18 names put forward for National Children’s Hospital in €4.5k taxpayer spend with bizarre Acorn and Dolphin options

THE Dolphin Children’s Hospital was among the names ruled out for the National Children’s Hospital.

Acorn and Rainbow were also among 18 put forward in a €4,500 consultancy process.

The Irish Sun last week revealed how a “specialist branding agency” was brought in to help decide the new Dublin hospital’s name.

But the Health Minister, Jennifer Carroll MacNeill, snubbed the odd suggestions and went for the basic National Children’s Hospital Ireland.

The consultancy process cost the State €4,500, with a list of 17 other options drawn up in the process.

They include the Kernal Children’s Hospital, Acorn Children’s Hospital and Dolphin Children’s Hospital.

A series of other variations includes names like The Pearl, Silverbridge, The Wellspring, The Grove, Farelight and Rainbow Children’s Hospital.

The process also threw up some Irish based options including Solas Children’s Hospital, Rialto Children’s Hospital and the All Ireland Children’s Hospital.

The Summit, Lumina and the Central Children’s Hospital were also on the list of names recommended to the Department of Health.

Officials said the “specialist branding agency” was working to a brief of “engagement and inclusivity, being mindful of history and time and cost effectiveness”.

An extensive consulting process saw the names put to a number of groups, with young people quizzed going for the National Children’s Hospital Ireland, unveiled as the winner last week.#

However, in 2023, the Seanad passed a motion across all parties which called for the hospital to be named after Dr Kathleen Lynn — a doctor and activist who was involved in the 1916 Easter Rising.

And FF Senator Mary Fitzpatrick last week blasted the Minister for “wasting public funds” on a naming process that ignored the motion.

Sinn Fein were also highly critical of the Minister for not naming the hospital after the Easter Rising hero.

However, Minister Carroll MacNeill said she went with the National Children’s Hospital Ireland as she believed it would make it easier for people trying to get to the facility.

But she wants Dr Lynn to be part of the hospital, explaining: “I would like to name something in the hospital after her.

“Whether it’s a wing or maybe an education auditorium so that generations of students perhaps can see her name and reflect on her name and know who she is.”

I’m an OnlyFans model about to take on Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon, here’s what I’m allowed to post – and what’s banned

NOVAK DJOKOVIC will face a French tennis star on Tuesday who has a side hustle as an OnlyFans model.

Alexandre Muller – the world No.41 – will face the legendary 24-time Grand Slam champion on Centre Court on Tuesday.

Muller calls himself France’s ‘sexiest professional tennis player’[/caption]

The 28-year-old has never been beyond the second round of a major in 12 attempts.

But he has gained an army of fans outside the sport because of his account on the infamous adult site.

In his biography, he describes himself as “sexiest professional tennis player from France”.

OnlyFans is a platform where people can post risque photos and images of themselves, some of which are semi-pornographic, and earn lots of cash from the public.

Muller, who has earned more than $3million (£2.2m) in career tennis prize money, insists he does not do anything bar the odd topless gym photo.

France’s No.4 best player says the site organisers are trying to change their tardy image and he likes to show off instead behind-the-scenes footage from tournaments around the world.

However, he is NOT allowed to post content from the Wimbledon locker rooms and can only show off facilities which are in public areas.

Speaking to SunSport, Muller said: “My agent told me that OnlyFans wanted to support me.

Muller loves being an OnlyFans athlete[/caption]

“Of course, I was thinking, is it a bit tricky to sign with OnlyFans? But to see the project, they want to change their image.

“They are supporting lots of players, golfers, boxers, UFC fighters, a lot of sportsmen.

“At the beginning my friends were laughing at me. Then I showed them my platform and they said: ‘Okay, it’s very cool.’ Everybody wants to sign up now.

“I started two years ago. After two-three months the ATP (the sport’s governing body) told me to get the OnlyFans logo off my sleeve.

“They said it was not the image of the ATP and wanted me to stop.”

Other tennis stars on the site include Australian maverick Nick Kyrgios, French ace Chloe Paquet and Spaniard Pedro Martinez, who faces Britain’s George Loffhagen in the first round on Tuesday.

Muller says that the interactions with punters is much nicer on OnlyFans compared to the nasty betting messages he gets off angry individuals via Instagram.

The Poissy-born star, who won the Hong Kong Open in January, said: “On Instagram, I receive only messages from the guys who bet on me and lose money, who say a lot of bad words.

“When I go on OnlyFans there are only real fans who support me and send some nice messages even after some matches I’ve lost.

