Princess Kate Middleton and Prince William got hard to work during a visit to a Welsh cake store on Wednesday, February 26.
Kate Middleton, 43, and William, 42, met with local businesses and members of the community in Pontypridd, Wales, including The Welsh Cake Shop.
The couple wore matching navy aprons for the visit and even tried making Welsh cakes, a traditional dish made with flour, sugar, and butter.
“You’ll have to sell these for half price,” William could be heard saying during the visit, People reported.

Speaking to Us Weekly after the visit, the shop’s owner, Theresa Conner, said meeting the Prince and Princess of Wales was “surreal.”

“I haven’t had time to digest it, but it was an amazing day,” she said.
“When they came, I knew they would like to try and make Welsh cakes, so I asked if they had made them before. William said he’d eaten plenty but hadn’t made one before,” Conner said, adding that the couple “did a great job.”

In a separate interview with People, Connor also said she’d “absolutely” hire the couple at the shop.
“I should have roped them in to help with St. David’s Day while I had the opportunity!” she joked.
William and Kate inherited the titles Prince and Princess of Wales after King Charles III ascended the throne in 2022.
Kate paid tribute to the nation with her outfit — a red coat, the color of the Welsh dragon, and a daffodil pin, which is the nation’s national flower. Meanwhile, William wore a smaller daffodil pin on his gray blazer, which he wore over a burgundy sweater and a blue shirt.
Later in the visit, Kate and William took the opportunity to meet with people who had been affected by severe flooding from Storm Bert in December 2024.
Conner told Us that she hoped the couple’s visit would help to “highlight these problems and help toward a resolution” following the floods.
