RICHARD Osman has revealed how he has been rushed to hospital for emergency surgery.

The TV star told fans he was suffering from the “worst pain” he had ever been in and was taken for treatment.

Speaking on The Rest Is Entertainment podcast Richard said: “I’ve had quite the week of it.

“I woke up the other night in pain and I had a kidney stone.

“It is the single most painful thing that has ever happened to me. The doctors kept saying it’s more painful than childhood but I’m not sure I can buy that.

“It was unbelievably painful but thank you to everyone at Charing Cross Hospital who were so great.

“I was having liquid morphine and it didn’t touch the sides.”

CONNOR PARSONS has returned to the League of Ireland to join Bohemians – just a month after leaving for Dagenham and Redbridge. 

Parsons, 24, starred at Waterford over the past two-seasons helping the Blues to promotion and seventh place last season.

But he left the RSC in January to join National League Dagenham and Redbridge making two appearances, only to now be tempted back to Ireland by Alan Reynolds. 

Parsons said: “This move feels so right for me, and I’m delighted that everything worked out in the end and that I’ve been able to sign.

“I have a great relationship with Rennie from our time together at Waterford. He is someone who knows how to get the best out of me.”

Reynolds made his move to bring Parsons, who scored three goals from left wing last season, believing he can be a big fan favourite. 

The Bohs gaffer said: “Connor is a really talented winger with electric pace, who will bring great energy to our side and excite our supporters.

“He is a player I’ve wanted to bring to the club for some time. We tried to get him at the end of last season so I’m delighted that we’ve been able to get him now.

“He is someone I have worked with before at Waterford so I know the qualities he will bring. 

“He is a really quick and direct wide player. He knows the league well now, and he is going to be a brilliant addition to our squad.”

The English man joined the Blues in 2023 having started out with Norwich City with spells at Wycombe and in Iceland. 

He is also a YouTube star and featured in a Sky Sports programme where former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp had to select which mystery player was a professional. 

Parsons’ could make his debut on Friday in a friendly against Longford before the February 16 league opener against Shamrock Rovers  at the Aviva Stadium. 

He continued: “I just can’t wait to get started now. I know everyone is really looking forward to the first game of the season. What a game to kick off the season with at the Aviva Stadium. 

“It will mean everything for that to be my first game in a Bohs shirt. It will be a massive occasion and we want to build momentum from the start, so I will be doing everything I can in training between now and then to ensure I am a part of it.”

Meanwhile, St Patrick’s Athletic have loaned midfielder Aaron Bolger to English National League side Ebbsfleet United. 

The 25-year-old Bray man joined the Saints from Cork City last winter but now goes back to the UK having previously been on Cardiff City’s books. 

OVER 25,000 homes, businesses and schools remain without power, 11 days on from Storm Eowyn.

ESB Networks have confirmed that approximately 25,000 homes, farms, schools and businesses are still without power, while around 400 premises have no water.

The National Emergency Co-ordination Group’s latest update said restoration works are continuing on the worst impacted areas.

This is being aided by crews from Austria, Finland, France, the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and Norway.

ESB’s Regional Manager Siobhán Wynne told RTE’s News at One that the number of schools without power should be smaller by tomorrow.

She said there are around 150 schools still impacted, with the figure “greatly reduced this morning”.

She said: “We are hopeful that as of tomorrow morning, it will only be a small number of schools that will be impacted.”

However, she noted that it is currently difficult to give an exact date as to when all customers will see a restoration.

She added that she expects this could be by the middle of the week.

She said: “In the coming days after that, we will restore power to the remaining customers by the end of this week.”

Sligo, Galway, Mayo, Leitrim, Donegal, Cavan, Monaghan, Longford and Roscommon have been confirmed to be the worst-hit areas in Ireland, all with areas without power.

And dozens of customers in the worst-hit areas of the country have been left furious by the lack of power as we approach day 12.

One said: “I still have no power and the trees that pulled down the ESB lines haven’t even been removed yet!

“A whole forest down behind me!! God knows when it’ll be sorted!”

Another said: “12 days after a storm and Kildare still has intermittent power cuts of three hours long and no reason given by ESB networks or any pre warning.

‘NOT GOOD ENOUGH’

“This is like a third world country as your customers, it’s not good enough at all!

A third said: “Day 11. No electricity. No phone reception. No Internet. And not a single ESB worker to be seen in the area in literally the entire 11 days.”

Another added: “We’re still out of power and water and the esb guys literally told us we aren’t priority so not to expect it back before Friday.”

In Northern Ireland, electricity supplier NIE Networks said there are now less than 1,000 people without power, most located in Co Fermanagh.

They said all power supply should be back tonight.

It is estimated that it could be the end of the week before power is fully restored to the outstanding affected customers in the 26 counties.