“I enjoy talking to these kinds of people and not the guys on Instagram.

“About 99 per cent of people who talk to me are very nice. There’s no problem.

‘DO I POST RISQUE PHOTOS?’

“People ask me about what happens behind the scenes, what does it look like, the gym, the courts. I just post things about tennis.

“Do I post risque photos? No, no. I don’t do it. Because I don’t want to.

“My job is a tennis player. Not making movies for adults. I received a lot of messages, saying: ‘Alex, can you show me this?’ But not my body.

“I like to show people where I go in the world, some nice places, my routine.

“It’s not easy every day being a tennis player. We train every week. Not a lot of days off or holidays. I enjoy this life.

“This year I won my first title. For the moment I don’t have any pain anywhere, the physique is good, everything is great.”

Taking to social media, where she goes by the username fatgal2badgal, she shared her transformation so far.

In the first image, she looked considerably larger and weighed over 20 stone.

Now, she had shed 4 st in just 16 weeks and already looked so much slimmer at 16 stone.

Now, the young woman was sharing her advice for sticking out the weight loss jab and what to expect.

She revealed that you can often feel sick when you start, and admitted it could be from nerves.

However, she said no matter how sick you feel you have to eat and fuel your body.

She continued: “If you feel weak, it’s because you aren’t fueling your body.

“This isn’t the side effects, it’s you not looking after yourself and expecting instant results.”

She also said drinking enough water was essential to your weight loss journey and making sure you didn’t feel sick while on Mounjaro as well as two more items she can’t live without.

“You need a multivitamin, collagen tablets and make sure you get yourself a snazzy water cup that holds loads of water in because you will need A LOT of water,” she added.

The clip posted to her TikTok account went viral with over 75k views and over 1,500 likes.

People were quick to thank her in the comments for her advice and congratulate her on her weight loss.

One person wrote: “Thank you, I needed this because I’ve been so weak the last few days. I need to fuel my body more.”

Another commented: “My belly won’t go.”

What to do if you lose too much weight too quickly whilst on Mounjaro

IF you're losing too much weight too quickly while on Mounjaro, it’s important to take action to avoid potential health risks like muscle loss, malnutrition, dehydration, and fatigue. Here’s what you can do:

Evaluate Your Caloric Intake

Mounjaro reduces appetite, which can make it easy to eat too little. If you’re losing weight too fast (more than two to three lbs per week after the initial adjustment period), try:

  • Tracking your food intake to ensure you’re eating enough calories (apps like MyFitnessPal can help).
  • Increasing protein intake to preserve muscle mass (aim for 0.6–1g per pound of body weight).
  • Adding healthy fats and complex carbs (e.g., avocados, nuts, whole grains) for balanced energy.

Adjust Your Dosage (With Doctor’s Approval)

If your weight loss is too rapid or causing side effects, your doctor may:

  • Pause dose increases or lower your dosage.
  • Adjust your treatment plan to stabilise your weight loss.

Strength Training & Exercise

To prevent muscle loss:

  • Incorporate resistance training at least two to three times per week.
  • Stay active with low-impact exercises like walking or yoga.

Hydrate & Manage Electrolytes

  • Drink enough water (Mounjaro can reduce thirst).
  • Electrolytes matter – Consider adding magnesium, sodium, and potassium if you feel weak or fatigued.

Monitor for Malnutrition & Deficiencies

Rapid weight loss can cause vitamin/mineral deficiencies (especially B12, iron, and electrolytes). If you experience:

  • Fatigue, hair loss, or dizziness, ask your doctor about supplements.

Consider Further Medical Guidance

If your weight loss is excessive or causing health concerns, speak with your healthcare provider.

They might adjust your dosage, diet, or exercise plan to help stabilise your weight loss.

“Great advice. Also big well done,” penned a third.

Meanwhile, a fourth said: “Can’t get over how amazing you look. You’re smashing it.”

“Amazing well done,” claimed a fifth

Someone else added: “Great advice.”

WE HAVE the first look at the sexiest ever Heart Rate Challenge on Love Island.

Tonight on the long-running ITV2 show, the Islanders will suck fingers, strip off and even SPANK each other.

The infamous heart rate challenge will once again make a return to the Love Island villa.

As part of the task, either the boys or the girls wear heart rate monitors as they are sat by the fire pit.

The Islanders will then take their turns to dance on the opposite sex with either a strip tease or another sexy routine.

At the end of the challenge, the couple that raises the heart rates the most wins the challenge.

