GERMAN wonderkid Nelson Weiper is on the radar of THREE Premier League clubs.
The 20-year-old Mainz ace is turning heads around Europe following his form and his performances at the Under-21 European Championships.
APNelson Weiper is on the transfer list of three Premier League clubs[/caption]
He appeared in six matches and netted four goals during the tournament in Slovakia, two behind Bayern Munich-linked team-mate Nick Woltemade.
His aerial prowess was on display against England in Saturday’s final, where he scored a great header in first-half injury time to get his nation back in the game.
But SunSport understands scouts from Tottenham, Brentford and West Ham are now closely monitoring Weiper.
All three think he could be a strong addition to their squad and are poised to move this summer.
Since debuting for Mainz in October 2022, Weiper has built a steady foundation, playing 37 times in the Bundesliga and scoring five goals, combining size, strength and smart movement.
His qualities as a target man, strong in the air, adept at hold-up play, capable of drop‑offs and linking with team-mates, mean he could be a perfect fit for the Premier League.
The player is likely cost around £12million, with Mainz expected to push for add-on clauses in any deal to ensure they receive more cash if he goes on to play for the senior national team.

Weiper is another one of Mainz’s young superstars, along with Brajan Gruda, who recently moved to Brighton for £30m last summer, making 21 league appearances for the Seagulls.
He was untouchable in the youth leagues in Germany and has been rewarded with minutes in the Bundesliga.
SkyGermany reported last month how several clubs have been monitoring Weiper.
The striker reportedly caught the eye of Cesc Fabregas’ Serie A side Como, who are weighing up a potential bid.
A clause in Weiper’s contract would enable Mainz to extend the player’s contract until 2026.
And it’s believed Die Nullfünfer’s boss, Christian Heidel, doesn’t want to sell the youngster and would prefer to keep him.

AN EMMERDALE star has made a shock return – months after mysteriously disappearing.
Viewers were confused when cleaner Lydia Dingle failed to make her own birthday party earlier this year after suddenly leaving the village without notice.
ITVLydia Dingle returned to the village today in a shock development[/caption]
ITVThe cleaner hasn’t been seen for months on screen[/caption]
She was last seen on screen in March but even that was a one-off from her unannounced exit in February.
But in today’s episode actress Karen Blick made her long-awaited and surprise return as Lydia.
And she’s explained why she was gone.
Walking into the cafe she ran into Joe Tate who made a crack about dusting to which Lydia swiftly shut him down.
And then reuniting with her friend Kim Tate, the pair slid into old habits.
Kim revealed to viewers that Lydia had been away caring for her mother who had fallen ill apparently.
Lydia told her: “Well, she’s back to bossing me about and giving me the running commentary on every last twinge.”
And she revealed that she wouldn’t be back permanently – but leaving again on and off for her caring duties.
“I’ll be to-ing and fro-ing a bit, but she’s definitely on the mend,” she added.
And Lydia wasted no time in working out that Kim was hiding a new man – and demanded the gossip immediately.
With Lydia back, Kim’s new man will take centre stage as the mystery of who he is deepens.
But will Lydia be the one to work out who exactly is wooing multi-millionaire schemer Kim?

HEAVYWEIGHT boxer Tyson Fury has an eye-watering £162million in cash and investments in his firm.
That’s up from the £82m Tyson Fury Ltd was worth in 2023 – but he paid himself just £100,000.

GettyEx-world heavyweight champ Fury lost his unbeaten record when Oleksandr Usyk twice defeated the Brit in blockbuster bouts last year[/caption]
The firm holds £186m in cash and assets but has debts to pay totalling £28m for the 12 months to the end of September last year
And the books also show he helped himself to a dividend of just £100,000 from his monster reserves – a pay cut of £50,000 from 2023.
The Morecambe man stepped up his career at the start of the decade by twice beating Deontay Wilder in world title fights, having drawn with the explosive American in their thrilling first fight back in 2018.
Then last year Fury finally fought Oleksandr Usyk – twice – with the unbeaten Ukrainian winning both epic contests.
The first bout, a highly anticipated heavyweight title unification bout, took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on May 18 and resulted in a split decision victory for Usyk.

