You have 20/20 vision and a high IQ if you can spot the hidden heart in this Valentine’s Day optical illusion

SPOTTING the three cupids is easy, but only those who are really love-struck can find the hidden heart in this Valentine’s Day brainteaser.

Time to put your vision skills and IQ to the test and crack this tricky brainteaser as quickly as possible.

Can you spot the hidden heart in this Valentine’s Day optical illusion?[/caption]

The image above is known as an optical illusion, meaning there could be other not-so obvious elements to be found.

The challenge here is to spot the hidden heart perfectly blended into this romantic scene.

Everyone can quickly see the three cupids among the flowers.

But only those with 20/20 vision and a high IQ can solve this mind-bending puzzle.

Are you able to find where the heart is or will you be left scratching your head?

It might seem a bit daunting at first, but the key is to carefully examine each section of the image.

You might wish to start from the top left corner of the image and work your way down, or maybe do the complete opposite – whatever gives you more confidence!

Another useful tactic is picking an element of the picture and analyse what’s around it.

How can optical illusions and brainteasers help me?

Engaging in activities like solving optical illusions and brainteasers can have many cognitive benefits as it can stimulate various brain regions.

Some benefits include:

  • Cognitive stimulation: Engaging in these activities challenges the brain, promoting mental agility and flexibility.
  • Problem-solving skills: Regular practice enhances analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Memory improvement: These challenges often require memory recall and can contribute to better memory function.
  • Creativity: They encourage thinking outside the box, fostering creativity and innovative thought processes.
  • Focus and attention: Working on optical illusions and brainteasers requires concentration, contributing to improved focus.
  • Stress relief: The enjoyable nature of these puzzles can act as a form of relaxation and stress relief.

Did you manage to spot the spider hidden in this Valentine’s Day scene? If so, congratulations!

Still struggling to find it? Have a look at the solution image at the bottom to find out where it is.

Did you know that solving optical illusions is a great way of training your brain and improving creative thinking?

Brainteasers are purposefully designed to trick our vision and can be used as simple determiners of intelligence.

So you might want to try The Sun’s wide range of optical illusions created to stimulate the deepest parts of your brain.

In this tricky scene, everyone can see the messy bedroom, but finding the hidden spider is the real challenge.

Another tricky brainteaser features a gnarled tree but only those with high IQ can spot a sleepy cat hiding on it.

If that’s still not hard enough for you, then have a go at spotting the hidden broom amongst the clothes in less than five seconds.

Or you can have a go at figuring out the hidden message in this band’s cover art that has confused fans for years.

Lastly, puzzle fanatics have been left scratching their heads trying to find the lost feather in just 12 seconds.

Gordon D’Arcy to lead Irish team in gruelling charity cycle in honour of rugby great who died from motor neurone disease

GORDON D’ARCY is taking part in a gruelling charity cycle from Dublin to Edinburgh in honour of the late Doddie Weir.

The Scottish rugby legend died at 52 in November 2022 after a five-year battle with motor neurone disease.

The My Name’5 Doddie Foundation was subsequently set up in his memory and raises vital funds for motor neurone disease (MND) research.

The charity has teamed up with former Ireland and Leinster centre Gordon D’Arcy for an 800-mile cycle, the proceeds from which will go to the foundation.

The 44-year-old will lead a squad of Irish riders as part of a 300-strong team cycling from Dublin to Edinburgh entitled ‘Doddie’s Grand Tour’.

D’Arcy will be joined by former Ireland international Paddy Johns and Ulster star Dennis McBride.

And he said: “This is about coming together to support a cause that affects so many lives.

“Doddie’s spirit of resilience and camaraderie continues to inspire us all, and we’re determined to push through every mile to raise as much as we can for MND research.

“The Irish rugby community has always stepped up in times of need, and I know that fans across Ireland and Scotland will unite once again to support this incredible initiative.

“Every donation takes us one step closer to finding effective treatments and, ultimately, a cure for MND.”

‘Doddie’s Grand Tour’ will kick off at Dublin’s iconic Guinness Storehouse on Tuesday, February 5.

The first leg will see riders cycle more than 100 miles from Dublin to Belfast before crossing the Irish Sea to Cairnryan, where the Scottish route begins.

