GARDAI have arrested three men after seizing 182kg of cocaine and 4kg of cannabis herb worth over a combined €12.8 million.
Cops from the Dublin Crime Response Team are conducting an intelligence-led operation in Mountmellick, Co Laois and a number of other locations this evening.
During the operation they took around 182kg of cocaine and 4kg of cannabis herb.
The estimated value of drugs seized is over €12.8 million.
Three men have been arrested and are currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at Garda stations in the Eastern Region.
Assistant Commissioner Paul Cleary, Dublin Metropolitan Region (DMR), said: “This intelligence-led operation conducted by the Dublin Crime Response Team (DCRT) has taken down the main supply network for cocaine and crack cocaine into West Dublin.
“This operation targeting the sourcing, preparation and distribution of substantial quantities of these illicit drugs, stopped them from entering our communities and is another significant blow to an Organised Criminal Group.
“Investigations are ongoing.”
It comes after a major operation was carried out at Dublin’s Mountjoy Prison following a weekend of mayhem in which an officer was sliced and another had a hot cup of tea thrown in his face.
The Irish Sun has learned that around 30 phones and 5,000 tablets were seized at the jail this week.
Officers also nabbed bags of crack cocaine, while weapons were also discovered.
Sources have also told how there has been heightened tensions at the prison over the weekend.
The most high-profile incident, which was revealed by the Irish Sun, saw one officer sliced from his lip to his chin.
The lag who carried out the attack is a dangerous criminal with almost 80 convictions whose behaviour has been extremely volatile behind bars.
But there have also been at least two further attacks on staff in Mountjoy, with one officer injured when he had a hot cup of tea thrown in his face. Another was assaulted in the same part of the lock-up.
In the ‘D’ division, inmates have been smashing lights and swinging brushes at staff.
One source said: “Tensions at the prison have been high in recent days.
“There is clearly a lot of drugs in circulation and this is leading to incidents, often violent.
“And it is prison officers who are at risk here in these situations.
“There was an operation in the prison on Monday to try and get on top of it. A large number of phones and drugs were seized.
“But it is clear that large amounts of contraband is flowing into this prison”.
It is suspected that much of the contraband is being delivered by drones in packages dubbed as ‘fireballs.’
This is where packages are set on fire and dropped on yard nets by drones to burn through into the grounds before they are collected by lags.
There were four drone drops in one day to Mountjoy recently.
The Irish Prison Service has been grappling with the issues of drone deliveries for a number of years.
LOVE Island bombshell Samie Elishi has made a surprise confession about her previous messages with Luca Bish.
The star walked into the South African abode in tonight’s episode and made it clear that she only had eyes for one boy.
During the ITV2 dating show, Samie admitted she fancied Luca but was quick to spill on her previous interactions with the star.
In a telling conversation, Samie admitted that Luca had previously tried to reach out to her in September with a series of cheeky DMs.
Confessing she was still “heartbroken” at the time, Samie opted to ignore Luca’s messages as she wasn’t focused on trying to find a connection with somebody else.
Having ignored the DMs, Samie then admitted that Luca deleted all the messages in a bid to wipe any evidence that he had reached out to her.
During a later conversation, Samie and Luca chatted where the missing messages were brought up.
Interestingly, Luca appeared to suggest it was Samie who reached out first as they laughed about the situation.
Samie said to him: “Sorry for ignoring your message.”
Luca replied: “What message? I ignored your first one.”
As the pair giggled, Samie said there “was no first message”.
Samie’s entrance into the villa appeared to put Luca’s head into a spin as he contemplated if he wanted to get to know the bombshell or stick with his current partner, Grace Jackson.
Ahead of her entering the villa, Samie confessed she would be heading straight for Luca.
When asked who she hopes to strike up a romance with, she replied: “Luca,” adding, “I feel like he’s very much a bit of me looks wise and watching him on this series, I like that he’s in touch with his emotional side.”
She went on: “He’s been the voice of reason throughout the whole Villa, I’m always saying ‘thank god someone said that…finally!’.”
Samie was then asked about how she would feel to step on Grace Jackson‘s toes – who Luca is coupled up with currently.
“Him and Grace look like they’re going fine, but you can’t believe everything you see,” Samie replied.
“The game is the game, this is what happens.
“If he does have a good thing with Grace and stays with her, then he wasn’t for me,” she said.
Love Island All Stars is back on TV for season 2.
Here we take you through the line-up of all the Islanders who are in the villa so far.
Bombshells
Each series brings with it a string of hot single bombshells making their epic entrance into the villa.
Here’s who has joined the villa so far:
LOVE Island’s Ronnie has threatened to ‘pull away’ from Harriett after her awkward confession.
Harriett Blackmore made a shocking confession during tonight’s Love Island: All Stars, which in turn left her beau Ronnie Vint backtracking on their romance.