Fury subsequently announced his retirement from boxing on January 13, 2025, following the two defeats, but fans are hopeful he will return to the ring.
The firm takes in cash from his boxing activities and a separate outfit handles cash from sales of his merchandise.
Sports Business outlet Sportico named Tyson, 36, as the third highest-paid athlete of the last year, earning over £100 million for his two iconic clashes with Usyk and making an extra £5 million in endorsements.
Only two sports stars earned more money than Fury in 2024, those being superstar Cristiano Ronaldo at £190million, and Basketball phenom Steph Curry at £112million.

ALDI Ireland bosses have confirmed a popular store will remain closed for the fourth day in a row.
The budget supermarket, located on the Dublin Road in Cavan, was forced to shut on Thursday.
The Aldi store in Cavan remains closedGoogle Maps
Staff took to social media to apologise and warn shoppers of the closure due to “ongoing technical issues”.
The busy store is usually open from 8am to 10pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 9pm on Sundays.
The retailer had hopes of reopening the shop today but the issue has not been resolved.
The supermarket giant shared the customer notice on their social media channels.
They said: “Unfortunately our Cavan, Dublin Road store will remain closed again today, Monday due to an ongoing technical issue.
“We apologise to our customers for the inconvenience, and look forward to welcoming them back in-store very soon.”
Shoppers took to the comments to share their thoughts.
One person said: “Surely something in the middle aisle will fix it?”
Another joked: “They have duck tape in this week, surely that would do it.”
Meanwhile, Aldi Ireland chiefs announced a €5 million investment in green energy solutions.
Solar panel installations will be added to 22 selected stores, with an additional 22 stores scheduled for installation in 2026.
Sustainability Manager at Aldi Ireland, Rachel Nugent, said: “At ALDI, we are committed to continually investing in green solutions that improve energy efficiency and reduce our environmental impact.
“We’re excited to launch this solar retrofit programme, beginning with 22 stores in 2025 and continuing with even more in 2026.”
Teaming up with Greenvolt Next Ireland, the retailer will have 288 solar panels.
They are expected to generate an average of 100,000 kWh annually; the equivalent of powering a washing machine for over 1,000 cycles, which covers approximately 30 per cent of each store’s electricity consumption.
CEO at Greenvolt Next Ireland, Owen Power, said: “Major retailers like Aldi have a quick and easy route to adopting renewable energy.
“With their large flat roof spaces, installing solar panels is straightforward, doesn’t interfere with daily operations, and requires low maintenance.
“It is fantastic that Aldi is seizing the benefits of solar to meet its climate goals, as well as reduce energy costs and reliance on the grid.
“We are thrilled to be Aldi’s chosen delivery partner in harnessing solar power.”
THE HISTORY OF ALDI
The German discount supermarket chain came to Ireland in 1999.
Aldi’s first few shops opened in November 1999, with locations in Sandyford, Dublin, and Ballincollig, Cork.
By the mid-2000s, Aldi bosses had opened numerous stores, focusing on providing high-quality products at low prices.
As the recession hit 2008-2012, Aldi’s popularity grew as consumers became more price-conscious.
The supermarket giant continued it’s expansion in Ireland between 2013-2018, while refurbishing existing stores.
By 2018, Aldi had over 130 shops throughout the country.
The chain began to focus on expanding its range of Irish-made products and supporting local producers.
In 2023, Aldi had over 140 stores in Ireland.
The store invested in sustainability initiatives, such as reducing plastic packaging and increasing the availability of organic and eco-friendly products.
Aldi chiefs said: “At Aldi we are committed to supporting Irish suppliers. Developed in partnership with Bord Bia, Grow with Aldi is designed to help the very best Irish suppliers develop their brand.
“To date, we’ve invested €10 million in our Grow with Aldi development programme in a bid to find the very best Irish suppliers.
“As a result, for a limited time only there are over 47 new products, from 27 Irish suppliers available in store.”
Aldi have introduced technological advancements with self-checkout systems and contactless payment options.

