Former Champions League star Radja Nainggolan arrested on suspicion of smuggling cocaine as police raid 30 houses

RADJA NAINGGOLAN has been arrested on suspicion of smuggling cocaine, according to reports.

The 30-cap Belgian midfielder joined second-tier Lokeren-Temse in his homeland last Tuesday.

He marked his debut on Friday by scoring an Olympic goal directly from a corner to rescue a 1-1 draw.

However, reports in Belgium on Monday morning revealed the former Roma and Inter Milan star was detained by police as part of an investigation into smuggling drugs from South America via the port of Antwerp.

Approximately 30 houses were raided in the areas of Antwerp and Brussels as part of the sting.

The Brussels public prosecutor’s office said: “The federal judicial police of Brussels carried out thirty house searches on Monday morning in the context of a file from the Organized Crime department of the Brussels public prosecutor’s office.

“The house searches mainly took place in the province of Antwerp and in Brussels.

“The investigation concerns suspected facts of importing cocaine from South America to Europe, via the port of Antwerp, and its redistribution in Belgium.

“We can confirm that the footballer RN (Radja Nainggolan) was deprived of his liberty in the context of that case.

“Given that the interrogations are currently underway, and in compliance with the principle of presumption of innocence, no further comment will be made at this stage.”

GVA in Belgium added that Nainggolan’s lawyer Omar Souidi is on his way to support his client.

Life-changing experience

Carlo is from Middlesborough and holds a master’s degree in psychology.

After experiencing hair loss at a young age, he travelled to Turkey and had over 3000 hair follicles transplanted.

Speaking about the surgery, he said: “It’s done wonders for my confidence.

“I can’t tell you how confident I am, I’ll approach girls if I’m out in a club now – it’s just made a massive difference.”

Carlo’s online business

Carlo wants to make hair loss surgery as accessible as possible, so other people can experience the mental health boost that it has given him.

His plan involves an online platform that connects patients with reputable hair transplant clinics worldwide.

He said: “The platform will solve the challenge of navigating a crowded market, where many clinics claim to be the best, by providing a trusted, easy-to-use resource for comparing clinics, accessing expert advice, and making well-informed decisions about hair restoration.”

Carlo also says that he’s built a strong personal brand, which includes a social media account with 30,000 followers and 30 million views (since January 2025).

According to Carlo, he’s worked “15-hour days over the past several years” and “no one works harder than me”.

The competition begins

The nineteenth series of the hit business reality show The Apprentice will air on January 27, 2025.

Lord Sugar will be investing £250,000 in the winning candidate’s business, in exchange for a 50 per cent stake in the company.

Carlo will be up against fierce competition, including Amber-Rose Badruidin, Dr Jana Denzel and Emma Street.

As the weeks go on, the candidates will be fired by Lord Sugar and his advisers Karren Brady and Tim Campbell until a winner is chosen.

I was on Don’t Tell the Bride – here’s what really happened behind the scenes & a secret about the wedding dress

A BUSINESS woman who appeared on Don’t Tell The Bride has spilled the truth on what really happened behind the scenes.

The British reality show gave engaged couples a £12,000 budget to plan their big day – but the twist was that the bride couldn’t have any part in the planning process.

Now, one luxury bridal shop owner has spoken out on social media about her experience on the show, and she claims that it was mostly faked.

Jess Ricketts is the owner of Wynter Isabelle, a glam bridal store in Barry, Wales.

She appeared on the show twice while working for previous employers, and helped groomsmen choose a dress for their ‘unknowing’ bride.

But Jess (@weddingdressjess) posted a video on TikTok, where she told viewers: “I don’t think that there’s many that didn’t know what dress they were having, and it was all a good bloody act.”

She says her stories took place around 15 years ago, and she didn’t want to name the couples in case they got in trouble for breaking the show’s strict rules.

But she tells viewers that they could easily work out who it was, as she appeared in both episodes.

While working for a bridal shop in Swansea, she says she received a phone call from a bride who was due to appear on the show in a few weeks.

She said the bride had set her sights on a particular dress, which they agreed to order in for her.

“So the groom comes in, he picks the dress as if it was, like, on the hanger ready, in her size.

“Dresses take six to nine months to order.”

Jess said the stunt was “strategically” planned, and when the dress was revealed, the woman faked her surprise in front of the cameras.

In another episode, Jess said she had to deal with “drama” from a bride who was a “very good actress”.

The featuring couple had visited her shop ahead of filming, to select the dress together.

Rules on Don't Tell The Bride

  • The couple have to go completely no contact for three weeks leading up to their big day.
  • The groom must plan everything – from the venue, to the dress, to the cake.
  • The production crew will stop filming if they find out the couple have secretly been talking.
  • The vows on the show aren’t legally binding, and couples need to register their marriage after.
  • The couple must agree to sign a contract agreeing to the rules.

The bride was “adamant” she wanted a princess dress and she’d told Jess there was “no way” she wasn’t going to know which dress she was having.

The couple chose the perfect gown and returned at a later date with the production crew.

Once the cameras were rolling, the dramatic bride staged a mega meltdown, pretending she hated the princess dress she’d secretly requested.

But the bride’s mega meltdown was a risky game – as if the couple were found out, they would have to pay back the £12,000 budget.

Viewers were left divided in the comments.

One person wrote: “I’m so gullible, I thought it was all real.”

While another person commented: “I did think surely they would speak before the wedding”

Why UK has ‘first dibs’ over Greenland – and Trump would have to ask Keir Starmer’s permission before seizing ice island

BRITAIN would have first refusal to buy Greenland and potentially scupper Donald Trump’s plot to acquire the nation.

Only a week into his second term, Trump has sent Denmark into “crisis mode” by insisting the US will take Greenland over.

