Watch the moment Katy Perry almost FALLS as prop tilts in the air just a day after Beyonce suffered scary stage moment

KATY Perry fans were left with their hearts in their mouths after she “almost fell” from a giant ball while on stage.

The pop star, 40, had climbed into the huge metal sphere during a show when it began tilting dramatically at a strange angle.

It came after Beyoncé almost fell out of a flying car while on tour[/caption]

An army of quick-thinking backstage crew members raced onto the set in Australia to steady the massive prop so Katy – who was clinging on to the sides – could climb down safely.

With the backing music stopped, the crowd could be heard applauding the star and shouting “go, Katy!” as she made her way out and onto the floor.

The incident came just one day after Beyoncé sparked panic as a flying car she was riding on during her Cowboy Carter Tour malfunctioned.

The red Cadillac began tilting to one side as Beyoncé repeatedly said “stop” into the microphone and the music cut out.

Katy was also left hanging in the air during her Lifetimes Tour show at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre in Adelaide.

Sharing a video on X, one fan who was in the crowd said, “Wait not katy perry almost falling from the giant ball.. this is scary asf.

“Omg it’s scarier than it looked.”

The clip was captioned with, “Katy Perry handled it like a queen.”

Fans were quick to reply to the footage, with many comparing Katy’s lucky escape to Beyoncé’s.

“Main Pop girlies literally risking life to put on a show!” one said.

Another added, “She thinks she’s beyonce!”

A third chimed in, “Beyonce almost fell in her car prop and now Katy with this.”

And someone else wrote, “Thankgod it didn’t happen when she was up in air.”

Beyoncé’s brush with danger came just 24 hours earlier while she was performing at the NRG Stadium in her native Texas.

Towards the end of the show, and after an appearance from her daughter Blue Ivy, things took a turn for the worse.

During her performance of 16 Carriages, the superstar hopped into a red car which was then lifted high into the air using cables.

She pulled on a silver cowboy hat and waved an American flag for her in-air adventures, yet was forced to halt the song as the vehicle leaned dangerously to one side.

The crowd paused when she stopped singing and signaled for help, before erupting into cheers as the vehicle was lowered to solid ground.

Like a pro, Beyonce continued the song then told her adoring fans: “I wanna thank y’all, for loving me.

“If ever I fall, I know y’all will catch me.”

GOING SILENT

Meanwhile, Katy had turned off her social media notifications in the lead up to her gig in Australia.

It came after The Sun revealed she has told friends her relationship with actor Orlando Bloom is over.

Katy has been in Australia with their four-year-old daughter Daisy, while Orlando jetted to Italy for Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s wedding.

British actor Orlando was seen cozying up to Kim Kardashian at the extravagant event before being spotted with Sydney Sweeney in Venice.

Katy and Orlando were in a relationship for nine years.

PS5 owners warned consoles ‘overheating’ if you play popular game as console ‘pushed to limits’ & ‘goes into overdrive’

PLAYSTATION 5 owners have been warned that a new game may be overheating their consoles.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, which launched earlier this month, has been hyped up over the game’s “stunning” graphics.

But the high-definition game is launching people’s consoles into overdrive, players have reported on social media.

“I’ve been playing the game on a base PS5 and overall it runs great – the graphics are stunning and I’ve had no issues during regular gameplay,” one player wrote on Reddit.

“But as soon as I pause the game and the map screen comes up, the fan suddenly goes into overdrive and I get an overheat warning.

“It’s strange because everything else runs smoothly, even during long gameplay sessions.

“But the moment I bring up the map and start planning a route, the fan suddenly goes crazy and I get an overheating warning.”

Consoles routinely overheat if they are kept in crowded spots, or are left to get dusty.

However, the overheating issue is even happening with well-ventilated and freshly cleaned consoles, the player claimed.

While the game’s creators rushed to fix the problem with a new update, it doesn’t appear to have worked, PushSquare reported.

“I’ve got the exact same problem,” another player said.

“I’m using an original PS5 digital version. Fans start screaming only on map menu.”

The issue is isolated to the base PS5, according to PushSquare, with PS5 Pro players reportedly spared the problem.

Gaming consoles may be more susceptible to overheating at the moment as warm weather spikes in parts of the UK, Europe and the US.

Though it’s worth noting that there may be more to the overheating issue, such as a memory leak.

Ireland Under-21s ace James Abankwah rejoins Watford on a season-long loan from sister club Udinese

JAMES Abankwah has joined Watford on a loan for a second time.

Abankwah, 21, impressed in his 19 appearances after linking up with the Hornets in January, earning a first call-up to the Ireland senior squad in March.

