BBC drama thrown into chaos as star reveals filming was halted for ‘really stressful’ emergency

THE BBC was forced to stop filming and production due to a ‘really stressful’ emergency on the set of one of its hit dramas.

Daisy May Cooper‘s series Am I Being Unreasonable? was thrown into chaos as the lead comedy star went into premature labour with her third child.

The series was filming at the start of 2024, but quickly had to stop production later in the year as Daisy went into labour early.

Speaking to OK! she explained: “I was pregnant when we started filming and then my son was born seven weeks early, so we had to stop filming right in the middle.”

She added: “I have a brilliant son, but it was really stressful.”

However returning to filming also came with issues as when the production did continue for the second series, Daisy looked totally different.

Daisy explained: “It was a bit mad, because since we filmed the last series and this series, I’ve had my lips done. I’ve lost about ten stone.”

Daisy also revealed the news of her third child to fans via her Instagram, as she shared a video from the neo-natal unit.

She captioned the clip: “What a bloody week…

“You came a bit earlier than we expected and gave me the worst post op constipation that i nearly had to phone the samaratins but my god you are perfect.

“I cannot thank @deliverysuitegrh enough. The way you looked after us through such a scary time was above and beyond. you are all bloody superstars. I am so blessed. Welcome to the world little Benji, ya nutter Born 06/06/24.”

The video also included sweet clips including Daisy meeting her son for the first time as she was pushed by a nurse into the neonatal unit where she broke down in tears when she saw her little one.

She was seen crying “hi bubba” as she reached into his incubator to touch him.

Benji is Daisy’s first child with her boyfriend Anthony Huggins, Daisy already has two other children daughter Pip, five, and son Jack, three, with her ex-husband Will Weston.

Filming did resume on Am I Being Unreasonable? to conclude the second series.

The series was the brainchild of Daisy and co-writer and co-star Selin Hizli, with the pair coming up with the storyline during the pandemic.

Daisy previously shared in an interview: “For me I always wanted to write something with Selin because I think she’s the most talented person I’ve ever met, I mean second to me, I am massively talented (laughs) but there’s nobody else who makes me laugh like her.”

Selin added: “I knew you were just at home doing nothing because so was the rest of the world. So I knew you couldn’t come up with a good excuse so I could just force you to be my friend.”

Lorraine Kelly hits out at ‘nutter’ Wynne Evans in shock on-air rant about Strictly star’s sleaze scandal

LORRAINE Kelly blasted Wynne Evans as a “nutter” as she gave her take on the shamed Strictly Come Dancing star’s sleaze scandal.

The Scottish host, 65, spoke out during a small segment on Wednesday’s Good Morning Britain, where she previewed her upcoming ITV daytime show.

Lorraine, known for her cheery giggle and beaming smile, took a more sombre tone as she told how her programme would feature chats with Strictly fans who had attended the current tour.

She revealed how the chats came after opera singer Wynne was axed from the live concert dates after his sexual jibe towards former BBC One show pro Janette Manrara, 41 – which was caught on both film and camera.

It has emerged how he is fighting to save his Go Compare job and BBC travel show.

On Tuesday, Wynne broke his silence on being booted off the tour and told fans: “I am deeply sorry.”

Now the broadcasting veteran, who fronts her Lorraine show on most weekdays, has given her take and said: “What kind of person says that anyway, but what kind of nutter does that when they are being filmed?

“I don’t understand it.

“I am constantly baffled.”

Later, as she discussed the incident on her own show, she branded Wynne a “complete clown.”

SHOW SHOCK

Wynne let slip his shock remark at the start of the Strictly live tour shows before pulling out of the Glasgow performance, citing an ankle injury.

The BBC Wales presenter was heard suggesting a threesome with mum-of-one Janette, using the derogatory term “spit roast.”

It came at a photocall to launch the Strictly live tour, when the Go Compare singer reportedly made a suggestive face at actor Jamie Borthwick as Janette moved between them — which is when he allegedly made the joke.

An image shows Wynne, wearing a blue top, glancing over his right shoulder at Janette, who can be seen standing next to him gazing at the floor.

He has since issued an apology and told The Mail on Sunday: “My language was inappropriate and unacceptable, for which I sincerely apologise.”

BBC and Strictly Live producers said: “We have made it clear to Wynne we do not tolerate such behaviour on tour.”

Wynne Evans' Strictly scandals

‘Grope’

Wynne encountered a backlash after his Strictly pro partner Katya was filmed removing his hand from her waist.

Fans insisted she looked uncomfortable as she moved it away – but Katya later insisted there was no problem.

In joke

They then sparked further fury, when she was seen refusing to high-five the Opera singer.

The duo were quick to issue a video apology and insisted it was all an innocent “inside joke”.

Crude joke

Wynne came under fire for allegedly telling a “crude” joke to one of the show’s make-up artists.

Insiders claim the opera star made a joke that the folds of his double chin “looked like a vagina”.

A source said: “It was a bit of a vulgar dad joke.”

Vile comment

Wynne was recorded suggesting a three-way sex session with presenter Janette Manrara, using the term “spit roast”.

His remark came at a photocall to launch the Strictly live tour, which pro Janette, 41, is hosting.

He reportedly pulled a suggestive face at actor Jamie Borthwick as Janette moved between them — which is when Evans allegedly made the joke.

Wynne has apologised saying: “My language was inappropriate and unacceptable, for which I sincerely apologise.”

At the time, Janette’s spokeswoman said she had been “unaware of this comment.”

Wynne was then spotted brushing off the scandal as he was seen singing on stage – despite being unable to dance.

He also shared images of his bruised ankle in a story on Instagram after his injury threw preparations for the live show into chaos.

Dad of two Wynne is sadly no stranger to a TV scandal.

Wynne previously came under fire in last year’s Strictly series when he was seen groping his dance partner Katya Jones, but they dismissed it as a joke.

WYNNE’S STATEMENT

Wynne apologised for his conduct in a statement on Tuesday and said: “I’ve agreed with the BBC that l’ll take some time out from my radio show and the Strictly Live tour, as well as my other public commitments, to prioritise my wellbeing.

“I am deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate actions have caused, and plan to take this time for self-reflection.

“Apologies to those I won’t get to see at the remaining performances and I’m grateful to my fellow tour gang for all the amazing support they have given me.”

According to insiders, the incident followed “repeated warnings about his behaviour” leading show bosses to remove him from the tour.

His BBC One show partner Katya has also broken her silence on his tour exit.

Away from the reality series, the scandal has cause heartbreak in Wynne’s home life.

The dad of two has been dumped by his girlfriend after he left her “humiliated” with is “lewd” conduct.
