a robbery before he was deported in 2008.

The US government said Shakeri is believed to be in Tehran, though he has spoken five times to the FBI over the phone.

In a complaint filed in New York – days after Trump beat Democrat Kamala Harris — prosecutors said an official in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard told Shakeri to devise a plan to eliminate the President elect.

They claim the planned hit was an attempt to take vengeance for a US drone strike ordered by Trump that killed Iranian general Qasem Soleimani, then said to be the world’s No1 terrorist, in 2020.

Prosecutors said Shakeri was originally told to carry out killings against Iranian targets in the US, before focusing on Trump alone.

He claims on October 7 — the anniversary of the terror attack in Israel by Iran-backed Hamas — he was told to focus just on Trump.

He was asked to come up with a plan to kill him in seven days, the indictment alleges.

According to prosecutors, Mr Shakeri told law enforcement that he did not intend to propose a scheme within the seven days, so the IRGC officials paused the plan.

Shakeri said the Iranian government told him it would be easier to try to kill Trump after the US elections because they believed he would lose, prosecutors said.
