The live exchange was cut short however when a silver truck drove into Tori, knocking her to the ground.
A stunned Tori was able to pick herself up as she can be heard saying: “Oh my God, I just got hit by a car but I’m OK.”
To which her news co-host Tim replied: “That’s a first for you on TV, Tori.”
Tori reassured viewers that she was ok and wasn’t injured as she then attempted to shrug off the exchange, as she added: “That’s live TV for you.”
As the clip continued, Tori was also heard telling the woman who drove the truck into her that she was alright.
Whilst the incident happened three years ago, Tori has now marked the anniversary – especially after the clip went viral online.
On Instagram she reshared the video as she wrote: “Shoutout to cousin Mikey for reminding me yesterday was my ‘anniversary’ of this gem.”
Some comments have said her co-star Tim didn’t appear sympathetic to her after she was knocked down, which Tori clarified: “Since so many of you are seeing this for the first time, please note that Tim could NOT SEE ME in the studio.”
Comments on the video also commended the journalist for getting back up again, as one person said she ‘took it like a champ’.
Another added: “Your level of professionalism and moving through a crisis is stunning. Glad you are okay!!!!”
Discussing the incident with NBC News, Tori also revealed that she was more worried about the truck driver as she explained: “I was the face of the woman driving the car – she was mortified.
“I felt really compelled to let her know that I am good.”
The incident happened at the beginning of Tori’s journalism career and she added that she worried after her report went viral that she’s be known as the woman who was hit by a car on air.
She said: “Hopefully people don’t look at me and say ‘oh that’s the reporter that got hit by the car.
“I hope they look at me and, you know, they’re like ‘she’s Tori and she’s going to go out and tell impacting stories’.”

Tori Yorgey then clarified she was ok to viewers, the channel and to the woman who drove into her[/caption]
