FORMER jockey Aidan Coleman has opened up about the emotional challenges he’s faced since being forced into early retirement.
The Cork-born jockey announced his retirement last April after a career-ending injury.
He was unable to recover fully from a knee injury sustained in a fall at Worcester, which also left him with a shattered tibia.
Coleman has spoken of the mental toll it took on him after his dreams were suddenly taken away.
In an interview with ‘Thoroughbred Daily News’ he described feeling “lost” as he struggled to find his purpose.
Aidan, who rode more than 1200 career winners as a jockey fears that he might “feel like this forever” as he’s unsure of his next career move.
He said: “It’s hard for people to help me when I don’t even know what I want to do.
“If I knew, I’d go and do it, but I just don’t have a clue.”
The interview drew praise from near and far on social media as former colleagues praised Coleman for his honesty.
Trainer Fergal O’Brien commented: “Candid stuff from @AidanColeman. #ItsOkNotToBeOk.”
Another penned: “What a refreshing interview, no hiding from his feelings—just pure honesty. Many will relate to his struggles.”
Coleman later took to the social media platform himself as he , expressed how much the interview meant to him.
He commented “Probably got more from this interview than I have from every other I’ve done in my career!!
“The chat hit home more than I could ever imagine.”
Coleman admitted that he wasn’t keen to work in TV after trying it after the injury but he does enjoy doing podcasts.
He also admitted that he would be interested in helping horse owners in the future.
He added: “I tried doing a bit of work with Racing TV as well but didn’t like it. I can’t see myself doing TV.
“I like the smaller stuff, like doing podcasts, because invariably you’re talking about a topic or a race that’s worth talking about.
“I like that stuff because it’s interesting and it’s snappy. A full day doing TV at the races, it’s just not my cup of tea. I was just a fish out of water on Racing TV.
“I wouldn’t mind helping owners out in some capacity. I have seen a lot of wealthy people come and go in this game. A lot of them left the game because they were being fleeced.
“So, maybe if they had someone in their corner, things would have been different.”
Love Island’s Ronnie Vint has revealed his ‘true feelings’ for the villa girls through his ‘lizard tongue.’
Temperatures have soared in the Love Island All Stars villa after 28-year-old Ronnie’s ex, Harriet Blackmore, entered as a bombshell.
Ronnie, who had sparked a romance with Elma Pazar, turned heads when Harriet walked in, giving viewers plenty to talk about.
Body language expert Judi James claims that Ronnie’s tongue is his “biggest non-verbal ‘tell’.”
When he fancies someone, he performs a corner-of-the-mouth lick, resembling “the cat that got the cream.”
Speaking exclusively to Paddy Power Games, Judi said: “Many women fantasise about converting a bad boy – making them fall in love and settle down after their previous history as a charismatic player.
“Ronnie might not quite fit the profile of Rupert Campbell-Black from Rivals or even Bridget Jones’s Daniel Cleaver, but he’s certainly pitching himself as Love Island All Stars’ epiphany lover – the cheeky geezer who’s finally found ‘The One’ who has melted his heart and tamed his roving eye.
“Unfortunately for Ronnie, it all happened at warp speed rather than as a convincing slow burn.
“After one episode of performing to camera, he was trying to shape-shift convincingly from lad to lover.
“Clutching only one line of script – ‘It’s you, it’s always been you’ – he executed the quickest character U-turn in reality TV history.
“You could see Ronnie’s determination from the way his ‘lizard tongue’ rituals sped up too.
“When he fancies someone or gets told off (both of which he enjoys), his tongue performs a corner-of-the-mouth lick like the cat that got the cream.
“It’s Ronnie’s version of a purr. But when Ronnie’s ‘in love,’ his tongue works overtime, flicking about inside his mouth with the tip protruding to trace along the length of his lips.
“The speed of that tongue showed signs of agitation as he built his plotline and made his love moves as quickly as possible.
“Even Ekin-Su would have been impressed by his dramatic declaration on the balcony, well within earshot of Elma and her posse of girls.
“Ekin-Su might be the drama-choreographing queen of Love Island, but Ronnie’s Shakespearean stunt proves she’s got competition.”
Ronnie’s epiphany began with an open-mouthed look of shock as he saw Harriet choose another guy to couple up with. His expression morphed into a sneer before he sucked his lips in to signal irritation.
Forced to sleep on the daybed, Ronnie’s bad-boy persona returned in the morning when he performed a double pit-bare stretch, signalling status, confidence, and power.
Judi explained: “Ronnie looked like a man barely biding his time. But it was Ron’s will that broke first, as he ducked quickly out of the way to allow villa alpha Ronnie to make his move on his ex.
“As he declared his ‘love,’ Ronnie sat back in his seat with his hands clasped in front of his crotch in a barrier gesture, his index fingers steepled to hint at a desire for control.
Love Island All Stars is back on TV for season 2.

Each series brings with it a string of hot single bombshells making their epic entrance into the villa.

“He created further barriers, crossing his leg over his torso and picking at a cushion with one hand.
“His micro-sneer during the conversation hinted at irritation rather than the softened expression and lowered vocal tone typically seen in someone genuinely in love.”
But Ronnie wasn’t the only one stirring up drama. Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Curtis Pritchard added to the villa chaos after Friday night’s kissing challenge.
Curtis scored the other girls highly, while Ekin-Su, 30, added extra touching during her turn in the game.
Judi said: “Ekin needed a romantic fallout because no one has ever won Love Island in straight sets, and she and Curtis lacked the plotline depth needed to coast to a win.
“Their ‘row’ was verbal rather than visual, with only nuanced gestures suggesting any real irritation. Curtis sent Ekin subtle tie-signs like small eyebrow movements or eye-smiles, seemingly reminding her it was all polite and friendly.
“He seems to take his lead in their scenes from her. Ekin-Su saved her genuine eruptions for later during the casino game.”
As the competition heats up, game plans and showmances are being called out.
Judi concluded: “There seems to have been a silent agreement to collude this year, but there are already murmurs of revealing what’s gone on outside the villa.
“The ‘Fight Night’ episode, where true colours were exposed, hinted that this season is more ‘Hate Island’ than ‘Love.’
“The term ‘showmance’ has become weaponised, and breaking up a fake relationship is now seen as an act of treachery.
All Stars is returning to our screens and bringing with it a whole batch of Love Island legends.