He has racked up nine appearances for the Ireland Under-21s

And Udinese have agreed to send the defender back to their sister club for the entire campaign this time around as new boss Paulo Pezzolano eyes up a promotion challenge.

Sporting director Gian Luca Nani said: “We saw the impact James had during his last loan period with us and we know that he can have a similar impact on the team.

“Paulo was impressed with his performances and was very keen to work with James.

“The relationship with Udinese has always been a powerful one that has benefitted both clubs overall and we are happy that it has allowed us to bring James back.

“We are content with our work so far in this window but there is still much to do and our immediate concern is strengthening our attacking options in line with Paulo’s input.”

Udinese signed Abankwah in January 2022 after he had shone for St Pat’s, helping them to win the FAI Cup a couple of months previously.

He was loaned back to the Inchicore outfit to enable him to complete his Leaving Cert before moving to Italy that summer.

Abankwah signed for Udinese in 2022 from Irish side St Patrick’s Athletic, who he then returned to on loan.

He has made eight Serie A appearances for them, either side of an unsuccessful stint with Charlton, and was handed a new contract which runs until the summer of 2029.

Bob Vylan’s bizarre rise to fame…from making music on Playstation to sick ‘kill the Queen’ rant & vile fan threats

WITH their vile chants of “death, death to the IDF” at Glastonbury this weekend, punk-rap duo Bob Vylan left thousands of music fans across the country appalled.

The stunt – referring to the killing of the Israel Defence Forces – has been slammed as “appalling hate speech” by the Prime Minister that risked “inciting violence”.

Comprised of Ipswich-born frontman Pascal Robinson-Foster, who performs as Bobby Vylan, and Londoner drummer Bobbie Vylan, the band now face calls for them to be arrested and prosecuted.

Arguably festival organisers – and the BBC – should have seen this coming from a band who relish controversy, claim to be “too extreme” to be signed by any record label and have lyrics including “kill the f***ing Queen”.

Such is the level of violence and hatred in their lyrics that they have been considered “too extreme” for the band to be officially signed by a major record label, so they trade under their own, which is called Ghost Theatre.

This meant they hand-delivered albums to record stores personally and booked their own shows before landing success and touring with Biffy Clyro and Offspring, and performing at Reading and Leeds festivals in 2021.

“Everyone is here bigging up Atlantic, bigging up Warner – f*** that! Big us up, because we did it without a major label budget,” Pascal said in 2022.

Anti-monarchy, anti-British and pro-Palestine, Bob Vylan has proudly declared in the past how “trying to wind people up” is one of the few ways to “derive enjoyment from living in this country”.

“If I can just say a thing and you’ll get upset then that feels like a small victory and I’ll print it on a T-shirt and wear that T-shirt every day,” Pascal told Tribune Magazine in 2022.

In the wake of their Glastonbury set, which has received widespread condemnation including from Emily Eavis, who claimed it “very much crossed a line”, Pascal shared a smirking snap of himself captioned: “While zionists are crying on socials, I’ve just had late night (vegan) ice cream.”

Since forming in 2017, Bob Vylan – who perform under stage names to maintain privacy in the face of what they call a “surveillance state” – has revelled in stirring up anger with controversial messaging and lyrics, and even threatened violence against their own fans.

Pascal – who previously performed as ‘Nee-Hi’ in grime group Ear 2 Da Street in his early teens – has claimed he was inspired by his “boring” childhood in Ipswich.

The rapper has anti-monarchy, anti-British and anti-government lyrics[/caption]

He began creating music on the Playstation game Music 2000, while living on a diet of “typical oven dinners” like “chicken kievs and potato waffles”. Around a decade ago he went vegan.

Pascal characterises his angry, resentful lyrics as “a reflection of the anger from systemic mistreatment”, according to The Guardian, with the struggles of being a black man in Europe a recurring theme in the band’s repertoire.

He claimed he was seven years old when he was first called the N-word and described the violence his “bredrin were surrounded by” as a teenager.

In We Live Here, Pascal rapped: “Neighbours called me ‘n*****’, told me ‘go back to my own country’; Said since we arrived, this place has got so ugly; But this is my f***ing country and it’s never been f***ing lovely.”

He also claimed to suffer at the hands of a cruel landlord when he was a young dad – “a baby with a baby” – stuck living in dangerous housing conditions.

“It was cold, it was damp, the windows were not double glazed, there was mould,” he told The Guardian

“The extractor fan caught fire when we were not home and there was a fire in the flat. Came home and whole place was black; everything smelled like smoke.

“And the landlord couldn’t give a f***. My partner got pneumonia during the pregnancy because of it. And he just didn’t care.”

