Timothée Chalamet slammed for ‘disrespectful’ joke about late President Jimmy Carter on ‘SNL’
Moment hero cop tackles knife-wielding attacker trying to stab customer in petrol station
THIS is the moment a hero cop single-handedly tackled a knife-wielding suspect who was trying to stab another man.
PC Morgan Younger managed to wrestle the attacker to the ground, disarm and restrain him while calling for back-up at a petrol station in Lewisham, south-east London, on Saturday.

The officer had stopped at the petrol station at around 3pm to quickly buy a drink.
He saw a man grab the victim around the throat and try to stab him with a large knife.
PC Younger, who is attached to South East Command Unit and has five years’ service, managed to bring him to the floor and disarm him without any help.
He restrained him single-handedly, kept him under control for five minutes before other officers arrived.
He also managed to arrest the man for attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon.
The alleged knifeman, in his 60s, remains in custody.
He has been further arrested for handling stolen goods and being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs after his home was searched.
The victim, aged in his 40s, was not injured.
Deputy Assistant Commissioner Jon Savell said: “This is outstanding work from an officer who was on patrol alone, saw a very violent crime in progress and, without hesitation, raced in to assist.
“I cannot overstate how proud we are in the Met today of his quick thinking and bravery.
“He was calm and professional and everything we want our police officers to be.
“I have no doubt without his intervention, the victim would have been seriously injured.”

Former Chelsea flop forced to explain himself after he is spotted sitting with Man City fans for defeat at Etihad
CHELSEA flop Danny Drinkwater has sparked a row after sitting with Manchester City fans and appearing to brand his old club a circus.
The ex-England midfielder saw City dent the Blues’ top-four hopes with a 3-1 comeback win at the Etihad.
![Stadium scoreboard showing a 0-1 score.](https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/NINTCHDBPICT000966899113.jpg?strip=all&w=648)
![Screenshot of a social media post explaining the author's absence of tickets.](https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/NINTCHDBPICT000966898582.jpg?strip=all&w=483)
Drinkwater is far from a favourite with Chelsea supporters following a dismal spell at Stamford Bridge from 2017-2022 after his £35million switch from Leicester.
And fans who reckoned he was a waste of money were seething again after spotting him with home supporters in Saturday’s crucial Premier League clash.
Drinkwater justified his actions on social media afterwards – but his explanation stirred up more discontent.
The now-retired star, 34, posted on Instagram: “For the @Chelsea fans asking why I’m in the City end… I asked the club for tickets!?! I didn’t receive any.”
Drinkwater then spelt out his feelings by adding two emojis – a circus and an eye roll.
That didn’t go down well with fans who recalled his anonymous, injury-hit six years at Stamford Bridge.
But other supporters slammed Drinkwater’s treatment by Chelsea at the weekend as proof of the “disrespectful” way former players are treated under the club’s majority owners Clearlake.
The fortunes of the three-cap ace hurtled downwards on and off the pitch once he immediately swapped 2015-16 Prem title glory with Leicester for Stamford Bridge.

And one fan said of his ‘snub’ at the Etihad: “Why would they give him tickets lol.”
Another posted: “He took enough from the club. They gave him a nice retirement package.”
A third wrote: “I wouldn’t give him any tickets either. He can f*****g buy them with the wage he received.”
A fourth added: “If he really wanted to support the club then I don’t see any harm in him buying a ticket btw.” A fifth chuckled: “Did him dirty.. Didn’t do anything notable for the club.”
But despite Drinkwater being such a costly misfit at Chelsea, the Etihad episode left some supporters pointing their finger at the current Stamford Bridge reign of Todd Boehly and private equity firm Clearlake.
One fan said: “Clearlake disrespecting former Chelsea players, get them out.”
Another demanded the same: “Get the owners out of here” – followed by two clown emojis.
Drinkwater has described his humbling descent while at Chelsea as “the darkest I’d felt. It was like I was drowning and forgotten how to swim”.
And his life away from the pitch has also been beset by an array of difficulties in recent years.
He was banned from the wheel for 20 months in 2019 after admitting drink-driving following a crash in his Range Rover that injured his two passengers.
And in September that year, Drinkwater was attacked outside a Manchester nightclub, suffering head injuries and ankle ligament damage.
Then in November 2023, just a week after quitting playing, the Sun revealed how he lost £782,000 from a failed restaurant business.
Drinkwater has since been working as a property developer.
RTE Dancing With The Stars viewers say Olympian Jack Woolley ‘deserves to win’ after ‘super’ Movie Night performance
RTE Dancing With The Stars viewers have all said Jack Woolley “deserves to win” after his “super” performance.
The hit RTE show returned tonight with the highly anticipated movie night, which saw its second celebrity elimination of the season.

