Wardrobe malfunctions happen to the best of us. The smallest wrong move can lead to some very awkward moments for anyone. However, in Hollywood, the stakes are a lot higher for stars who always have a camera pointed at them. In a recent interview, Amanda Seyfried revealed that she had such a moment.
It would seem that at the 2023 Critics Choice Awards, the actress ended up having quite an awkward moment with her dress. Thankfully, Glen Powell was there to save the day.
Amanda Seyfried’s dress was not cooperating with her
In an interview with People, Amanda Seyfried recently spilled the beans on one of the biggest questions that fans had about her look during the 2023 Critics Choice Awards. When the actress first stepped on the red carpet, she was wearing a gorgeous golden gown.
However, when she got on the stage to receive the award for her work in The Dropout, she was wearing a blazer that covered the top half of her dress. She finally revealed what caused her to cover up the gorgeous Dior gown. The dress was a vintage piece from their collection, and she had great appreciation for it.
I was wearing this amazing vintage dress. I made my stylist dress up in it before I went just for fun…It was kind of sewn together and it started truly falling apart, literally falling off of me on the red carpet, and I think there were even interviews where I’m saying it’s breaking off.
Unfortunately, the feeling did not seem to be mutual as the dress began to unravel when she was on the red carpet itself. Thankfully, none of it was caught on camera, but the actress did end up joking about it in some interviews.
While she managed to enter the event in one piece, an exciting conversation left her in a very tough spot in front of a Top Gun: Maverick star.
Glen Powell knows how to be a gentleman
Amanda Seyfried revealed that at the event, she was having a conversation with Glen Powell when her dress decided to perform the highest form of betrayal. Powell ended up making her laugh so much that her raising her arms made the dress completely give out and leave her exposed in a room full of people.
Both had a naturally dramatic reaction and screamed as soon as it happened. Thankfully, the actor seemed to think quickly as he ended up covering her as soon as it happened. While Seyfried joked that she was pretty sure he did not see anything.
I was talking to Glen Powell in the corner near my table, and we were joking around about something and I lifted my arms up, and my boobs were just out. My dress fell apart…We both screamed, and like the gentleman he is, he covered me. He didn’t look… I think. None of us were expecting that, but that dress had truly just given up.
After complimenting Powell for his maturity and chivalry, she then addressed the blazer. She mentioned that she acquired a blazer from somewhere after these events, naturally having to come up with a quick solution for her problem. While wardrobe malfunctions are common in Hollywood too, one can imagine that the moment must have been quite troubling for the actress.