Chuggs Wallis entered the villa tonight alongside Samie Elishi, with the hunky lad pulling Danielle, Tina and Harriett for chats.
When chatting to Harriett, who is currently coupled up with longtime on-and-off lover Ronnie, she made a stark confession to Chuggs.
Chatting to Chuggs, Harriett said how she is “really open”, leaving viewers at home gobsmacked.
This later got back to Casey Gorman via Chuggs, with Casey soon spilling the tea to Ronnie.
Ronnie didn’t seem to be bothered at first but as the conversation went on and Harriett said no one has walked in that she fancies, this bothers him.
Ronnie sees this as a confession that she is still waiting for someone to walk in who she fancies.
He then says to Casey it could make him “pull back” from Harriett, after having had time to mull things over.
Before Harriett’s confession about being “really open”, Ronnie had said that he was very much “in love”.
When new bombshell Samie Elishi spoke to the lads about who was closed off, Ronnie made the shocking admission.
When Samie asked to Ronnie if he was open to getting to know anyone new, he was quick to boast over how he was “in love” – implying that he was totally closed off with Harriett.
Harriett previously dated Ronnie Vint during her stint on the show last summer when they both appeared on Love Island for the very first time.
And ahead of her stint on All Stars as a bombshell last month, she revealed she was not looking for a second romance with her ex.
“[I want to] explore new connections… but I definitely need to have a conversation with Ronnie though, I think that’s important.
“I don’t know how I’m going to feel when I see him, I haven’t seen him in months, we last spoke in September.”

Bombshells
Each series brings with it a string of hot single bombshells making their epic entrance into the villa.
Here’s who has joined the villa so far:
But despite her saying she wouldn’t go back to Ronnie, she did.
When Harriett arrived in the villa as a bombshell, some fans had a theory that she and Ronnie never really ended their relationship.
Some fans have said they suspect that they are still together and appearing back on the show in order to rekindle, win and nab the £50,000 prize pot.
One person on X recently said: “No one can convince me that Ronnie and Harriet didn’t plan this ‘rekindling’ since last year.”
“Okay plot twist: what if Harriet and Ronnie never actually broke up and they both agreed to go on all Stars so they could win together?” asked a second.
A third person then penned: “Okay now I’m starting to think they aren’t actually broken up & they just said that to come back on the show & win.”
PREMIER LEAGUE chiefs remain convinced they have “the best referees in the world” — and insist that other countries AGREE.
As officials in Spain discussed going on strike in protest at abuse from fans and clubs, the Prem’s chief football officer claimed that top-flight whistlers are better than they have ever been.
Tony Scholes said: “One of our main targets is to have the best match officials in the world — and we do.
“We have ten officials on the Fifa list and two of them — Michael Oliver and Anthony Taylor — are in the top ten in the world according to Fifa.
“Other leagues around the world look up to the officials and VAR process in this country as a model they would like to follow.
“That’s the message we get from people around the world.”
But Oliver and Taylor have been at the centre of major controversies this season.
Oliver red-carded Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly for ‘serious foul play’ at Wolves last month but the player’s three-match ban was overturned on appeal.
He was also the VAR who advised ref David Coote to review an injury-time incident when West Ham beat Manchester United after being awarded a late penalty — that ultimately led to Old Trafford boss Erik ten Hag’s October sacking.
And Taylor giving Brighton a penalty against Arsenal last month when William Saliba ‘headed’ Joao Pedro led to Gunners fury.

Yet that West Ham spot-kick is one of only FOUR mistakes after a VAR intervention so far this season — according to the Prem’s key match incident panel, which including ex-players, managers and referees.
The panel also highlighted another nine incidents where the VAR should have intervened.
BOURNEMOUTH 1 NEWCASTLE 1
Dango Ouattara’s late ‘winner’ was wrongly chalked off for handball after being awarded on the field.
WEST HAM 2 MAN UTD 1
Hammers’ stoppage-time spot-kick winner came after Michael Oliver advised David Coote to review Matthijs de Ligt’s contact with Danny Ings.
EVERTON 0 BRENTFORD 0
Christian Norgaard should not have received a red card for ploughing into keeper Jordan Pickford.
NOTTM FOREST 3 SOUTHAMPTON 2
Nikola Milenkovic’s goal was ruled out for subjective offside against Chris Wood, but VAR should not have got involved.
That figure is markedly down from the total of 20 cock-ups at the same point of last season and 25 at the corresponding time in 2022-23.
Scholes added: “Nobody under-estimates the gigantic impact of any single error.
“They can cost a club points, managers their jobs, players their place in the team and have a huge impact on a game of such high stakes
“But, while there were four incorrect interventions, that means 66 correct ones while the total errors are down.”