The president wants to put the Danish territory under US control – vowing to do so to protect global “national security and freedom”.

But a pact made more than a century ago could be a major roadblock to Trump‘s land grab.

Determined Trump would have to go through the UK first – and get Sir Keir Starmer‘s approval.

Tom Høyem, who was Copenhagen‘s last permanent representative in the Arctic territory, pointed out an agreement signed back in 1917.

The undertaking – rubber-stamped after America first made a tentative attempt to acquire the land – is still valid.

Høyem told The Sunday Times: “If Trump tried to buy Greenland, he would have to ask London first.

“The United Kingdom demanded in 1917 that if Greenland were to be sold then the UK should have the first right to buy it.”

The agreement was made because Canada was a British dominion at the time and lies just a few miles from Greenland.

It comes as the Danes were left in “crisis mode” after an explosive 45-minute phone call between Trump and Denmark‘s Prime Minister.

Trump has been piling the pressure on Mette Frederiksen after first floating takeover plans before his second term in The White House.

Despite reportedly being told to “f*** off” by the Danes, the President continued his claims on the ice island.

Trump said on Saturday: “I don’t really know what claim Denmark has to it, but it would be a very unfriendly act if they didn’t allow that to happen because it’s for the protection of the free world.

“I think Greenland we’ll get because it has to do with freedom of the world.

“It has nothing to do with the United States other than that we’re the one that can provide the freedom. They can’t.”

Frederiksen had insisted Greenland is not for sale or up for grabs.

The pair had a fiery phone call last week, according to the Financial Times.

Conversations between the leaders have turned sour despite Frederiksen agreeing to be more co-operative with army bases and mining.

Several European officials revealed the reported hostility in last week’s phone call.

One official said: “The intent was very clear. They want it.

“The Danes are now in crisis mode.”

As an autonomous territory of Denmark, Greenland has its own ruling body – but people from the island have Danish citizenship.

But Denmark is responsible for Greenland’s protection and their army would be the army to mobilise against the Americans.

Its defence budget is around £6billion – 100 times smaller than the eye-watering £750billion America splashes on defence.

Despite the two nations continuing to squabble over ownership of Greenland, PM Egede has made it clear that Greenland wants to be completely independent – both of Denmark and a lurking America.

I’m a vet nurse and here’s four breeds I’d never recommend for first time owners – they’re stubborn and super snappy

A VET nurse has revealed the four popular dog breeds she would never recommend for first time owners.

Jade, a Registered Veterinary Nurse from the UK who has three dogs and three tortoises, explained that whilst Cocker Spaniels can be calm, they can also be snappy too.

Vet nurse lists four dog breeds not recommended for first-time owners: Belgian Malinois, Shiba Inu, Chow Chow, and Cocker Spaniel.
But pet owners were left totally divided by her claims, with many eagerly flocking to the comments to share their thoughts

Not only this, but she also shared why Chow Chows are not suitable for those new to owning pets.

Keen to share her thoughts, Jade took to social media to confess her feelings on four common breeds, leaving many totally stunned.

So if you’re thinking of getting a furry friend and aren’t sure which pooch is right for you, then you’ve come to the right place and will need to take notes.

In a short clip shared online, Jade penned: “Four dog breeds I do not recommend for first time owners, from a Vet Nurse.”

First things first, the animal pro claimed that Cocker Spaniels are not suitable for first time owners, as she said: “My parents have two cockers who are polar opposites! One is calm as a cucumber and the other mad as a box of frogs but both can be a little snappy.”

She also explained why she wouldn’t recommend the Chow Chow breed, as she added: “Chows are fantastic! I own one myself… however I feel they are better suited to experienced owners because of their stubbornness.

“They are a wonderful breed but in the wrong hands often end up in rescues or worse being euthanised.”

As well as this, Jade also shared that the Belgian Malinois and Shiba Inu are not suitable for first time owners.

When it comes to the Shiba Inu breed, she acknowledged: “They are a wonderful breed but similar to Chows, they can be quite stubborn and aloof so I think they are always best pets for experienced dog owners.”

Jade was keen to stress that “with the correct training and environment”, such breeds “can be fantastic dogs”.

And the animal lover was also eager to add that her thoughts are simply her “own opinion” and are “not that of the entire veterinary profession”.

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @jade.the.vet.nurs, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it was shared just one week ago, but has quickly racked up a jaw-dropping 584,600 views.

Dog Owner Guide: All You Need To Know

Owning and keeping a dog happy and healthy is not only a long-term financial, but a lifetime commitment.

Nine facts you should know ahead of time:

Big divide

But social media users were left totally divided by Jade’s claims, and many eagerly flocked to the comments to share their thoughts.

One person said: “Finally someone NOT recommending spaniels for first time dog owners. I don’t know why they are so marketed as a family dog, they are hard work and need a lot of time!”

Another added: “Definitely agree with this list, add Frenchie and husky to it as well.”

A third commented: “As a first time owner of a Belgian Malinois I 100% agree. Listen to the warnings. This dog has aged me and he’s only 10 months.”

However, at the same time, many disagreed, as one pet owner wrote:
“I got a cocker as a first time owner, I now have three cockers. Definitely a great breed to have as a first time owner.”

A second chimed in: “My first dog is a Shiba Inu called Romi. She has been the best dog ever.”

Whilst someone else penned: “Chow Chow if anything are the best dogs for first time owners! Love to know why you think this.”

Not only this, but one user asked Jade: “Would you recommend a Husky?”

To which she responded: “I wouldn’t recommend a Husky for a first time dog owner unless you do thorough research and believe you can offer everything a husky requires.”

And when it comes to Beagles, Jade also wrote in the comments: “Haha Beagles love to eat EVERYTHING!”
