Police arrived at the address in Bude, Cornwall, at 1pm on June 29.

They were joined by paramedics who sadly pronounced the woman dead at the scene.

Police arrested a 65-year-old, “known” to the victim, in connection with the crime.

Detective Inspector Rob Smith, senior investigating officer, said: “We are currently carrying out enquiries to establish what happened in this very sad case.

“A cordon has been set up to allow for a thorough investigation of the scene to take place.

“It is believed that the man and the woman were known to each other.

“The community should be reassured that this is being treated as an isolated incident and at this time we are not seeking anyone else in connection to the death.

“There will be a heightened police presence in the area over the coming days as enquiries are ongoing, and I would encourage anyone, if you have any concerns, to contact officers from the local neighbourhood policing team.”

The Strictly star – who appeared on the show in 2018 – revealed he had been the victim of a mugging in the capital.

Taking to his Instagram Stories, Seann revealed: “My phone was stolen (yes out of my hand and yes, I live in London) a week or so ago and it is now in China if anyone happens to be passing by.”

He shared a picture of his phone’s location, which was in China.

Seann‘s time on Strictly eight years ago was marred by controversy.

He famously was embroiled in “kiss-gate” after he was videoed snogging his dance partner Katya Jones – despite the pair both being in relationship.

ANOTHER STRICTLY STAR MUGGED

It comes just days after Strictly’s Michelle Tsiakkas was left “traumatised” after also being mugged in London.

Pro dancer Michelle, 29, told her followers that the ordeal left her feeling “scared and helpless”.

The Strictly star – who joined the show three years ago – took to Instagram to share the terrifying incident.

Addressing her fans in a video, she said: “Hi guys, so I wanted to just make this video to let you know something that happened to me the other day in London.

“Now this was a couple of days ago and I’ve just about mentally recovered from that. It was quite traumatising on the day.

“It wasted my whole day and made me feel awful, scared, helpless and I don’t want the same to happen to you.

“My phone got stolen. My phone got stolen. I mean I see it happening all the time but it’s just one of those things that you just never think it’s gonna happen to you. and then it does.”

Recounting the story, Michelle said: “So it was early morning. I was on my way to the dentist in London.

“It was around Covent Garden so the streets were really quiet. I think I was just the only person around so maybe I was an easy target and I whipped out my phone to have a look at the directions to see where my dentist was.

“I was on the actual street of the dentist and what happens?
A man comes on a bike behind me, sweeps past me and grabs my phone.

“So he’s grabbed my phone. He’s on an electric bike and my heart just sank. I tried to I think like reach for it and that made me fall on my knees on the floor and graze my knee.

“I think my reflex was just to swear and then scream give me back my phone and clearly you know that didn’t work.

“He just left. He was wearing a mask so there was no way that I could have seen what he looked like and he was going really fast on that electric bike so there was no way on earth I could have caught up with him.

“Thankfully there were two really lovely and helpful women there and they’d seen that I was a bit distressed.”

Michelle captioned the video with: “Warning ⚠ This can happen to you in Central London.

“Be aware and be very careful. Phone theft is happening more and more and it seems like crime in the city is getting worse …

“Has something like this ever happened to you?”

Reunited indie group The Maccabees are joined by former Glastonbury headliner in ‘wonderful surprise’

REUNITED group The Maccabees celebrated their return to the Glastonbury stage with a surprise appearance from a festival legend.

The band initially split in 2016, but reformed this year and cemented their comeback by headlining the Park Stage at Worthy Farm on Sunday night.

An hour into their set, the band stepped things up for fans, and revellers with Florence Welch, the iconic lead singer of Florence and The Machine.

Florence is a Glastonbury regular, headlining on the main Pyramid stage back in 2015 and famed for songs including Shake It Off, You’ve Got The Love and Kiss With A Fist.

Together, the group performed track Love You Better, before Florence and The Machine‘s iconic crowdpleaser, Dog Days Are Over.

Florence declared: “Do we have any Maccabees super-fans in the audience? Because you definitely have one on stage.”

The Maccabees headline slot closed out The Park Stage after a massive weekend – with The Prodigy headlining The Other Stage and Olivia Rodrigo taking to the Pyramid Stage.

The weekend has proven to be filled with surprise collaborations – with Olivia Rodrigo bringing out The Cure’s Robert Smith during her headline slot.

Rod Stewart, who took the Legends slot on Sunday night, reunited with his Faces bandmate – Rolling Stones legend Ronnie Wood – as well as Simply Red’s Mick Hucknall and Lulu.

DJ Fatboy Slim also surprised fans by bringing out his son, Woody Cook for a performance, who he shares with Radio DJ Zoe Ball.

Glastonbury made sure fans knew this weekend would be one full of surprises when Lorde kicked off the festival on Friday with a surprise set – performing her entire new album, Virgin, on stage.

This was followed shortly afterwards by confirmation that Lewis Capaldi would be making his Glastonbury return on the Pyramid stage in the mysterious ‘Secret Set’ slot.

In honour of this, and in one of the more unexpected performances, fellow Scottish band Franz Ferdinand brought out “The Original Capaldi” for their hit Take Me Out – Doctor Who’s Peter Capaldi.

Pulp made their comeback to the festival – 30 years since they headlined – after being revealed as the mysterious Patchwork which had been marked for a key spot on the Pyramid stage on Saturday.

Haim also had a surprise set on Saturday evening on the Park Stage.

However, the festival was dogged with crowding issues, with major stages having to lock off access ahead of major sets.

On Saturday alone, this included Charli XCX’ s headline slot on the Other Stage, Scissor Sisters’ headline slot on the Woodsies Stage, and Kneecap’s performance on West Holts.

BBC’s Wimbledon pundit John McEnroe walked out as furious fight broke out in press room over ‘cheating’ storm

JOHN MCENROE once sparked a Wimbledon brawl by storming out of a post-match press conference.

The shocking incident occurred en route to his 1981 triumph at the All England Club.

McEnroe had just beaten Rod Frawley in the last four to set up a blockbuster final against Bjorn Borg.

The press room was packed full of journalists itching to quiz the American and there was chaos due to overcrowding.

McEnroe, 22 at the time, had already developed a reputation for being a fiery character with his on court outbursts.

And he furiously kicked off after being asked by The Mirror’s James Whittaker if he had split up with his tennis star girlfriend Stacey Margolin amid false rumours he had cheated.

McEnroe was used to ranting at line judges but this time launched an attack on the press before storming out the room.

Yet the drama had only just begun as the reporters then turned on each other.

Arguments erupted over whether the question was appropriate, with British journalists furiously debating their US counterparts.

But The Mirror’s Nigel Clarke and RKO Radio’s Charlie Steiner got physical as tempers flared.

Clarke jumped onto a chair and tried to punch Steiner.

There was then wrestling on the floor as colleagues had to separate them with papers and chairs flying.

Both were sent to the Wimbledon chairman’s office for a dressing down like naughty school boys.

Clarke and Steiner crossed paths 15 years later at a boxing event and apparently had a “good laugh” about their SW19 punch-up.

McEnroe beat Borg in a thrilling four-set final to win Wimbledon for the first time.

He went on to lift the trophy another two times and he now works as a pundit for the BBC.