Vile ‘kill the Queen’ chants

Pascal raps there is “nothing great” about Great Britain in the 2024 track Makes Me Violent, and sickeningly called for the late Queen’s death in the band’s 2020 release England’s Ending.

The vile lyrics read: “This country’s in dire need of a f***ing spanking, mate; Look it over, get the f***ing dinosaurs out; Yeah, and kill the f***ing Queen; She killed Diana, we don’t love her anyway.”

Their anti-monarchy stance is also evident on the track Reign, where Pascal raps: “Got a message for the thieves in the palace, we want the jewels back.”

The band – who do not cite Jewish singer-songwriter Bob Dylan as a musical influence – is also known for leading “f*** the government” chants at gigs and regularly taking pops at politicians and public figures.

Lyrics include: “let’s go dig up Maggie’s grave and ask her where that milk went” – in reference to ex-PM Margaret Thatcher’s decision to end free school milk for kids over seven back in 1971.

The band has also cited the cost of living crisis and escalating London rent prices, including in track GYAG with the words: “Landlord just raised your rent, better get yourself a gun.”

Threatening fans

At times the band’s vitriol has spilled over during performances with fans becoming the target.

In 2021 gig-goer Sarah Corbett claimed she was verbally abused by Pascal and feared retribution in a petty row over an ice cube.

She told the Norwich Evening News: “We were all having fun on the dance floor. I’d put an ice cube down my friend’s top for a laugh.

“Another girl then threw it at her friend, but it missed and landed at his feet. At that point he stopped the gig and demanded to know who had thrown it.”

Sarah took the flack for the incident and Pascal, who was wielding a baseball bat, lashed out at her and later refused to apologise.

“He started abusing me through the microphone,” she recalled. “As I tried to leave, one of his fans tried to grab me by the throat.”

Onlooker Mark Evans backed-up her claims, calling it a “horrible, bizarre rant… all over an ice cube” that led him to conclude the musician’s “credibility has gone”.

Sarah Corbett, former fan

Pascal previously threatened to beat up a heckler at a Manchester gig in an expletive-laden rant, with a clip recently re-posted on X.

In it the singer yelled: “I’d have you on your arse in no time you f***ing t**t.

“But I tell you what buy a ticket to the show at The Ritz and I’ll f***ing meet you outside side and punch you outside you d***head.”

The band has also channelled frustration toward other musicians for not jumping on their activist bandwagon – particularly when it comes to the Israel-Palestine conflict.

Pascal told NME in 2023: “It’s a cowardly f***ing thing. So f*** IDLES, f*** Sleaford Mods.

“And f*** every single one of those f***ing apolitical bands that don’t want to f***ing speak up when there’s something a little bit iffy, a little bit touchy, a little bit sensitive [because they have] got a f***ing bulls*** album to sell.

“F*** that. We can’t f***ing respect that at all. F*** them.”

But their recent Glastonbury stunt could prove a step too far.

US website The Daily Caller reported that Donald Trump’s administration is now looking into visas obtained by Bob Vylan for a 16-date tour of North America.

“The US government will not issue visas to any foreigner who supports terrorists,” a senior State Department official said, suggesting it could be revoked.

Glastonbury Festival organisers have also distanced themselves from the band, insisting the event was “no place… for antisemitism, hate speech or incitement to violence”.

But Bob Vylan remains unapologetic; today Pascal shared footage regarding the Palestine conflict and called for more action, claiming it is “incredibly important” to inspire future generations of activists in spite of the “suffocation of adult life”.

“Let them see us marching in the streets, campaigning on ground level, organising online and shouting about it on any and every stage that we are offered,” he wrote.

Glastonbury backlashes

Glastonbury Festival has been going for 54 trailblazing years - but at times it has been a stormy ride Here, we look at the biggest backlashes to hit the iconic music event.

The Smiths (1984): One of the first bands to divide the early Glastonbury purists were Manchester indie stars The Smiths. The band’s set even sparked a full scale stage invasion as they introduced the crowd to their guitar-driven, post-punk romanticism music. Guitarist Johnny Marr described their usual fanbase as “cup final supporters”, adding: “Eventually, I did manage to instigate a stage invasion, which raised a few eyebrows. One fan was trying to climb on stage, I helped pull him up, and then a few more people followed, and all of a sudden we’d managed to turn it into a Smiths gig.”

The Fence (2002): It wasn’t a band or musician that sparked controversy in 2002… it was a fence. Organiser Michael Eavis came under fire when he organised the erection of a £1million fence around the site. The ring of steel was brought in to protect ticket holders and those who might inadvertently endanger themselves by breaking in. Diehard Glasto fans, however, felt it was at odds with the event’s hippy ethos of peace and love. Eavis and co refused to back down, though, and the fence remains in place today.

