6 cars that suffered the most recalls in the UK in 2024 including top-selling BMW – should YOU worry about your motor?
CARS have never been better – thanks to modern technology, years of trial and error, and enormous development budgets.
But every so often, even the biggest and best brands allow thousands of motors to roll off production lines with a hidden defect that’s then discovered and needs to be repaired or replaced.
According to Autocar, and with help from car-recalls.eu, 2024 saw 249 recalls to the Europe-wide Safety Gate system, across 256 models from 41 brands.
Using the data collected, they were able to identify the individual models that were recalled the most over the last 12 months.

EastEnders’ Cindy Beale finally works out who attacked her at Christmas – and it’s an old foe
EASTENDER’S Cindy Beale finally works out who attacked her at Christmas and it’s an old foe.
The long-running BBC One character was shockingly attacked on the Christmas Day special.
A whole list of suspects have been looked at as Cindy’s attacker[/caption] Finally, Cindy works out who her attacker is and it’s an old foe[/caption] Cindy discovers that Junior has stolen the shovel from The Vic pub[/caption]A whole list of suspects have been at the centre of attention as they might be the person behind the attempted murder.
On tonight’s episode, a terrified Cindy is convinced she’s discovered the guilty party!
Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) was feeling the pressure after she admitted she’d slept with her sister’s boyfriend Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier).
So she stays the night at her brother Junior Knight’s (Micah Balfour) apartment because she doesn’t feel safe at the The Vic.
In the morning, she gets a text from her father George Knight saying the shovel’s gone and she rushes out to help him.
However, outside the apartment, a neighbour stops her and says: ” She can hear her and Junior arguing through the walls.”
Gina explains that Junior slept with her mother and the woman tells Gina to follow her because she needs to see something.
Meanwhile, Cindy visits Junior who explains he has stolen the shovel from The Vic so that she can take it to the police and find out who tried to kill her.
He tells her that he is the only person she can trust and that she is wrong to blame any of his family and should be looking at the Beales.
Later, Cindy takes the shovel to the police and when she sees Kathy Beale and Lauren Branning she tells them that their days are numbered.
“As if being related to you would stop anyone trying to do you in says Kathy.
However, Gina visits Cindy afterwards and says: “I think I know who did it. I think I know who attacked you”
Gina then shows Cindy a video of Junior from the night of the attack which proves he was lying about where he was.
Cindy rushes back around to confront Junior but he denies any wrong doing and explains to her that as a jilted lover, he was just protecting himself from the police.

“Do you know what it doesn’t matter what you do to Ian, he’ll always be trailing after you like a little lost puppy.”
Cindy attempts to walk off but Kathy grabs her arm and Cindy screams: “Get your hands off me. Kathy.
“If you’ve left any evidence on that shovel the police are going to get you, that’s if I don’t get you first!”
As Cindy walks away, Junior appears and asks Cindy why she ran out on him.
A clearly upset Cindy replies: “She’s wanted me gone from the moment I got here. She even said herself, she wished she’d finished the job”
“Who Cindy?” asks Junior.
“Kathy! It’s Kathy who tried to kill me!” shouts Cindy.

Love Island bombshell Danielle Sellers set sights on new villa hunk – just hours after hideaway night with Curtis
LOVE Island bombshell Danielle Sellers’ head is turned by a different boy tonight after her night in the hideaway with Curtis Pritchard.
Having spent the evening away from the rest of the villa, Danielle reassures Ron Hall he’s not out of the picture.
Danielle Sellers was immediately drawn to Curtis Pritchard[/caption] Danielle also explores her connection with Ron Hall tonight[/caption]Chatting on the beanbags, she tells him: “I feel a little bad for you in that situation, as obviously I’m getting to know you as well.”
“I still want to get to know you; I don’t want you to think I’m all over that.”
Ron replies: “It’s right for you to get to know… whether it’s everyone, or whether you’ve narrowed it down to like me and Curtis. You need to do what’s best for you.”
It might be for the best as Ekin-Su Culculoglu was not happy about Curtis’s night in the hideaway.
Despite insisting that he was “closed off” with Ekin, he said he owed it to himself to get to know Danielle.
Elma Pazar revealed that Curtis had held hands with Danielle, which left Ekin panicking.
She pulled him for a chat and quizzed him on it, asking: “No hand touching in the morning?”
A confused Curtis replied: “No.”
Ekin explained: “Elma said it was like ‘your hand on her hand’.”
Curtis denied it and said: “They were asking if I was ‘closed off’ and I said ‘yeah’. I’m sorry you’re feeling upset, we had a chat, she’s a grounded nice person.”
A furious Ekin hit back: “I don’t give a f*** if the girl is a good, or a nice, or wonderful person. Or if you have compatibility, I don’t give a f***.”
Curtis tried to reassure her, saying: “My eyes are set on what we have.”
But an upset Ekin told him: “But why do I feel like that line has been crossed a little bit?”
Curtis responded: “Because Elma’s obviously come to you and said that we’ve touched hands.”
Will they be able to get back on track?