But as always, will each contestants heart be raised by the partner they are coupled up with or will they get excited by another?

A sneak peek trailer has shown that the contestants have gone to even greater lengths this year to have hearts pounding.

In the clip, one of the girls could be saying that Yazmin was “killing it,” as she straddled Dejon Noel-Williams.

This was after an Emily straddled Conor Phillips with her angel wings costume as she whispered to him: “Your loss.”

However, Conor had gold wings of his own as he attempted to set Shakira’s heart racing on the garden floor.

After firmly rejecting Ben Holbrough, Shakira made sure to show the controversial contestant what he was missing.

She slid his arms across her clothed breasts whilst dancing on his lap as Harry and the other boys looked on.

This was before viewers saw Harrison Solomon grind suggestively against Alima.

He later had both Toni and Shakira on the floor of the garden where he acted out a sex positions in racy scenes.

However, Shakira made sure to give Giorgio the performance of his life as she donned slinky pink lingerie.

Events in the Majorca villa got even more wild as a BDSM-clad Dejon spanked Emily Moran who struck a bent-over position as she leant on her chair.

Arguably, Helena Ford was the contestant who shocked the islanders the most.

She left the boys reeling when she made a beeline for footballer Harry Cooksley.

Kneeling on the floor, she suggestively sucked his finger as the boys were practically screaming.

She whispered sweet nothings into Harry’s ear, declaring her desire to make love[/caption]

The contestant then straddled his lap as she whispered in his ear her desire to make love, saying: “I can’t wait to f*** you.”

Harrison heard what she told him, as he confessed the quick comment to an open-mouthed Dejon.

This was as both Toni and Shakira looked far from impressed by her behaviour as they watched on from the terrace.

Defence Forces driver appears before military court over alleged repeated failure to stop coach for toilet trips

A DRIVER in the Defence Forces has appeared before a military court over his alleged repeated failure to stop a coach to allow troops to go to the toilet.

A summary court martial today heard the incident took place on a trip between Finner Camp in Co Donegal and Dublin six years ago.

Wikipedia

The driver eventually pulled in on a hard shoulder and told his passengers that “anyone who needs to p**s and s**t can go there.”

Private Aidan Graham, who is based in the Curragh Camp in Co Kildare, pleaded not guilty to 11 charges contrary to military law at a hearing at the Military Justice Centre in McKee Barracks, Dublin on Monday.

The accused is charged with various breaches of the Defence Act 1954 over his alleged conduct on March 15, 2019 while driving 20 troops back to their base at Cathal Brugha Barracks in Rathmines, Dublin from training in Finner Camp, Ballyshannon, Co Donegal.

Pte Graham is accused of four counts of disobeying a lawful command of a superior officer including two in relation to refusing to stop the bus at a service station.

Five other charges relate to accusations that Pte Graham used threatening or insulting language or behaving in an insubordinate manner towards his superiors, including remarking to one NCO: “I’m sick of this f***ing s**t, I’m going home. I’ve been on the road since 5am.”

Opening the case for the prosecution, counsel for the Director of Military Prosecutions, Lieutenant Colonel Shane Keogh BL told the military judge, Colonel Michael Campion, said the orders to make a stop on a 200km-plus journey were “necessary and reasonable.”

“He did not act in ignorance. He acted in defiance,” remarked Lt Col Keogh.

After the bus was pulled into a hard shoulder, Corporal Paul Burke said he would not let 20 soldiers in uniform go to the toilet on the side of a road as someone would take a photo which would appear in newspapers and social media.

The trial heard that it was established that nobody else on the coach was qualified to drive the vehicle to allow Pte Graham to be relieved of his duties.

Corporal Burke described the driver’s demeanour as “crazy.”

IN A RUSH

When they arrived at Cathal Brugha Barracks, he said he was twice told to “f**k off” by Pte Graham when he ordered him to get out of the bus.

Sergeant Derek Rochford, who was a corporal at the time, admitted that the driver had told him at Finner Camp that he was in a rush as he had to be back as quickly as possible “for another detail.”

After the incident on the hard shoulder, Sgt Rochford said he did not feel it was safe to ask Pte Graham to stop again.

Several other passengers who were on the bus also gave evidence about the driver’s refusal to stop for a toilet break apart from pulling in on a hard shoulder.

An officer in the Defence Forces’ transport division told the court martial that a superior officer can tell the driver of a military vehicle what to do.

However, Commandant Ciaran Haughton said a document would need to be endorsed for any deviation from the driver’s detail.

The hearing was adjourned and resumes on Tuesday.