JAY-Z (2008): Despite its long history, Glastonbury had never welcomed a rapper for a headline set – until 2008. Jay-Z’s top bill booking was met with a flurry of digs, including some from Oasis’s Noel Gallagher, who claimed hip hop had no place at the festival. In a perfect clap-back, Jay-Z walked out to a version of Wonderwall before launching into his powerful hit 99 problems. Seven years later, his pal Kanye West followed in his Glastonbury footsteps and topped the bill.

Metallica (2014): Thrash metal rockers Metallica were met with raised eyebrows when they were announced as Glastonbury headliners. Some critics claimed they lacked mainstream appeal, while others felt they were past their prime. However, frontman James Hetfield managed to quickly win the crowd round thanks to his good humour and polite manners.

Adele (2016): Although Adele wowed both festival goers and music fans at home with her headliner set, the British songstress did cause a stir by turning the air blue. She warned the crowd about her “potty mouth” but not everyone was impressed with with the 30 plus expletives she dropped on the stage during her headline set, which aired on the BBC.

Fintan McCarthy gets one over on Paul O’Donovan as Olympic teammates race AGAINST each other at World Rowing Cup

They actually won ahead of fellow Irish duo Paul O’Donovan and Daire Lynch

Favourite Lauren Henry from Britain was first while Frida Sanggaard Nielsen from Denmark claimed the bronze medal.

In the men’s double sculls A final, Fintan McCarthy and Konan Pazzaia pipped Paul O’Donovan and Daire Lynch for bronze.

The Irish crews went head-to-head after coming through their semi-finals on Saturday.

O’Donovan, racing against Olympic pal McCarthy, and Lynch finished the race in fifth.

Meanwhile Sarah Lavin starred — but it was not enough for Team Ireland to seal a place in Division 1 of the European Athletics Team Championships.

Lavin won her event in the women’s 100m hurdles to pick up maximum points.

And despite other strong performances from Nicola Tuthill, Cian McPhillips and the mixed 4x400m relay team, Ireland could only secure a fifth-placed finish.

Their 349-point haul saw them come behind champions Belgium on 451.5.

Slovenia claimed 402.5 and Norway got 400. Turkey recorded 382.

Shock moment Love Island’s Helena whispers VERY x-rated message in Harry’s ear during Heart Rate Challenge

LOVE Island viewers were left speechless after Helena leaned in and whispered a seriously X-rated message into Harry’s ear – right under Shakira’s nose.

The steamy moment left viewers gobsmacked, just as cracks began to show in Harry and Shakira’s rocky romance.

She ups her flirting game to prove to Harry they have “unfinished business”[/caption]

In a dramatic game of Snog, Marry, Pie, Shakira ended up going head to head with Helena over Harry’s affections – leaving Shakira in tears and feeling “betrayed”.

Tonight’s episode sees the return of the iconic and steamy heart rate challenge – where Helena uses the opportunity to flirt with Harry again.

In a sneak preview, Helena is wearing racy black lace lingerie as she makes her way to each boy and attempts to get their heartbeats racing.

When she gets to her former flame Harry, Helena seductively sucks his finger then whispers in his ear: “I can’t wait to f*** you!” – leaving Harry reeling.

And Dejon was left open-mouthed when Harrison told him what Helena said.

But is Helena just playing the game to spike his heart beat, or does she have genuine feelings for Harry?

This comes after Helena chose to snog Harry, remarking: “It’s been a while and I wanted to test the waters.”

Shakira went next and snogged Harry too, saying “I fancy the pants off him.”

The boys went next and after almost walking past her, Harry pulled Helena in for a snog – leaving Shakira gobsmacked.

He admitted: “There’s undeniable sexual chemistry.”

Harry then chose to go down on one knee for Shakira, but his proposal is declined.

Alima told Harry: “I’m getting second hand embarrassment, get up.”

Later on the Terrace, Toni and Yasmin consoled an upset Shakira who cried: “I can handle all of them being b****es when I’ve got a good thing with Harry… now everything has gone to sh**. Why the f*** would he kiss Helena?”

Also in a recent episode, Harry’s guy best friend Dejon opened up to him about his connection with Helena.

He said if he could have it his way he would see the pair together.

Harry, with tears in his eyes, replied: “Yeah. Like, we just have nothing. Do you know what I mean?”

He then paused to dab his face and added: “Where it’s just like, we were good and then it’s just like she can’t even be around me.”