GAMERS are losing yet another EA game today, as the developer continues its 14-strong sweep of closures.
Madden NFL 21 is to close for good on 30 June – meaning online multiplayer features will no longer be accessible.
EAMadden NFL 21 shut down on 30 June[/caption]
From today, gamers will find that some of the game’s achievements and trophies are impossible to unlock.
Players will no longer be able to earn Head-to-Head (win a Head to Head game in an online league) and Bragging Rights (win the Super Bowl in an online league), according to GameRant.
So if you haven’t yet earned 100 per cent in the game by 30 June, you unfortunately never will.
While it wasn’t the most popular Madden NFL title, the players still making progress with the game will have to opt for something newer.
Although, it is not advised you hop to Madden NFL 22, as EA plans to shut down the successor in October 2025.
EA has announced plans to shutdown 14 games this year.
The vast majority of the closures are already complete – including today’s loss of Madden NFL 21.
But here’s the full list:
Rory McIlroy PGA Tour – January 16
The Simpsons: Tapped Out – January 24
Blood & Glory Immortals – January 29
Contract Killer: Sniper – January 29
Deer Hunter Classic – January 29
Dino Hunter: Deadly Shores – January 29
Eternity Warriors 4 – January 29
Frontline Commando 2 – January 29
Frontline Commando: D-Day – January 29
UFC 3 – February 17
EA Sports UFC Mobile 2 – March 13
NCAA 14 – March 13
Madden NFL 21 – June 30
Madden NFL 22 – October 20
Some of the titles that have shut down in 2025 are now either completely inaccessible, or have only lost their online multiplayer functionality.
Madden NFL 22 will have its online features blocked later this year.
Fortunately, a new Madden NFL game will be released this summer – following on from those also released in 2023, 2024, and 2025.

SHE made history as the first girl to enter the Love Island villa with a disability – and was lauded for her down to earth approach, natural beauty and inspiring story.
But just a year on from the show, and Patsy Field, 30, decided to undergo surgery in a bid to make herself feel ‘pretty’ again after having her confidence stripped from her while on telly.
Love Island star Patsy Field flew to Turkey for cat eye surgeryStraight after the op Patsy thought ‘What have I done?’The 30-year-old is now delighted with how her eyes look
Patsy, who has Erb’s Palsy, a condition that means one of her arms is shorter than the other and has less function, jetted to Turkey alone to undergo a cat eye facelift.
When she awoke alone in her hotel room, Patsy was horrified by her appearance and couldn’t look in the mirror for days.
Revealing the results of her surgery for the first time, she tells us: “I came back around, and I was in Turkey on my own, pain, just a bit scared, thinking like, ‘What have I done?’ initially.
“My eyes were like two pink golf balls with just a tiny little slit out to see, and that’s when I thought, oh, I’ve messed up here.
“I caught a glimpse of myself in the TV in the hospital room that I was in, and I, like, was scared.”
Explaining her decision behind the op, which saw her put to sleep, Patsy admits that being on telly and now being online so much has had its impact on her.
She says: “I just wanted to feel prettier in myself and I felt that this would change my face in a way. I’m happy with it, but I think also coming off the show if you want to be an influencer or you want to give it a go you’re constantly taking videos and pictures of yourself.
“So I’m constantly looking at pictures and thinking all that could I look a bit old or I look a bit this and that’s kind of what egged me on to do it.”
Straight-talking Patsy admits it was a ‘gifted procedure’, telling us: “I’m not sure if I would have gone ahead with it if it wasn’t.
“But I have always, for years and years, had just an insecurity about my eyes. They just turn more down than they did almond-shaped, and I think having almond-shaped eyes is one thing that a lot of girls want, and it’s something that I had wanted.”
Before appearing on Love Island, Patsy had threads done but says they dropped within just a day.
Since being in the villa, Patsy has been offered a number of free cosmetic procedures, before finally settling on a clinic in Turkey.
After a few days Patsy felt brave enough to leave her hotel room, but found it too hard with people staring at her.
She’s now concerned about how people online will react, telling us: “I know that people are going to have an opinion and that’s fine, they’re allowed to have an opinion.

