Ana de Armas’ Eve Macarro will face the Baba Yaga himself, John Wick, in the upcoming spinoff movie, Ballerina. The actress spoke about her fight scenes with Keanu Reeves and how excited she was to reunite with him in the John Wick franchise.

The Oscar-nominated star has proven her acting chops in action films, but this time, she will be showing us what it’s like to fight someone invincible as the legendary assassin. We should be expecting about an hour of non-stop fight scenes.
Ana de Armas shares her experience working with Keanu Reeves on the set of Ballerina
The Ballerina trailer confirmed the confrontation between Ana de Armas’ character and Keanu Reeves’ John Wick. As seen in the clip, Macarro goes rogue as she hunts down the culprits behind her father’s death, with Wick coming after her.
While speaking with DiscussingFilm, de Armas shared her experience working with the Canadian actor. This is not the first time she made a movie with him as they were both in 2015’s Knock Knock, but starring in a massive franchise like John Wick was a different kind of experience.

“The fight with Keanu, I think, was one of my favorite things during the rehearsal process,” she said, revealing that it took them three days to wrap up that scene. The actress had a wonderful time sharing that special moment with Reeves as she admired him as an actor and as a friend. “It was great to be on set with him, doing this epic fight together,” the Cuban star added.

Their deadly conflict already looks amazing as both assassins try to take out each other. It looks like Wick will be getting in the way of Macarro completing her mission, so it’s exciting to see how she will stand up against him.
While Reeves’ character remains the deadliest killer in the franchise, Ballerina showed that Macarro is someone who should not be underestimated. Her training as an assassin looks just as rigorous as Wick’s experience.
Hopefully, de Armas and Reeves will have longer screen time dedicated to their fight scenes as fans evidently want to see more of Wick, especially after the ambiguous ending in the last film. It’s worth noting that Ballerina takes place between Chapter 3—Parabellum and Chapter 4.
Keanu Reeves’ John Wick will be heavily involved in Ballerina

In the past, many fans were concerned about Reeves’ possible brief cameo in Ballerina. It was believed that his presence in the spinoff movie was a decision to appease fans; however, in the trailer, we saw that he has a significant role in the story.
It doesn’t look like he will only have a short conversation with Macarro, but they will be doing some massive action sequences that would affect her mission. This is great news for those who wish to see Reeves play John Wick again.
From the World of John Wick: Ballerina hits theatres on June 6, 2025.