Many fans and islanders thought he was having a taste of his own medicine following his lothario conduct.

However, the girls have pointed out Harry’s had a change in good behaviour since being coupled up with Shakira… but how long will it last?

Will Harry ditch Shakira and pick up where they left off Helena?

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.

Wimbledon fans divided after spotting ‘instantly iconic’ change to BBC coverage – but others say it ‘stinks’

THE BBC finally made the broadcast change many fans were crying out for.

But others branded the big shake-up as “super weird” and “horrendous”.

Wimbledon updated their TV scoreboard for 2025[/caption]

And one even suggested the new style “stinks”.

The other three Grand Slams show the score of previous sets on the TV scoreboard in the corner of the screen.

However, Wimbledon’s scoreboard simply gave viewers the score in sets – rather than the score of the sets.

For example, the scoreboard going into a deciding fifth set would previously have stated 2-2 in the sets column.

Now, though, Wimbledon have decided to follow the standard set by the Australian Open, French Open and US Open by giving the scorelines of the earlier sets.

For example, deep in the fourth set of Cam Norrie’s clash with Roberto Bautista Agut, fans could see Norrie led 6-3 3-6 6-4 in sets, it was 5-5 in games and the Spaniard was up 0-15 in the 11th game.

Where applicable, the players’ seedings were also stated by their name.

The change was made by Wimbledon – hence the purple and green colours.

However, it was also implemented by the BBC as the host broadcaster of the Championships.

And there was a mixed reaction from tennis fans on social media.

One said: “Sacred grass, classy whites. Tennis’ purest theatre. It’s Wimbledon time. With sleek new scoreboard graphics.”

Another wrote: “Wimbledon score graphics are so fresh. Minimalist, elegant and instantly iconic.”

And a third asked: “Can you spot the major welcome change on the Wimbledon score graphic?”

But a fourth replied: “The new Wimbledon graphic stinks.”

A fifth commented: “Wimbledon f***ed up their score graphic.”

A sixth moaned: “New Wimbledon score graphics? Not sure I like it…”

And a final user typed: “WTF is this new scoreboard graphics of Wimbledon!!?? Looks super weird.”

Kelsey Parker returns to social media for first time since losing her third child – as she pays tribute to daughter, 6

KELSEY Parker has returned to Instagram to celebrate her six-year-old daughter on her birthday – just a week after her baby was still born.

Kelsey announced last week her third child, Phoenix Parker-Lindsay, had been “born sleeping” shortly before her due date.

Since then, she and partner Will Lindsay have taken time away to grieve privately as a family.

However, today Kelsey returned to social media in order to commemorate her daughter, six-year-old Aurelia’s, birthday.

Kelsey had Aurelia, as well as four-year-old Bodhi, with her late husband Tom Parker, who died of glioblastoma, a form of brain tumour, in 2022.

Wanting to make sure her little girl knew how special she was, Kelsey posted a heartbreaking video montage of Aurelia growing up – starting in the arms of The Wanted star Tom as a tiny baby.

The video then zooms through the six-year-old’s life, including birthday parties, playing in a buggy with Bodhi, giggling with her mummy on the sofa, and dressed up like a princess on a bouncy castle.

Kelsey wrote alongside the video: “Aurelia means ‘The Golden One’ and that’s what you are 🤍 you’ve been through so much my darling daughter, but you’re the most precious little girl any mummy could wish for.

“I’m so happy we got to spend this weekend celebrating your birthday and turning another year older.

“I’m beyond proud of you and the amazing young woman you’re growing up to be.”

Nathan Massey was one of the first to send a comment wishing Aurelia a special day, writing a cheeky: “Happy bday you little menace 🤣🤣🤣❤❤❤

Louisa Lytton and Brooke Vincent posted strings of heart emojis, while Kelsey’s Mum’s The Word podcast co-host Georgia Jones adding: “Happy birthday to the cutest little diva I know 🩷

Kelsey shared the devastating news that her son, Phoenix, was still born last week, posting a poem to fans, “For Phoenix. Born sleeping, forever loved.”

The phoenix bird symbolises immortality, resurrection and life after death.

She added next to the poem: “Before I receive an influx of lovely messages and heartfelt well wishes, I want to just say that I truly appreciate everything you are all going to say and share.

“But with the news being so raw, I would really like to ensure that we as a family are given space and time to process this devastating and earth-shattering news.

“I love you all and thank you for your understanding and space.”

Phoenix was her first child with boyfriend Will, whom she started dating last September. At the time, Kelsey said she knew late husband Tom would “send the right man for her.”

They announced they were expecting in January.
