The sunshine spot with golden beaches, €2 pints, sunset cruises, cliff jumping, and €38 Ryanair flights
TAKE a look at the sunshine spot with golden beaches, €2 pints and cliff jumping – with Ryanair flights from just €38.
Naples is Italy’s third largest city after Rome and Milan, and is the capital of the Campania region.
Naples is the third largest city in Italy[/caption] Naples enjoys year round warm weather[/caption]Located in the southwest of the country, Naples is a coastal area popular among tourists.
It offers all that you would need for a short getaway from stunning beaches and natural beauty to memorable culture and nightlife.
And the spot boasts year-round warm weather, with temperatures as high as 24°C even in the winter months.
It’s the perfect place for jetsetters to shake off dull winter weather and embrace the sun.
Not only that, but Naples Airport is only roughly three hours from Ireland.
Ryanair is offering flights to the city’s main airport for just €38 on selected dates.
The airline giant flies from Dublin Airport straight to Naples so holidaygoers can reach the sunny spot without travelling too far.
Once in Naples, the city has heaps to offer that can be packed into a weekend trip.
Most visitors would recommend spending at least three to four days in Naples, but if you have more time, you won’t be sorry.
Like any coastal European city, Naples offers miles of stunning beaches to soak up the sun.
The beautiful Bagno Elena is a favourite among families and children and is set against a backdrop of a stunning old world palace.
The beach is divided into three main areas – the first is the central pier, which is ideal for lounging on a sunbed.
It’s the perfect spot for holidaygoers to sit and relax with a cocktail or a good book and has a gorgeous view of the surrounding area.
On either side are the other parts of the beach, which have shallow water safe enough to swim in.
There are also plenty of sunbeds to rent and the delicious Il Ristorante located on the pier.
OPEN WATERS
For a more unique take on city swimming, head to Rocce Verdi, where although you have to pay a small entrance fee, there is plenty to do.
The rocky spot, known in English as Green Rocks for the colour the rocks turn when the tide comes in, is perfect for adventure lovers.
There, visitors can head to the top of a rocky cliff and dive into the saltwater pools below, or rent a kayak to head out into the open waters.
There are also more sunbeds available to rent, so no matter your speed, you’ll be comfortable.
After a day at the beach, there’s plenty more on offer in the stunning city.
DAY TRIP
An old world charm means the spot is filled with winding alleyways and cobbled streets.
And there are some beautiful must-see buildings, such as the San Carlo Theatre and the Royal Palace of Naples.
History buffs should plan a day trip to Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius, about an hour outside the city.
The famous city of Pompeii was preserved in 79 AD after the massive volcanic eruption, leaving it covered in ash.
Plenty of tours offer a half day or one day trip from the city to the historic site, and it’s a must see when in Naples.
NEW SIDE OF THE CITY
There are plenty of other exciting activities on offer including a cruise along the coastline.
Some of the trips include food and drinks, and others will take you out at sunset so you can enjoy a truly picturesque moment.
Another great activity is to take a tour of the famous underground caves which wind under the city.
Built during the Roman Empire, the tunnels offer a glimpse into the city’s fascinating past.
At night, there’s a whole other side to Naples that is well worth seeing.
From low-key, culture-focused nights to heart-pumping dance fun, the city offers all that you need for a great night.
And with a pint of beer costing just €2 in some places, it’s easy to make the most of a night out without breaking the bank.
One of the most popular areas among Neapolitan locals is Chiaia, an upmarket area filled with cocktail bars and delicious restaurants.

Back for You (2025) Episode 1
Shane Lowry makes touching gesture to ‘best friend’ Rory McIlroy after missing out on ‘my ultimate goal’ at Pebble Beach
SHANE LOWRY said it was “pretty cool” to see his “best friend” Rory McIlroy “in full flow” during the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
McIlroy outlasted his Irish counterpart for his first PGA Tour win of 2025 last weekend in California.
Both men pocketed a cool seven-figure sum EACH for their efforts, but that did not dampen Lowry’s disappointment.
Taking to Instagram, he said: “Reflecting on my week at Pebble Beach.
“I’m disappointed to fall short of what my ultimate goal was on Sunday but all in all proud of how I fought, especially when the going got tough yesterday.”
The 2019 Open Champion made the point of praising McIlroy, adding: “To watch one of my good friends in full flight doing his thing was also pretty cool.
“Finally thanks to everyone at AT&T and Pebble Beach for a great week”.
Lowry can rest easy with the consolation that his performance and second placed finish saw him jump up the world rankings.