RexShe appeared on Love Island last year but failed to find love[/caption]
Patsy has shown off her new look – just two weeks after her surgery
“I am almost 31, like, you know, I can make my own decisions and I think I wouldn’t recommend this and I won’t be recommending it to any like young people who follow me or young fans of Love Island.”
Patsy burst onto our screens last summer and initially coupled up with Ayo before being picked by Munveer.
But after just a few days they were voted out by their fellow Islanders.
Despite being on screen for just 10 days, Patsy made an impact – as she discussed having Erb’s Palsy.
What is Erb's Palsy?
The NHS says that the condition stems from a difficult birth, when the baby’s head or arm is pulled during delivery.
This can damage nerves responsible for the movement and feeling to the arms.
In turn this can result in partial or full paralysis, depending on the level of damage caused.
Some 80-90 percent of children do fully recover, but it is entirely dependant on the amount of damage sustained.
The birth defect occurred after Patsy was delivered naturally rather than via Caesarean section.
She says that going on the show has helped her confidence grow in terms of her disability but has had a negative impact elsewhere.
“My confidence in terms of my arm I think has got better,” she explains.
“My confidence in terms of other things maybe not – because you’re constantly compared to all these other girls who have been on and you know put next to them.
“So confidence in your looks can go down for some people and for me with my arm, it was such a positive reaction and not as many trolls as I thought coming off of it were on me about my arm. So my confidence I’d say has gone up in that sense.”
In general, Love Island wasn’t the fairytale experience she had been hoping for, admitting: “You have this vision in your head that it’s going to be the most amazing summer of your life.
“And I definitely thought in my head, oh, they’ve got someone for me.
I was going to meet my perfect match in there because they must have matched me up with someone.
RexPatsy has struggled with her confidence since doing Love Island[/caption]
“And so, going on and not having that experience, not staying for that long and not finding love with someone or finding a new connection, it can be just underwhelming and a bit of a letdown.”
Patsy quit her job in office administration to the show and has since struggled with a career path.
“Navigating what to do post Love Island has been a bit of a struggle,” she says.
She’s now planning a move to Australia and is hoping to find a normal 9-5.
And her love life? Patsy says it’s been a bit of disaster since the show.
She refuses to try Raya, preferring Hinge instead, saying: “I don’t think Love Island went that well because I don’t think my sort of boy is on Love Island or Raya. I need like a just a bloke from down the road who works on a building site.”
Patsy will no doubt be inundated with offers from Australian builders when she moves Down Unders and she tells us if all else fails there’s also Love Island Australia.
Whatever happens, we don’t think it will be the last we see of her.
Fox Eye Surgery - what is it, and which celebs have had it?
LOVE Island alum Patsy Field has revealed she's undergone fox eye surgery - but what is it?
The Fox Eye surgery trend sees supposedly invisible strings put in above the eyes to pull them upwards.
It uses biodegradable threads to surgically lift the eyes and the results can last anything from weeks up until a year.
Dr Omar Tillo – plastic surgeon and medical director at CREO Clinic – has warned about the additional risks of getting cosmetic procedures done abroad.
He said: “Sadly, the cosmetic surgery tourism industry is not above massaging the truth to lure patients to medical tourism hotspots, including Turkey, Poland or Thailand.
“Unscrupulous online marketing tactics are unregulated, meaning that the hundreds of positive reviews you see on consumer sites could be fake. What looks like a premium facility may really only be an illusion created by elaborate and aggressive marketing.
“Many medical tourists will forget about the return journey and the complications that can come with long-distance travel following a recent surgery.
“Flying within the same week of a cosmetic procedure can greatly increase the chances of blood clots, which could lead to deep vein thrombosis or a pulmonary embolism.”