The rest of the contingent will then join and ride through Wigtownshire, Dumfries, the Scottish Borders, Glasgow, Perthshire, and up to Stonehaven before arriving in Edinburgh.

The cycle lines up in such a way that it will arrive at its destination this Saturday, the day of Ireland’s clash against Scotland in the Six Nations.

The event is spearheaded by former Scotland rugby captain and MND campaigner Rob Wainwright.

It is aiming to arrive on Saturday, February 8 ahead of Scotland’s Six Nations clash against Ireland the following day.

Wainwright has raised more than £2.5 million for My Name’5 Doddie Foundation through previous fundraising challenges.

And he commented: “The Scots and Irish have a special bond, and while we may not have been terribly close on the pitch in recent years, we’re thick as thieves off it.

“It’s fantastic to have Gordon, Paddy, and Dennis leading the charge from Dublin.

“The support from the Irish rugby community has been immense, and with the passion of the fans behind us, we know this year’s event will be another huge success.”

Paul Thompson, Director of Fundraising at My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, said: “Every penny raised through Doddie’s Grand Tour will go towards supporting the Foundation as we fund research we hope will develop effective treatments – and, ultimately, a cure for MND. We urge everyone to get behind this event and support the riders in any way they can.”

A host of sporting figures will also take part in the ride, including Iwan Tukalo, Paul Burnell, Roger Baird, Rory Lawson, Ryan Grant, Richie Vernon, Tony Copsey, Heather Stanning, Andy Nicol, Cameron Glasgow, and Ruaridh Jackson.

Shoppers have found one wardrobe essential that is perfect for a range of outfits.

The Essential Denim High Rise Black Jeggings cost just €15 and come in sizes 8 to 24.

They are the ultimate piece to wear from day to night – pair them with a blouse and they are perfect for taking you from the office to drinks afterwards.

In the official item description on the Dunnes Stores website, fashion chiefs wrote: “Created with flexible Lycra, this denim design offers the look of jeans combined with the comfort of leggings.

“Featuring a mock fly and pockets at the front as well as two back pockets, the material is stretchy and comfortable to wear.”

One fashion fan has taken to social media to share a look at the find.

Instagram user Lauren Egerton shared a video to the platform for her followers.

She wrote: “Should I keep these or not?

“Are these still on trend? I have never worn them before and i really don’t know if I should keep them or not.”

Lauren said: “I have a fashion question. I bought something; the tag is still on it, so I can actually return it, but I don’t know if this particular item is still in fashion.”.

First, she shows viewers what she is wearing and how she is going to style the piece.

She holds up a gorgeous white cardigan from Penneys, with large brown buttons up the centre.

She then adds a pair of black jeggings, saying: “These are the jeggings from Dunnes. Simple pair of jeggings, quite thin in material, very comfortable”.

She picked up a size 10, noting that it’s a really good fit.

Lauren then holds up a pair of Ugg boots, asking: “Are these still in fashion?

“I love seeing them on other people, I think they look really cool on certain people but I don’t know if they’re still in fashion.”

She picked up the white Ugg boot dupes from TK Maxx for just €16.

Trying them on, she adds that they look “really expensive” and add a cosy vibe to the outfit.

THE HISTORY OF DUNNES STORES

DUNNES Stores opened its first store on Patrick Street in Cork in 1944 - and it was an instant hit.

Shoppers from all over the city rushed to the store to snap up quality clothing at pre-war prices in Ireland’s first ‘shopping frenzy’.

During the excitement, a window was forced in and the police had to be called to help control the crowds hoping to bag founder Ben Dunne’s ‘Better Value’ bargains.

Dunnes later opened more stores in the 1950s and began to sell groceries in 1960 – starting with apples and oranges.

The retailer said: “Fruit was expensive at the time and Ben Dunne yet again offered Better Value than anyone else in town.

“Over time, our food selection has grown and that spirit of good value has remained strong.

“Now we offer a wide range of carefully-sourced foods from both local Irish suppliers and overseas.”

The retailer’s first Dublin store opened its doors in 1957 on Henry Street and a super store on South Great Georges Street was unveiled in 1960.

They added: “In 1971, our first Northern Irish store opened, and many others soon followed.

“Expansion continued in the 1980s in Spain, and later into Scotland and England.”

Dunnes now has 142 stores and employs 15,000 people.