The 10 celebrity contestants hit the dance floor for their fourth performance hoping to impress both judges and viewers.
Brian Redmond, Arthur Gourounlian and new judge Karen Byrne were back to give their professional and tough-talking reviews and scores tonight.
Loraine Barry was absent from the judging panel on tonight’s live show due to the sad passing of her mum.
Irish Taekwondo Olympian Jack Woolley and his pro partner Alex Vladimirov danced an outstanding Tango for movie night.
The pair fully embraced their chosen movie, The Joker, sporting striking red outfits and impressive clown makeup.
Although they received “mixed reviews” from the judges, Jack and Alex were happy to get a total score of 23.
RTE viewers were all left saying the same thing as they raced to social media to share their thoughts on the dance.
Darren said: “Jack deserves to win.”
Tony wrote: “Way undermarked for Jack there.”
Richard gushed: “Absolutely outstanding.”
Danny said: “Well done Jack – super performance.”
Another added: “My winner.”
After his performance last week, viewers were left furious as they said Jack was “underscored” again.
Last week’s show marked the first elimination of the season.
Jack and Alex danced an outstanding Jive for their third dance on the show.
HARSH SCORE
After their performance, Brian said: “Jack, with your background I was hoping and expecting that the kicks and flicks would be on point and my god were they on point.
“They were absolutely exceptional all the way through.”
Karen said she was “lost for words” as she praised the “captivating” dance.
Loraine recommended that he works on his posture but said he is “at such a level that is so good”.
Arthur added: “Your ability to showcase Jive was so effortless while maintaining the spirit of it.”
He then told Jack that he “delivered a knockout performance.”
The pair received a total score of 33, but RTE viewers believe that they deserved much more.
Dancing on Ice in favouritism row as fans slam scoring after Mollie misses out on top marks
A DANCING on Ice in favouritism row has erupted as fans slam the judges scores.
Mollie Pearce won the nation over when she was the runner-up on BBC’s The Traitors in 2024, and now she has won the nation over once again.

But it seems that the Dancing On Ice judges aren’t on the same page, with 22-year-old Mollie and her skating partner Colin Grafton’s score dubbed as low by viewers.
For Movie Week on the hit show this evening, the pair skated to Beauty and the Beast.
Enchanting those watching, fans were fuming when the judges scored them 30.
But with a possible top score of 40, fans were quick to say how they thought the pair had been undermarked.
Reacting to Mollie and Colin’s performance, one person wrote: “Omg why did the judges score Mollie the same as Ferne when Mollie did solo skating and Ferne didn’t do any! One word….. BIAS.”
Another said: “Mollie and Colin were undermarked.”
While a third wrote: “They overscored every single person except for Mollie…. oh that’s a choice.”
“That was amazing from Mollie, were the judges watching something else?!?!” asked a fourth.
While a fifth penned: “No way Mollie was on the same level as Anton. What a joke she deserved higher.”
A sixth then said: “The judges obviously watched something else! Mollie was amazing!”
And a seventh fumed: “Mollie and Colin being lower on the board just shows what’s wrong with the scores because they had one of the best routines of the night.”
Despite the judges having “undermarked” Mollie, fans still think she should be the first female winner of the show in 12 years.
“Need Mollie Pearce to be the first woman to win #DancingOnIce in 12 years,” penned one person, last weekend.
FANS CALL FOR MOLLIE TO WIN
Another then echoed: “Need Mollie Pearce to be the first woman to win #DancingOnIce in 12 years because that was IT!!!”

‘I haven’t let it burden me’ – World snooker champion Kyren Wilson vows he WILL break never-before-seen Crucible record
KYREN WILSON is adamant he WILL break the Crucible Curse this year.
No first-time winner of the World Snooker Championship has retained the crown the following year at the famous Sheffield Theatre.

The people who came closest to breaking the jinx were Joe Johnson (1987) and Ken Doherty (1998), who lost in the final 12 months after debut wins.
But Wilson, 33, believes his game is in great shape for the rest of the season despite losing to Shaun Murphy in the Masters final at Ally Pally this month.
Speaking ahead of opening against Hong Kong’s Cheung Ka Wai at the German Masters in Berlin tomorrow, Wilson said: “My game is in fantastic shape.
“I have kicked-on since becoming a world champion. I haven’t let it burden me. I have used it to inspire me.
“I like to think there are many more trophies to come. I will give it my all. I will win the Worlds.
“I did not play well at the Masters. I was stuck in second or third gear all week. I’m capable of a hell of a lot more.
“I’ve got this inner steel. I love playing at the Crucible. It suits my game, it suits my personality. I know how tough it is to win a world championship.
“But a lot of players go missing after winning it. I feel like it has inspired me, it has made me push my chest out a little bit at events. It has given me that inner confidence.”
CASINO SPECIAL – BEST CASINO BONUSES FROM £10 DEPOSITS
Wilson has won three of his eight ranking titles in Berlin.
And he added: “It’s one of my favourite tournaments.
“It has a similar vibe to Ally Pally when it gets to the one-table set-up.”