During the hour-long Loose Women spin-off, the pair will be encouraged to talk about their own experiences and opinions on a range of topics.
Together with experienced Loose Men Craig Doyle and Jordan Banjo, Pete and Danny are expected to chat about male body trends, anxiety, relationship issues and their own experiences with alcohol.
In a new video promo for the episode, Craig describes his co-star Danny as “a guy who can sing, who is jungle king”.
He says Pete is “a Strictly star with a heart of gold”.
Sally Shelford, Loose Women’s editor, has promised serious chat along with “some surprises” when the one-off show airs next week.
She said: “We’re delighted Danny and Pete will join Craig and Jordan for this episode, continuing Loose Men’s mission to kickstart the important conversations that will make a difference to those watching.
“Our panellists never shy away from the big issues and this episode is no exception, with some of the most important and honest discussions to date – and of course, some surprises, cheeky chat and lunchtime laughs throughout too!”
The lads will appear on Loose Men next Wednesday lunchtime.
Pete found fame in the ITVBe reality show The Only Way Is Essex, but became much more of a household name last year.
He competed in Strictly Come Dancing with professional dancer Jowita Przystal and they made it all the way to the semi-finals.
Danny, meanwhile, is famed for being one quarter of the pop band McFly and a judge on The Voice UK.
Last year, he was crowned the winner of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! after spending three weeks in the Australian jungle.
The first episode of Loose Men aired in November 2020.
It featured an all-male panel made up of Ronan Keating, Marvin Humes, Iain Stirling, and Roman Kemp.
The special aired to mark International Men’s Day and was the first time men had taken over Loose Women in its 21-year history.
Loose Men was such a hit that it has continued to air periodically, with stars including Vernon Kay, Jeff Brazier, Brian Conley, Mike Tindall and Johannes Radebe all appearing as panelists.

‘My lifespan is limited’ – Racing boss steps down immediately after cancer spreads to brain
RACING boss Joe Saumarez Smith admitted ‘my lifespan is limited’ as he stood down from his BHA role with immediate effect.
The chair of racing’s governing body said his cancer had sadly spread to his brain.
King Charles, Queen Camilla and Joe Saumarez Smith, the Chair of the BHA who has announced his immediate resignation after being told his cancer had spread[/caption]Smith said in a statement: “I am very disappointed to step down as Chair of the BHA board but now the cancer has spread to my brain and I have been told that my lifespan is pretty limited, I feel it would be very unfair on horseracing if I did not hand over the reins immediately.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed both being on the BHA board for over a decade and being Chair for nearly three years.
“It has been an immense privilege to have such a senior role in a sport I have loved since the age of eight.
“I did not want to stay on and make decisions that were potentially open to later challenge if questions were raised about whether the cancer had impaired my abilities.
“David Jones will do an excellent job in the interim and I think Lord Charles Allen will do a fantastic job with his highly impressive track record and enthusiasm for the sport.”
Acting Chief Executive of the BHA Brant Dunshea said: “It is a great sorrow to all of us that Joe has had to step down so suddenly because of his ill health.
“He has been an outstanding Chair and Board member of the BHA for more than a decade.
“But more than that, he has been a passionate, dedicated and powerful ambassador for the sport and British Racing owes him a huge debt.
“Having worked with Joe for more than a decade his wise counsel, personal support, and pure love of the sport will be deeply missed.”
More to follow.