Lowry, whose best-ever world ranking came after he won the 2019 Open Championship, surged to number 16 that year.
Going into last week’s event in California at the iconic Pebble Beach, he was ranked number 28, but now he’s jumped ten places to 18 in the official world rankings.
He’s also leapt up to ninth on the FedEx Cup ladder after missing the cut two weeks ago at the Farmers Insurance Open.
He also gained vital Ryder Cup points as he shot up to fourth on the European qualifying table.
McIlroy leads the way ahead of Tyrrell Hatton, Rasmus Højgaard, and Shane Lowry.
The iconic team event gets underway in September at Bethpage Black GC in New York.
Rory McIlroy remains in third place in the world rankings but is hot on the heels of Xander Schauffele after his first PGA Tour win of the season.
Scottie Scheffler remains way out in front at the top of the rankings.
And, like McIlroy, the event was the American’s first PGA Tour start of the 2025 season.
The two-time major winner returned after a cooking accident that left him requiring surgery.
Scheffler finished T9 at the event, six shots behind McIlroy’s winning score.
The PGA Tour heads to Phoenix this week for the WM Open.

1. The Pitt
The Pitt may be the closest we'll come to an ER reunion. Starring Noah Wyle, the medical drama follows emergency room doctors in a Pittsburgh hospital. And while Wyle isn't reprising his role as Dr. John Carter, several members of ER's creative team are involved with the new show.
However, despite the similarities, The Pitt takes a very different format: The entire season takes place during one 15-hour shift, with each episode accounting for one hour (yes, it's very 24-esque).
"Where the show really shines is in its ability to tell a whole bunch of different stories with a sprawling cast of characters in a way that is still incredibly easy to follow," wrote Forbes critic Erik Kain when reviewing the show. "There are a bunch of doctors, student doctors, nurses, techs, medics and EMTs working the shift, and a rotating cast of patients and families filtering in and out of the ER throughout the day."
The Pitt dropped its first episode on Jan. 9; at the time of writing, five episodes were available to stream, with new ones airing on Max at 9 p.m. Thursdays.
2. Common Side Effects
Adult cartoon-comedy takes on big pharma in this new series from the Adult Swim block. Common Side Effects follows former high school lab partners Marshall Cuso (Dave King) and Frances Applewhite (Emily Pendergast) as they "uncover a sinister conspiracy to destroy a mushroom that can cure all the world's diseases," according to the show page.
"What makes the series captivating is its style and deadpan voice," wrote The New York Times' chief TV critic James Poniewozik. "The two D.E.A. agents put on Marshall’s case, Copano (Joseph Lee Anderson) and Harrington (Martha Kelly), are an oddball well-meaning pair who might have walked out of a ’90s indie comedy."
"But maybe most refreshing is how Common Side Effects manages to tell a pointed, conspiracist story without cynicism or despair," Poniewozik added.
If you're skeptical, keep in mind that Common Side Effects was created by Steve Hely, who also worked on Veep and The Office, and Joseph Bennett, the brain's behind 2023's popular animated series Scavengers Reign.
Common Side Effects premiered on Feb. 2 with the first two episodes. New episodes will air Sundays at 11 p.m.
3. The White Lotus: Season 3 (Feb. 16)
One of the most anticipated returns of the year graces our TV screens mid-month. The third season of The White Lotus takes place in dreamy Thailand and boasts an all-star cast including Carrie Coon, Walton Goggins, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey, Natasha Rothwell (reprising her role from season one as Belinda the spa manager), Patrick Schwarzenegger, and Leslie Bibb.
The first two seasons started with the murder of a yet-unknown person, but Time says that the newest installment "suggests a more terrifying escalation looms."
Series creator Mike White previously told The Hollywood Reporter that the first season was about money, the second about sex, and the third will be a "satirical and funny look at death and eastern religion and spirituality."
White has also said that the upcoming season will be "darker" than others and "longer, bigger, crazier," according to EW.
The White Lotus season 3 will occupy HBO's coveted 9 p.m. Sunday slot, premiering Feb. 16.
4. Last Week Tonight with John Oliver: Season 12 (Feb. 16)
It's safe to say that John Oliver will have plenty to talk about when he returns for the 12th season of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.
You can expect the same satirical, comedic, well-researched take on current events as in past seasons, with a season 12 trailer highlighting topics from infamous politicians to Moo Deng the hippo.
Last Week Tonight with John Oliver premiers Sunday, Feb. 16 at 11 p.m.
